In [a difficult] season, [my husband and I] needed to lean on each other and on God and get through it, and we realized we actually needed to let people in.” - Jenny Marrs "[God] works through us; He works through our inadequacies, and often when we don't want to do it, He can—even if we think there's no way." - Jenny Marrs "Identifying and spotting God's hand in all of it–the mundane, the hard, the beautiful, the mountain tops—all of those different experiences—we can spot His hand in that." - Jenny Marrs "I want my kids to be able to look back at the faithfulness of God in their lives that they didn't even know about before they were born and have that moving forward." - Jenny Marrs “I was introduced at an early age to both sides of the tracks—seeing Waylon with the security guards and the Cadillac and the Jaguar and the big house and [being a] successful country music icon. And then going back to my dad’s side of the family that lived in West Nashville who worked nine to fives and lived right at that poverty line.” - Struggle Jennings “I was caught up in that world—gangs and drugs and a lot of the beliefs like, Feed your family by any means necessary. It’s okay to do wrong if you’re doing it for the right reason—those types of things that I had to eventually strip myself of.” - Struggle Jennings “Many times God showed His face and showed His favor, even though I didn’t know why, because I didn’t understand what my purpose was.” - Struggle Jennings “I knew that I finally had to strip down and take full responsibility and accountability and say, ‘This is my fault. I can’t blame the judge. I can’t blame the person that snitched on me. I can’t blame my circumstances or the cards I was dealt. I have the opportunity to turn this around.’” - Struggle Jennings “I just really felt that God had a plan for me, and I wasn’t going to take it for granted.” - Struggle Jennings “Even the times that I had doubts, it was the responsibility to God and to my fans and to my children [that kept me going]. When you’re purpose-driven and you have a reason for getting up every day and you know you’re living in God’s glory and God’s mercy, you have that strength and that confidence that I’ve made it through a lot of things and I don’t know what’s ahead of me, but I know that if I keep moving in the right direction with love in my heart and God in my heart, it’s going to work out okay. God gives His greatest warriors the toughest battles.” - Struggle Jennings ________________________ Enjoy watching these additional videos from Jesus Calling YouTube channel! This week's episode is coming to you straight from the hospital with my child. The sound might be different, but the message is the same: God is faithful—even here.In today's short reflection, I share how quickly life shifted for our family, what God has been doing in the middle of the chaos, and how faith deepens in hard seasons of motherhood. You'll hear real stories of His provision—moved appointments, kind helpers, even hospital laundry—and the reminder that trusting God during hardship and surrendering control are powerful ways to find peace in chaos. If you've been walking a hallway of your own—whether it's fear, waiting, or uncertainty—this short encouragement for overwhelmed moms will help you pause, breathe, and remember that God's goodness and faithfulness are steady, even when life feels unpredictable.
In today's video, we're joined by Pastor Steve Clifford to talk about this concept and how it's played out in his own life. Steve talks about how “whatever happens” has been an anchoring concept for him as he's walked through loss and transition. He works not to manufacture shining, but to simply live with confidence that God is shaping his life. Operating this way is a daily choice to trust that God is present. Together, we can do the same by acknowledging our life's goodness isn't determined by our circumstances… but by the One we serve. In this special "No Fear Fall" series kickoff episode, Heather Creekmore digs deep into the connection between faith and fear—two powerful forces that shape our daily lives. Have you ever wondered why “faith over fear” doesn’t always seem to work in real life? Are you struggling to connect your big beliefs about God to your everyday worries and anxieties? This episode is for you. What This Episode Covers: Faith vs. Fear: Heather challenges the widely held belief that faith and fear are simply opposites in a tug-of-war. She explores why this dichotomy might not be the most helpful way for Christians to approach their struggles. Micro Fears and Mosquito Bites: From perfectionism and the fear of failure to tiny, everyday anxieties (like being the “fattest person in the room” or just being late), Heather shares how these micro-fears sap our joy and confidence. Applying Faith to Real Life: Learn why just telling yourself to "have more faith" doesn't always solve the problem—and what true, biblical faith actually looks like in the face of daily struggles. The Object of Your Faith: Is your faith in God’s character and goodness, or just in Him delivering the results you want? Heather unpacks the difference and warns against letting new age manifesting ideas creep into our beliefs. Practical Biblical Encouragement: Heather references Philippians 4 and the life of Abraham to illustrate that faith can be messy, imperfect, and still deeply meaningful. She offers encouragement to keep trusting, even when God’s answers aren’t what you hoped for. Takeaways: Real, life-changing faith is rooted in the character of God—not in specific outcomes or your own plans. It's okay to bring your desires to God, but hold them with open hands, trusting His greater wisdom and love for you. Even imperfect faith holds value; God honors hearts that keep coming back to Him. Join us for Day1 Episode 4203 featuring Rev. Dr. Charles Qualls, senior pastor of Franklin Baptist Church in Franklin, VA. In his sermon “Called to Trust God,” based on 2 Kings 5:1-14, Dr. Qualls reflects on Naaman's healing and the importance of asking “why” rather than “how” when it comes to faith. Exploring themes of trust, humility, and God's surprising ways, this message speaks to the heart of Proper 23, the 18th Sunday after Pentecost.

I used to believe I had to wait - for the right time, the perfect moment, or until I felt more qualified. But here's what God has been showing me: sometimes the invitation is already on the table… we just haven't picked it up yet.In this episode, I share a simple moment at a local café that turned into a powerful reminder - we often count ourselves out of spaces that God is already calling us into.In this episode on how to trust God instead of your insecurities, we will be diving into:✦ How fear, scarcity, or doubt may be quietly holding you back ✦ Biblical encouragement from Moses, Sarah, and more✦ What it looks like to operate from trust instead of hesitation ✦ How to shift from “saving” to savoring your lifeYou don't need to be famous, fearless, or have it figured out to walk boldly in your calling. You just need to say yes.

MERIMNAO: root word is the idea of your MIND BEING DIVIDED in 100 different directions.Matthew 6:25a “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life…“The presence of anxiety is unavoidable, but the prison of anxiety is optional.”—Max LucadoMatthew 6:25b what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? The root issue of anxiety is our desire for CONTROL.At the core of anxiety is the DESIRE to CONTROL that which WE CAN'T CONTROL.Where are you trying to be in control?Matthew 6:26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? What you are trying to CONTROL the MOST reveals where you TRUST GOD the LEAST.Where you TRUST God the LEAST is what you will WORRY about MOST.HENCE: What you WORRY about the most often reveals where you TRUST God the least.Matthew 6:27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?Worry never helps SOLVE tomorrow's problems, it only ROBS today of its joy.Matthew 6:34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.“No man ever sank under the burden of the day. It is when tomorrow's burden is added to the burden of today, that the weight is more than a man can bear.”—George Macdonald.Matthew 6:31-32 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?' or ‘What shall we drink?' or ‘What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Our WEAK SPOT with worry is often a STRONGHOLD where we haven't put God first.Matthew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.1. What are you trying to CONTROL the most?2. How can you start PUTTING GOD FIRST in that area of your life today? Our weak spot with worry is often a stronghold where we have not put God first.

SHOW NOTES Psalm 77 captures the tension of grief: raw sorrow and anchored hope. Verses 1–10 give space to lament and reminds you God listens. Verses 11–20 invite us to remember. This pattern can help you process grief while building trust in God's faithfulness. Key Takeaways You are allowed to question, cry, and feel overwhelmed (v.1–10). God doesn't turn away from your brokenness. Remembering God's past faithfulness—your “Faith Resume”—can anchor your hope in the storm. Action Step Create your own Faith Resume. Write down the moments when God carried you. Let those memories breathe life into your present and future. Other Verses to Hold on to: Lamentations 3:21–23 – “Yet I call this to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord's faithful love we do not perish…” Isaiah 43:2 – “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you...”
The Fall of Man (Genesis 2:25–3:7)Genesis 3 is a pivotal moment in Scripture when Adam and Eve chose to believe the lies of Satan rather than trust the will of God. Satan's work has always been to draw us away from God—through doubt, half-truths, and deception. Adam and Eve's choice in the garden was not just their story; it's ours too. As Romans 3:23 reminds us, "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."To understand our own sin, we must first understand the first sin. What does their rebellion teach us about the danger of Satan's lies? At the heart of every temptation is an invitation to reject God and trust the deceiver instead of the Creator. This text teaches three vital lessons: the need to trust God's wisdom, trust His word, and trust His design. This sermon explains from Genesis 2:25–3:7, the pivotal scripture detailing the Fall of Man and the origin of sin. It explores the theological foundations of this passage, how Satan's lies led Adam and Eve to rebellion, and the profound consequences that changed the human condition forever. Understanding this first sin is crucial for understanding one's own sin and God's work of redemption.Sermon Outline: Three Ways We Must Trust GodI. Trust God's Wisdom (Genesis 3:1-3)II. Trust God's Word (Genesis 3:4-5)III. Trust God's Design (Genesis 3:6-7)Find Out More:Ben Smith is the pastor of Central Baptist Church, Waycross, GA.Additional podcasts, books, and downloadable PDFs of Pastor Ben's sermon outlines and manuscripts are available at http://bensmithsr.org.You can find information about Central Baptist Church at cbcwaycross.org.This sermon was originally preached on 9/21/2025.

Send us a textAfter years in the desert, the Israelites grumble again when water runs out. Later, as the people complain, poisonous snakes sweep through the camp. God gives a surprising rescue plan. Moses lifts a bronze snake on a pole, and everyone who looks in faith is healed. The teaching completes the study of the seven feasts of the Lord, focusing on the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot). Emphasis: these are God's feasts, not merely Israel's—they reveal His plan for the whole world. Christ fulfilled the spring feasts through His life, death, and resurrection; the fall feasts point to His return and final harvest. Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, and Tabernacles Feast of Trumpets: The “alarm” call to repentance, beginning the 10 “Days of Awe.” Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur): High priest entered the Holy of Holies once a year to make atonement for Israel—foreshadowing Christ's ultimate sacrifice. Imagery: veil, bells and pomegranates on priest's robe, blood covering the mercy seat → fulfilled in Jesus' death and resurrection. Feast of Tabernacles: Commemoration of deliverance from Egypt, dwelling in booths, God's provision in the wilderness. Prophetic picture of final harvest and God “tabernacling” with His people in the future kingdom. Prophetic and End-Time Insights Tabernacles points to: Final Harvest: ingathering of nations (Revelation 14, Ezekiel 37). Protection and Provision: God shelters Israel in tribulation. Messiah's Reign: Christ dwelling with His people, fulfilling Ezekiel's promise. The Antichrist will desecrate the rebuilt temple mid-tribulation; Israel's eyes will be opened, leading to great tribulation. God will intervene, bringing judgment (wrath poured out in righteousness). Nations will be judged based on their stance toward Israel; blessing or cursing depends on alignment with God's covenant. Jerusalem in Prophecy Central focus: Jerusalem is the stumbling block for nations. Zechariah 14: God will defend Jerusalem, split the Mount of Olives, and establish His reign. Nations that resist worship during the Millennial Kingdom will face plagues and drought. The Feast of Tabernacles continues into the Millennium as a required festival for all nations. Application & Encouragement Believers must live ready for Christ's return—watching, not waiting for signs like the rebuilding of the temple before repenting. Call to repentance, intercession, and readiness: Repent like Israel's days of awe. Witness faithfully to the lost. Trust God's plan, even for loved ones not yet saved. Reminder: God loves the lost more than we do—Christ intercedes even now. Closing Notes Festivals reveal God's redemptive plan: past (fulfilled in Christ), present (salvation available now), and future (His return and reign). Encouragement: keep faith, pray for the lost, and be filled with hope as the end of the age approaches.

God knows that when we're in the wilderness, it can be hard for us to trust Him. When things aren't going well and the problems seem overwhelming, God knows that we will be tempted to believe that He forgot us. This morning, we'll look at some of the gifts God gives His people to help us stay faithful to Him in the wilderness. - Pastor Ron KoolSupport the show
This is part 2 of "Make It Make Sense," our series at Fusion Christian Church where we ask difficult questions and look for biblical answers. In week 2 of the series, Pastor Zac teaches how to deal with suffering in our lives.Suffering follows evil.Suffering is a consequence of the fall of creation as described in Genesis 3. Because humans sinned, we all experience the consequences of that sin through suffering and pain. While some choose to blame God, each of us has committed more than enough sin to deserve our own pain. Though choosing to blame God is tempting, there are some things we should remember about the God we would accuse.Jesus entered our suffering on the cross. The God who some choose to accuse of evil is the very God who entered into creation to suffer an excruciating death on our behalf. We do not have a God who is distant or uncaring, but a God who experienced human suffering in full. Therefore God is able to understand our weaknesses and sympathize with us. Not only this, but God can strengthen us in our time of need. Remember that God is able to take what was meant for evil and turn it for good. In light of this, how should we respond when we face suffering?Worship God - in suffering and in joy. When we experience intense suffering, the last thing we may want to do is praise God, but it helps. As shocking as it may be, choosing to praise God through the trials instills hope when we would otherwise despair. To help in times of trouble, train yourself to praise him in the hills so you are ready to praise in the valleys.Let suffering open your heart and eyes to see God more clearly.Paradoxically, God's goodness is revealed most clearly in our suffering. If we choose to praise him through it, we can feel his comfort and learn to know him more closely.Don't let suffering crush you - let God use it to make you stronger.Suffering can easily cause us to turn bitter. That temptation is strong. Choose, however, to let God strengthen you through the experience instead. Trust God to lead you through it and you will end up stronger in faith because of it.Remember: suffering in this world is temporary for the Christian. This world is not all there is, but rather the Christian has hope for the next one. There will come a day when God will wipe away every tear and set all things right. God is loving and just, and he will both establish justice and save his people.Use your experience to comfort others. When we experience trials, we should remember them so that we might comfort others in the same situation. Our trials are not ours alone, but they equip us to help others when they face similar circumstances. Whatever the pain you face, trust in God to deliver you through it.

It doesn't take much time for God to do a miracle, to get you from sorrow to joy, from pain to purpose, from let down to set up. God can do this and so much more as we are willing to be still and trust Him with the load we can't carry in our own strength. He has a way of making our path straight after there was none in sight. As we wrap up this month and season, I wanted to encourage you with this word and prayer. Be blessed and never stop trusting God. You have a miracle story in transit. Meditated scriptures: Psalm 126:1-2, Psalm 46:10, Hebrews 13:8, Philippians 1:6. This year we are praying more people would hear such messages, to be stirred to read God's word to live the life He always destined them to live, including having the right spouse and marriage He desired for them to have. If you enjoyed our series, “ Dating & Marriage Prerequisites, you don't want to miss our live session this year, “ Kingdom Relationships 2.0.” We'd love to meet you and exhort you in person. Have you ever noticed how so-called “unexpected expenses” always seem to show up at the worst time? The truth is, most of these costs aren't surprises at all—we know cars will break down, homes will need repairs, and Christmas comes every year. The key is not to panic when they arrive but to prepare ahead of time. One simple tool for this is the sinking fund.Scripture has much to say about preparation. Proverbs 21:20 tells us, “Precious treasure and oil are in a wise man's dwelling, but a foolish man devours it.” In other words, wisdom means setting aside resources now instead of consuming everything immediately. We also see this principle in Genesis 41, where Joseph, warned of famine, stored one-fifth of Egypt's grain during the years of plenty. His preparation wasn't random—it was steady and systematic. That's exactly how sinking funds work: consistent contributions toward expenses we know will eventually arise. What Is a Sinking Fund?A sinking fund is money you intentionally set aside for a specific future expense. Instead of panicking at a $1,200 Christmas bill, you save $100 per month all year. Instead of reaching for a credit card when your car needs new tires, you draw from the fund you've been building. This steady, disciplined approach provides freedom from debt and peace of mind when expenses come due. It's not glamorous, but it works.Proverbs 6:6–8 points us to the ant as an example of diligence: “Without having any chief, officer, or ruler, she prepares her bread in summer and gathers her food in harvest.” The ant doesn't wait until the snow falls to collect food—she steadily prepares in advance.Trusting God doesn't mean ignoring preparation. Noah trusted God, yet he still built the ark. Farmers trusted God, yet they sowed seed. Joseph trusted God, yet he stored grain. Faith and stewardship go hand in hand.Where to StartIf you're new to sinking funds, begin with one category. Break down the expense into monthly contributions:Car repairs & replacement—Tires, brakes, or even a future vehicle.Home maintenance—Roofs, furnaces, and appliances all wear out.Medical costs—Co-pays, deductibles, or out-of-pocket expenses.Gifts & holidays—Birthdays and Christmas come every year.Insurance premiums & taxes—Annual or quarterly payments made manageable.Even small amounts—like $25 per month—add up to create margin. Over time, your “storehouses” will be ready when needs arise. In 1 Corinthians 16:2, Paul urged believers to set aside money regularly in proportion to their income to meet the church's needs. This is essentially a spiritual sinking fund—planned, systematic stewardship for Kingdom purposes. The goal isn't to hoard resources. Jesus warns in Luke 12:16–21 against stockpiling for ourselves. Instead, sinking funds free us to live responsibly and bless others without fear.Faith Expressed Through StewardshipChoose one sinking fund today. Maybe start with Christmas: divide your expected costs into monthly pieces and begin saving now. Once you've built the habit, add another fund. Before long, you'll have a system that turns stress into confidence and panic into peace.Creating sinking funds is more than a budgeting trick—it's a spiritual discipline. Each small deposit is an act of faith, demonstrating that you trust God by stewarding His provision wisely. Preparation doesn't replace faith—it reflects it.So start planning today. Build sinking funds for tomorrow. Trust God with the outcome. And remember: faith isn't just believing God will provide when the bill arrives—it's also honoring Him by preparing with the resources He has already placed in your hands. On Today's Program, Rob Answers Listener Questions:I'm retired but still working a few days a week. What happens when life delivers not one, but two devastating blows that leave you bedridden and questioning everything you thought you knew about God's goodness? Today's guest, Darci Steiner, knows this journey intimately. An author, inspirational speaker, and nutritionist, Darci faced her first major disability in 2001 after a life-threatening fall down the stairs that left her unable to walk or care for her young children. Just as she rebuilt her life—earning her Master's degree in Holistic Nutrition while bedridden and eventually experiencing complete healing—a second injury in 2018 brought her back to square one. But rather than break her, these twin trials became the foundation for profound spiritual growth and her award-winning book, "Beauty Beyond the Thorns: Discovering Gifts in Suffering." In today's conversation, Darci shares how she learned to differentiate between treating God like a genie in a bottle versus developing genuine trust, the practical steps that built her resilience five minutes at a time, and why she believes suffering can be a treasure hunt that draws us closer to God's heart. Her story is a masterclass in turning pain outward and finding purpose beyond our circumstances.Beauty Beyond the Thorns: Discovering Gifts in SufferingAmazon.comhttps://www.amazon.com › Beauty-Beyond-Thorns-Dis...Email Darci for speaking engagements: darci@darcijsteiner.comhttps://www.darcijsteiner.comDue to a video issue, only Mark's audio is available in this episode. Thanks for joining us for this podcast!
