In this episode, Michelle and I get vulnerable about the emotional rollercoaster of creating your passion project. We dig into why she started creating her documentary, Running Home, the ups and downs of the process and her thoughts to other fellow creatives. This episode was a personal one for me as she and I shared about our personal experiences of dealing with depression and anxiety. I share about the very unexpected emotional rollercoaster I was experiencing while starting to actually create my dream projects. This is such a incredible heart-to-heart episode between two creatives and I hope that if you're a fellow change maker, you know you're not alone when you're experiencing your own personal rollercoaster!

(#7) What I Learned Through Hurt & Heartbreak in Relationships

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 7, 2019 14:07

This episode is personal and I share openly about what I learned in the last year about hurt and pain that happens in relationships- family, romantic, friends. One of my favourite quotes is by CS Lewis and he talks about love and heartbreak. “To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable.”
