Messages from Hilltop UMC worship and other events
§ Know who you are and live into the fullness of your purpose with GOD. § You are the salt of the earth. You are the light of the world. § We are challenged by Christ our Savior to be even better salt and light to the world than those who have come before us! Through the wisdom of God, the Great Commission of Christ and power of the Holy Spirit, we can, we must for the sake of the world.
Jesus called the disciple to follow his lead so they might later lead his followers. Jesus' wants his followers to impact the world by casting a different net.
We may plot paths to accomplish our own agenda; meanwhile God may be moving by another road.
Trust is the foundation of real love. Trust God’s promise.
Advent is a season of anticipation and expectation as we await the coming of Christ. However, do we think about Christ’s expectations of us upon his return. He is coming with expectation that his people are living by the same faith he employed. As we pray “Come, Jesus Come”, we must prepare to meet His expectations upon his return. He is coming!
God’s prophetic word through Jeremiah is a clarion call for our time. Rather than trust and obey, the ancient people chose to go their own way. Considering the current state of the world, WE must ask, “What have we done?”
We truly worship God by obedience not rote ritual. We worship God through earnest advocacy for others; seeking wholeness for all of creation. Joy comes through obedience, not self-selected sacrifice. Isaiah calls us to authentically join God’s work in the world. Let’s keep it real.
In a world that puts forth lots of different faces and asks us to wear different hats on different occasions, we must be mindful of our truth as followers of Christ. Despite the world’s demands, we must be properly dress in our walk through this world.
The world bombards us with its persuasive ways that we might fill ourselves with projected desires. But we are new creatures living in the fullness of Christ. It's a wonderful life.
