In this episode of The Inquisitor Podcast, Marcus speaks with returning guest Matt Gaskin about a shift most businesses still haven't recognised properly: AI search is changing how buyers discover and evaluate suppliers. Matt argues that your website is no longer just a marketing brochure. It is now a trust and credibility signal for AI systems like OpenAI's ChatGPT, Google Gemini, xAI Grok, and Perplexity AI. The conversation began after Matt shut down his Google and Facebook ads because they generated huge amounts of noise, poor-fit enquiries, and almost no conversions. That forced him to ask a difficult question: “If a real buyer asked AI who to recommend in my market, would my business even appear?” The answer was no. What followed was a six-month investigation into how AI systems evaluate businesses online, what creates trust signals, and why many websites unintentionally confuse both buyers and AI models. Marcus and Matt explore: Why visibility and recommendation are not the same thing How unclear messaging creates “entity drift” and confuses AI systems Why FAQs, buyer answers, case studies and authority signals matter more than flashy design The risks of generic “we serve everyone” positioning How businesses accidentally train AI to attract the wrong customers Why many websites are still built for Google's old SEO model rather than AI recommendation engines The hidden technical and strategic problems that stop businesses appearing in AI-generated shortlists What founders, sales leaders and marketers should audit immediately Matt also explains why smaller specialist firms can still outperform larger competitors in AI search by being clearer, more specific, and more useful. This is not a conversation about gaming algorithms. It is a conversation about clarity, trust, buyer intent, and whether your digital presence genuinely reflects the value your business provides. If you suspect your marketing generates activity but not meaningful opportunities, this episode will probably make you uncomfortable in all the right ways. connect with Matt Matt Gaskin | LinkedIn connect with Marcus Marcus Cauchi | LinkedIn
Send us Fan MailOn this episode of the Better to Podcast, I sit down with Amy Gaskin. Back in 2020 an idea came to her about going to Marilyn Monroe's grave and even though we were supposed to be masking she found fresh lipstick kisses. This lead her on an incredible journey of how the idol had come to be something more personal than a Movie Icon. When I was notified of the opportunity to do this interview I jumped at is as it was a way to celebrate Marilyn's 100th Birthday and did into someone that was near and dear to my heart when I was younger. I hope you enjoy it. ******Amy Stanford Gaskin is a photographer and journalist based in Los Angeles. Extraordinary access is a hallmark of her images, which she earns by spending time with the people she photographs. She strives to capture intimacy and truth in her art.Her new book Marilyn Forever! Marilyn Monroe—A Symbol of Hope documents and illustrates the personal reasons people are inspired by Marilyn Monroe for reasons far beyond her stardom. During the early days of the pandemic, she happened upon Marilyn's crypt, where she was surprised to find wet lipstick marks decorating her resting place while the majority of the world was standing six feet apart. She began to interview and photograph visitors at her grave. Many shared stories of how memories of Marilyn's remarkable attributes and actions helped them through the toughest of times. Perhaps the most surprising discovery was that many identify with the trauma of her abuse, adoption and foster care, while others consider her a civil rights icon for the Black and LGBTQ+ communities. Marilyn's memory lives on in surprising ways through countless people around the world who are connected and inspired by her enduring legacy. National Geographic, The Washington Post, STERN Magazine, The Guardian, Associated Press, BloodHorse, CBS, ABC, Los Angeles Times, and others have featured her work. ******If you would like to contact the show Dauna@betertopodcast.comFollow us on Social MediaYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCX0ETs2wpOHbCuhUNr0XFTw?view_as=subscriberInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/author_d.m.needom/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bettertopodcastwithdmneedomSupport the podcast here: https://www.patreon.com/bettertopodcastwithdmneedom©2026 Better To...Podcast with D. We're wrapping up our series Liturgy: Work for the People, and this week we're talking about the table. Communion. If you've ever sat through it thinking "is this almost over?" — you're not alone. But stick with us, because there's something really beautiful hiding in this practice that we don't want you to miss. In week two of our “Liturgy: Work for the People” series, we continue along the road to Emmaus in Luke 24, exploring the movement of Word and Reflection. As the disciples walk in confusion and grief, Jesus meets them right where they are—not with immediate answers, but with presence, story, and interpretation. What does it mean to embody wisdom in our everyday lives? In a world shaped by distraction and disconnection, how do we become attentive to what's happening within us—and around us? What voices are forming us? And what if the wisdom we're searching for isn't far away, but already present in the ordinary moments and people we often overlook? What does it mean to truly gather? In this opening week of Liturgy: Work for the People, we explore how worship is more than routine—it's an invitation to participate. Instead of asking “What's in it for me?”, what if we showed up ready to be shaped together? Through the story of the road to Emmaus, we reflect on how God meets us in unexpected places and calls us into deeper connection—with ourselves, one another, and the work of love, justice, and compassion. This Sunday, we reflect on resurrection, peace, and the emotional weight we carry in uncertain times. Centered on the moment when Jesus appears to his anxious disciples and speaks peace, this week we invite people to acknowledge their feelings, resist narratives of fear and division, and notice the signs of new life already present around them. How important is it for homeopaths to have a thorough understanding of metal elements and their properties? In today's episode with Caroline, we'll talk about metal remedies and metal detoxing. How metal elements have helped us in many aspects of our lives and how they have adversely affected our well-being. Caroline Gaskin is a homeopath, health writer, and wellness coach providing natural medicine solutions for all ages, including women's health, weight loss, immune support, fertility, pregnancy, menopause, skin problems, and detox. She began to study homeopathy in 1994, first with Stella Berg and then with the renowned Robert Davidson at the College of Practical Homeopathy. Since 2005, she has added the Narayani Remedies, Australian Bush Flower Essences, Alchemy Energetics, and CoRe Inergetix to her practice. The CoRe Inergetix program helps her identify sources of toxicity that are detrimental to our health and can interfere with vitality and fertility. She teaches homeopathy, lectures extensively on natural health, and supervises both students and practitioners. On Palm Sunday, we revisit the ancient song of Psalm 118—a song of praise, struggle, and hope. As the crowd welcomed Jesus into Jerusalem, they weren't just singing words; they were locating themselves in a story of liberation and longing. In this sermon, we reflect on how our own stories—of pain, resilience, and even rejection—can become the very foundation for hope, shaping how we move forward together. In the final week of our Sent Forth series, we reflect on the words, “to bring justice and kindness to all our children and neighbors who are poor.” Looking to the example of Jesus, we are invited to reimagine the table—one where those often pushed aside are brought to the center, and where a more expansive, grace-filled community becomes possible. In week four of our Sent Forth series, we reflect on the line from our dismissal prayer: “May God bless you with enough foolishness to believe you can make a difference in this world.” Together, we explore the relationship between faith, the stories we tell ourselves, and the courage it takes to challenge harmful narratives about our worth, identity, and impact. What if faith isn't certainty, but the willingness to wrestle with our beliefs and trust that a better story is possible? This week, we are invited to question the narratives that tell us we are not enough and instead to embrace the “foolish” hope that the way we show up in the world truly matters. In Week 3 of our Lenten series “Sent Forth,” we explore what it means to be blessed with tears to shed. Rather than ignoring sadness, grief, or suffering, we consider how these experiences can deepen our compassion and connection with others. Looking at the story of Jesus weeping with Mary and Martha, we reflect on how true compassion grows from acknowledging our own pain and shared humanity. What if our tears are not weakness—but an invitation to walk with others in hope? Journals play an important role for academics. They disseminate new knowledge and separate good from bad research. They also signal competencies, reputation, and standing. Publishing in certain journals often means your work is more rigorous. It may also mean your work is more visible and gets cited more often. Plus, having your work appear in certain journals can be an important prerequisite for career advancement and it can literally affect your salary. Yet of course, these different functions can be evaluated in different ways. Not all journals score equally high or low on all these different aspects. Determining which journal is "good" or "top" becomes a complicated multidimensional riddle. We decided to ask Jason Thatcher. He is one of the most prolific authors of journal papers our field has ever seen and he has served as reviewer or editors on most if not all of them. We try to develop a simple 2x2 decision tool that helps authors identify journals that are both rigorous and prestigious, that are good for the research we do and good for our careers as well. This week, the lads hop across the pond to continue excavating denim and leather. It's all about the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal! The NWOBM movement was filled with passionate bands that were poised to take over the world. Unfortunately, most of them didn't make it to the level of Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, or Saxon. Hopefully, we can help spread the word and sounds for those who didn't. What's this InObscuria thing? We're a podcast that exhumes obscure Rock n' Punk n' Metal and puts them in one of 3 categories: the Lost, the Forgotten, or the Should Have Beens. This week we discuss the LOST. For such a small island, they sure had a lot of amazing bands that set the standards for what is known as heavy metal. From the music, to the fashion, to the attitude… Over 45-years ago, these bands started an underground movement that would change hard rock and metal forever. What if children aren't interrupting worship—but revealing something about it? In this final week of Going Deeper, we reflect on Jesus' radical welcome of children and what it means for our life together as a community. Drawing from research on lifelong faith formation and the story of the boy in John 6, we consider how multigenerational relationships shape faith that lasts. When children witness the faith of their parents and are surrounded by adults who model love, compassion, and courage, something powerful happens. This episode challenges us to rethink the difference between “sacred” and “solemn,” and invites us to see the presence of children not as a distraction—but as a gift. We continue our third week in our sermon series, Peace in Disorienting Times. Throughout Advent, we have been reflecting on what it means to practice peace when life feels uncertain, overwhelming, or unclear. In today's sermon, we turn to Paul's words written from prison and explore how gratitude, generous assumptions of others, and intentionally focusing on what is good can cultivate a peace that surpasses understanding. Ultimately, this message reminds us that peace and joy are cultivated—not discovered—through intentional spiritual practices, especially in the midst of disorientation. This week we continue our Advent series Peace in Disorienting Times, exploring what it means to experience and embody peace when life feels unclear or overwhelming. Looking at Jesus's words to his confused disciples, we're reminded that peace isn't the absence of conflict but the presence of safety, wholeness, and belonging. We reflect on the importance of psychological safety—why being heard, validated, and accepted matters deeply in seasons of questioning and uncertainty. As a community, Storied Church seeks to offer that kind of peace to one another and to our neighbors, especially those facing real fear and vulnerability. Her journey is a powerful reminder that our voice is more than words — it's identity, alignment, and our pathway to impact.Emma opens up about walking away from a decade-long relationship just months before the wedding… and discovering her true voice in the silence that followed. She shares how her Speak Up Method blends science, soul, and strategy to help women stop shrinking, own their impact, and speak with power that people feel.We get into the neuroscience of storytelling, the social conditioning that teaches women to stay small, and the difference between speaking from a wound vs. speaking from the wisdom it gave you. You'll also hear simple everyday ways to practice using your voiceIf you're ready to stop swallowing your truth and start standing in it, this conversation is your permission slip.–Connect with Emma Gaskin:LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/thespeakinghub/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/emmajgaskin/ –Connect with Deanna Herrin:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/deannaherrin/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/deanna-herrin/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thedeannaherrinWebsite: http://www.deannaherrin.net
In the gospel of Luke, Jesus' response to the Sadducees turns a “gotcha” question into a vision of freedom. Resurrection, he says, isn't about escaping this world—it's about transforming it. It's the great reset where hierarchies crumble, oppression ends, and love has the final word. We are invited to see resurrection not just as a future hope, but as a present call to live differently here and now. A key problem in empirically oriented research, especially inductive and abductive work, is figuring out which theoretical lens or scaffold to apply to uncover novel insights. In other words, which theory should you use? We discuss a few heuristics scholars can draw on to reach a higher level of scholarly maturity, namely disposition, empirical salience, outcome definition, skepticism, and reflexivity. In this final week of our series Simple Rules for Chaotic Times, we explore John Wesley's third rule: “Attend to the ordinances of God” — or in modern language, “Stay in love with God.” Together we reflect on what it means to center our lives around love — love for God, love for neighbor, and love for self — even in times of division and discord. This week, we continue our sermon series “Simple Rules for Chaotic Times” by exploring what it means to Do Good. Building on last week's reflections on “Do No Harm,” we turn to Galatians 6:1–10 to uncover how a rhythm of life centered on Jesus invites us to care deeply for others, live with integrity, and persevere through hardship and criticism. Brandon Gaskin, Founder & Executive Director of the Deaf Millennial Project, preaches from Exodus 4:11, John 9:2-3, and Colossians 1:17.
This week marks the second week of our series “Simple Rules for Chaotic Times” as we explore the first of John Wesley's General Rules: “Do no harm.” Drawing from The Epistle to the Romans 12, John Wesley's 18th-century teachings, and our current cultural moment, we reflect on what it means to be a community that resists perpetuating harm—whether in personal relationships or systemic injustices. This practice isn't about easy rules but about honest self-reflection, naming the harm we've caused, and choosing to live differently. In this beautifully grounded episode, I'm joined by one of my original teachers, the brilliant Caroline Gaskin — homeopath, educator, and one of the most inspiring voices in women's health and homeopathy. We talk about how she first discovered homeopathy through her children, the drop-in clinics that made it accessible to everyone, and what 25 years of practice have taught her about health, energy, and trust.Caroline shares stories of real-life cases — from coughs and whooping cough to menopause and chronic fatigue — and explains how she blends Narayani combination remedies, bush flower essences, nutrition, and frequency tools like the Healy in her practice. We also explore: ✨ Why classical and combination prescribing can coexist beautifully ✨ How our environment, soil, and light affect hormonal balance ✨ Simple ways to support the liver and mineral balance naturally ✨ What she'd give the whole of humanity right now (her answer will make you smile)This conversation is full of practical wisdom, gentle humour, and the reminder that healing is never just one thing. It's about energy, integrity, and how we use our attention.More information on Caroline:For Workshops, Webinars & Masterclasses visit hereCaroline's Natural Menopause Worskhop click hereCaroline's Homeopathy Membership visit hereCaroline's Instgram page hereCaroline Gaskin MCPH - Caroline has been in practice for 25 years and is a much-loved lecturer and tutor. Like many women, she came to natural health through her children and first used homeopathy when her son was just 4m old. He had a cough and the GP offered him a sedative. Caroline knew instinctively that she didn't want to give medicine with unwanted side effects and instead went to see a homeopath at a drop in clinic. The homeopath wanted to know ‘how' the cough was for him and what he was like as a person. Caroline was fascinated by the difference of approach and the remedies worked. Homeopathy soon became the family's primary health choice. When her children were old enough she went on to study homeopathy and flower essences. Originally from a fine art background, she has also worked in PR for complementary health and has studied permaculture and sustainable systems.Lisa's brand new practitioner course on which Caroline is a guest lecturer - check it out hereSend us a text Want the inside scoop on Lisa's game-changing Practitioner-level course launching in January 2026? This past Sunday, we invited one another to re-center amid the noise and chaos of our world. As we began the new sermon series “Simple Rules for a Chaotic World,” we reflected on how boundaries, obedience, and accountability shape the way we show up in uncertain times. Over the next few weeks, we'll be exploring what it means to cultivate simple rules for our lives — to do no harm, do good, and attend to the ordinances of God — as we seek to live with intention, compassion, and grace. Sebastian Gaskin is a musician from Tataskweyak Cree Nation in Manitoba who fuses his culture with R&B, rock and pop music. Earlier this year, he joined Tom Power to talk about his debut album, “Lovechild,” how he came around to embrace his Indigenous identity in his art, and why writing joyful and hopeful songs is just as important to him as writing political songs.
This past Sunday, we concluded our sermon series on generosity by examining the power of naming our “so that”—the passions that drive us—and taking steps to bring them to life. We look at Jesus' prayer for God's kin-dom to come “on earth as it is in heaven” and what it means to pray for tomorrow's bread today. Together, we imagine a community that mends what is broken, embraces diversity, and embodies hope and generosity in the world. We're in week three of our series “So That”, exploring what it means to live generously — not just when the timing feels right, but as an intentional way of life. In this message, we look at Ephesians and Paul's vision for a diverse, unified community shaped by grace. God's generosity is not just something we receive but something we embody — SO THAT our lives can be poured out for the good of others. Today we continue our "So That" Series" where we dig into what it really means to be generous — not just with money, but with the kind of life we are building. We look honestly at why money makes us uncomfortable, where the idea of “tithing” comes from, and why generosity is about more than just following rules. This conversation invites you to name your own “so that” — the reason behind your giving, your choices, and the story you want to tell with your life and community. In this first week of our new series “So That,” we explore what it means to embody generosity, especially with our finances. Many of us carry stress, baggage, and even harmful church narratives around money, yet Jesus invites us to trust God's provision and live generously now—not someday when life feels easier. What story do you want your life to tell, and what steps can you take so that generosity becomes part of that story?
