Columbus Talk is a place to come and learn about all things relating to Columbus Mississippi. Hosted by Columbus expatriate Andrew Orr.
The election is nigh! In under 30 days Columbus will choose a Mayor and a City Council. Gaskin is issuing strong statements against the crime that is obviously spiking. Mayor Smith is moving to the gutter of race politics. Already. Meanwhile, the Fire House project is being soaked in a huge ‘money grab'. Does Columbus regularly pay $3 million for something worth only $1 million? Wait...I guess it does. Take the Amphitheater for example. They have $3.2 million in it already and it is unfinished. A pattern is emerging on how Mayor Smith manages projects.
Just 45 days until the next election in Possumtown. I feel it will be a landslide. The opposite side hasn't really started yet. So we need to run like we are behind still. I know they will spring something upon us. But they have been pretty quiet.
