True stories from people suffering from heart disease, how they were diagnosed or not diagnosed, how it is affecting their lives and how doctors might misdiagnose this affliction as anxiety or stress. This is a really good support group on FB - Prinzmetal
Listen to how Astride describes how as a child aged 10 in Haiti, where there was limited medical access, she was told she had Syncope. Then she was even told that she would be prescribed medication for being 'crazy', even though she had been having issues with chest pain and not being able to run about as normal. After moving to the US, she was able to find a doctor who was able to help her. However, she had a heart attack at 29, and didn't even know that she had had one and then after that, she was diagnosed with CAS.
Linda shares her story. Linda has no obstructions in her arteries but still suffers from Coronary Arterial Spasms. It's a less common form of CAS and it happens when your heart's arteries just inappropriately constrict. Or it could be when an artery is squeezed by the overlying heart muscle. However, she takes the same kind of medications as those with obstructions.
Listen to how MaryAnn's issues started in her childhood and then as an adult suffered from heart attacks and finally getting a diagnosis of CAS. She is also an admin for the Facebook Group: Prinzmetal/Coronary Artery Spasm Support Group.
Listen to Catherine's story of a long journey to being diagnosed with CAS. Convincing herself it was probably gastro intestinal, which of course was confirmed by doctors, to ultimately having an experience which changed everything.
Listen to Shane's story and how he had rather a 'violent' introduction, as he put it, to being diagnosed with Coronary Arterial Spasms.
Listen to Svetlana as she recounts being told that her symptoms were gastro intestinal, then anxiety, until finally getting a diagnosis just recently for CAS.
Liz from Phoenix, Arizona, tells us about her experiences from being told it was asthma to finally getting a real diagnosis. A very interesting story, have a listen.
Charmaine describes her account of how she felt something was wrong, getting different kinds of tests and finally getting properly diagnosed with Vasospasm.
