Scripture for Meditation 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 KJV 7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. ESV 7 So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. 9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. Reflection on Scripture: Today I gave an invocation prayer for an event for an organization that supports military service members. The person who runs it has done some really amazing things for the servicemembers I have worked with in the past so I was glad to support. The main speaker was a man who served in Vietnam in many incredibly brutal situations. He had led his men in combat and now was telling some of these stories for the first time ever. He was a powerful speaker but it was clear he was working through challenging memories. He was very determined but each person, regardless of their strength, struggles with things. Most of the time we have no decision or input on what thing it is that will challenge us most. This man harnessed that fear of telling his story resulting in a profoundly moving speech.  Paul was not immune to having struggles and even one that he felt extremely vexed by. Paul had amazing visions and gifts from God, and yet he struggled in ways that had him imploring God for help. And yet God did not give it in the way that Paul asked for. Without even knowing yoru situation I can guess that you have things that at times feel heavy for you to bear. Perhaps that is rare or incredibly frequent. If you are being honest though you have troubles. This is the message from God. Use that weakness to draw you closer to God and accept that all things can work together for the good of those who love God.There can be strength in that weakness. It reminds us of our need for God. God's strength is made perfect in our weakness. WE are shown the Mercy of God most when we need it. We may be a way off from what  Many times we see only struggle and we dont see the good it does in us. Embrace the truth Paul teaches. WE can rejoice in the perfection of God. Just because you don't get to choose your struggle doesn't mean you have no choice in how to work through it. The resounding solution to that question is found in this scripture. Trust God. Lean on His strength and He will make you stronger than you could imagine  Meditation of Prayer: Pray as directed by the Spirit. Dedicate these moments to the patient waiting, when you feel ready ask God for understanding you desire from Him. Genesis 24 is one of the most richly layered stories in all of Scripture, and once we see the deeper picture it paints, it becomes impossible to read it the same way again. On the surface, it is the story of a faithful servant sent on a long journey to find a bride for his master's son. But beneath that, it is nothing less than a portrait of redemption itself. The unnamed servant mirrors the role of the Holy Spirit, who never draws attention to himself but points always toward the Son. The father who sends him reflects God the Father. And Isaac, waiting at home, represents Christ. Every detail, from the servant's humble prayer at the well to the extravagant gifts he carries, speaks to the lengths God goes to in pursuit of his bride. That bride, it turns out, is us. We are Rebekah in this story. And understanding that changes everything about how we see our worth, our calling, and the love God has lavished on us.## Sermon Notes: Genesis 24 — “I Will Go”### Main Text: Genesis 24  Genesis 24 tells the story of Abraham sending his servant to find a bride for Isaac. Pastor Rick presented this as a picture of God's redemptive plan.### 1. The Redemptive Picture in Genesis 22–24- **Genesis 22:** Abraham offers Isaac on Mount Moriah, pointing to the Father giving His Son, Jesus, at Calvary.- **Genesis 23:** Sarah dies, picturing Israel as the bride connected to the Father.- **Genesis 24:** The unnamed servant is sent to find a bride for the son, picturing the Holy Spirit calling the Church, the Bride of Christ.### 2. Abraham's Servant: Faithful and Humble- The servant is likely Eliezer, Abraham's longtime servant.- Though Isaac's birth cost him the inheritance, he remained faithful.- He does not seek attention for himself; he seeks success for his master.- This reflects the Holy Spirit, who testifies of Christ and glorifies the Son.### 3. Isaac Must Not Go Back- Abraham commands the servant not to take Isaac back to Abraham's former land.- God had promised the land to Abraham's offspring.- The bride must choose to come, but the son will not return to the old land.- This mirrors the call of Christ: “Forsake all and follow Me.”### 4. Rebekah's Choice- The servant prays for a clear sign: a woman who offers him water and waters his camels.- Before he finishes praying, Rebekah appears.- She is generous, diligent, and willing to serve.- Watering ten camels could have required 200–300 gallons of water.- The servant recognizes God's guidance and worships.### 5. “Do Not Delay Me”- Rebekah's family wants her to stay ten more days.- The servant insists that if God has prospered the way, they should not delay.- Rebekah is asked directly, and she responds: **“I will go.”**- This is the heart of the sermon: when God calls, our answer should be immediate obedience.### 6. We Are Rebekah- Rebekah represents the Bride of Christ.- The Holy Spirit calls us and gives us gifts as a preview of what is to come.- God sees His people as beautiful, loved, and chosen.- The story points forward to the marriage supper of the Lamb.## Practical Applications- Do not delay obedience when the Holy Spirit calls.- Stop looking back after putting your hand to the plow.- Serve faithfully even when there is no personal reward.- Trust God's guidance, even when the journey is long.- Remember: in Christ, God sees you as His beloved bride, not as your failures.## Discussion Questions1. Full Transcript Below: Staying Strong, Not Stressed By Cindi McMenamin Bible Reading:Even before there is a word on my tongue,Behold, Lord, You know it all (Psalm 139:4 NASB). Stress—whether it’s physical, emotional, relational, or financial—can take its toll on any of us. But how do we handle stress so we don’t push others away from us? I used to find myself reaching out to my husband or my young adult daughter to get the relief, encouragement, or support I needed to get through stressful times. I would provide explanations for my stressed-out behavior and seek their understanding. But I’ve learned through the years that having such expectations of others can backfire. You and I can push our marriages over the edge if we let our spouses know they are not meeting our emotional needs or expectations at a time when they might be dealing with multiple frustrations as well. We can also damage our relationships with our children—regardless of their ages—when we expect them to be there for us, emotionally, when they might not feel equipped to do what it is we are expecting of them, or respond in a way that will meet our emotional needs. There have been many times in the past several years that I’ve had to make a conscious decision not to lay my expectations on my husband or daughter when I’ve felt particularly stressed, regardless of the source. And as I began to take my troubles and stressful times to God first, I found that I was not only more able and stable to deal with whatever came my way, but I could help others in my family through whatever they were going through, as well. David sang in Psalm 139:4 that God knows everything we are going to say, even before there is a word on our tongues. He knows our thoughts before we think them, our words before we say them, and our actions before we carry them out. Certainly, a God like that is the One we should be going to first when we begin to feel stressed. Intersecting Faith & Life: Today, when stress starts rearing its ugly head in my life, I practice these “Three T’s” on a daily basis to stay strong during difficult times: Tell God First—Sometimes you and I need to vent or just talk aloud about what we’re feeling. But our frustrations can come across as accusations or complaints if we’re not careful. And since it is natural for others who love and care about us to try to find a solution to fix our stressful situation, when we just wanted someone to listen, it’s better to go to God with the venting first. Sure, God already knows what we’re going to say, according to Psalm 139:4. But by telling God first all that is on our hearts and minds, He can be the “buffer.” Trust God’s Promises—The Bible is full of God’s promises about His provision and protection. So, when we become troubled about finances, or a work deadline, or health issues, we can find comfort just by remembering some of God’s encouraging words to His people. In Philippians 4:19, Paul says, “My God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” And Romans 8:28 tells us, “we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Keep stress sidelined by banking on the promises in the Bible and taking God at His Word. Thank God Constantly—No matter what the situation, there’s always something to be thankful for. One of my friends was discouraged that her husband’s new job didn’t pay as well as his previous one. But some income was better than none. Another friend complained about her teenager’s disinterest in school and his unwillingness to "apply himself,” yet he was still very interested in his church's youth group. We can become people of praise with a contagious positive attitude when we obey God’s command in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 to “give thanks in all circumstances.” A thankful spouse, parent, or friend is pleasant to be around. When you and I practice these three T’s—telling God first, trusting His promises, and thanking Him constantly—our circumstances might not change immediately. But by depending on God—and not solely on others—we can not only alleviate the stress in our lives, but we can become encouragers who model to others how to handle stress in their lives as well. Isolation is a feeling that does not have to be your reality. Trust God in this season of your life!

Three daughters in the car, ranging in age from seven to twelve, navigating a conversation about Moses, the book of Acts, and the Lord's Prayer — and then, just as the theology is getting genuinely rich, the seven-year-old pipes up with the most pressing question on her mind: "But Mom, what are we going to have for supper?" It is the kind of moment that makes a parent both laugh and wonder: is any of this actually getting through? Discipling children and the next generation rarely looks like a carefully curated, Pinterest-worthy moment. It looks like car rides and half-finished conversations and questions that reveal both curiosity and distraction in equal measure. And yet Isaiah 55:11 holds a promise that steadies every parent, teacher, mentor, and youth leader who has ever wondered whether the seeds they are planting are making any difference: God's Word will not return empty. It will accomplish what He desires and achieve the purpose for which He sent it. The impact of sharing Scripture, praying with and over children, and talking openly about faith is never determined by how much they appear to absorb in the moment. God is always at work, on His timetable and according to His plan, using our faithful obedience to shape the next generation. What a privilege it is, like Isaiah, to co-labor with Him in that work — car conversations and supper questions and all. Today's Bible Verse "So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."— Isaiah 55:11, NIV Ponder Today God's Word never returns empty, even when it appears to go unabsorbed. What looks like a distracted seven-year-old or a disengaged teenager does not limit what God can do with the truth that has been spoken over them. He is always at work. Discipleship happens in ordinary moments, not just intentional ones. Car rides, meal times, bedtime routines — these are the spaces where faith is most naturally and powerfully passed from one generation to the next. We are invited to co-labor with God in shaping the next generation. That is not a burden — it is a profound privilege. We plant and water, and God brings the growth, in His timing and according to His purposes. Age is not a barrier to engaging children with the deep things of faith. A seven-year-old asking about the Trinity and a twelve-year-old learning to share the gospel are both evidence that children are far more capable of meaningful spiritual engagement than we often assume. Trust God's timetable, not your own measurement of impact. The conversations that seem to go nowhere, the questions that land with a thud, the seeds that show no visible growth — God is using all of it. Romans 8:28 assures us He is working it all for good. A Prayer for You Today Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your Word. Help me to abide in it daily so that I will be prepared to share with others, especially the next generation. I ask that Your truth will penetrate the hearts and minds of those who hear it, bringing conviction and a desire to know You. Give me the knowledge and encouragement to keep talking with the children in my life about You, their faith, and the Scriptures, even when I wonder whether they are comprehending or even listening. I know that Your Word never returns empty, and I trust that You are always at work — in ways I can see and in ways I cannot. In Jesus' name, Amen. Want More?

What do you do when you're trusting God, but you still don't know what's next? But Scripture reminds us that our security was never meant to come from knowing the future—it comes from knowing the God who already holds it. I'm sharing three reminders for navigating seasons of uncertainty: 1. Trust and faith grow in the waiting, not just in the answer. God doesn't always give us the entire roadmap. Often, He gives us enough light for the next step. We look at the stories of Abraham, Moses, Ruth, and Joseph and how they each had to take faithful steps without knowing exactly where God was leading them. 2. Fear gets loud when the future feels quiet. When we don't have answers, our minds can quickly fill in the blanks with worst-case scenarios. Lindsay shares a simple question to use when worry begins to spiral: “What do I actually know to be true today?” 3. God's presence is often greater than His explanation. Sometimes we desperately want God to explain why something is happening, but instead, He reminds us that He is with us. Lindsay shares personally about walking through life after losing her husband, Brandon, and the ways she has seen God's faithfulness through His provision, people, strength, and presence. You may not know what tomorrow holds. You may not have the answers you're asking God for yet. But you can know the One who holds tomorrow. What would happen if you stopped trying to control the outcome and truly trusted God with every area of your life? In this powerful conversation, Reagan Kramer sits down with bestselling author, speaker, and radio host Susie Larson to talk about her new book, More Than You Can Imagine: What God Does When You Trust Him. Susie shares why trusting God is more than simply believing He is faithful—it is making the decision to surrender, obey, rest, and follow Him even when the path is difficult or the outcome is unclear. Susie opens up about seasons when her own trust in God was tested, including a powerful story about nearly walking away from speaking because of fear, physical challenges, and concern about what other people might think. Reagan and Susie also explore how the enemy attacks our identity to undermine our trust, why the "little things" can sometimes be harder than the big challenges, and how we can challenge thoughts that don't line up with what Scripture says about who we are. As moms, our worry often comes from a very real place of love. We care deeply about our children, so it can feel almost impossible to let go of the fear of what might happen to them. But God never asked you to control your children's future. He has called you to faithfully love, guide, teach, pray for, and point them toward Him—while trusting Him with what only He can do. Today, I share three biblical reminders to help you when worry about your kids begins taking over: 1. Your job is faithfulness, not control. You can be a faithful mom without being responsible for every outcome in your child's life. Learn to recognize the difference between godly responsibility and trying to control what only God can control. 2. Prayer accomplishes what worry never can. Instead of replaying worst-case scenarios and carrying constant fear, you can bring your concerns about your children directly to God. Prayer gives your worries somewhere to go and reminds you that you are not parenting alone. 3. God loves your children even more than you do. This may be one of the most comforting truths a mother can remember. God created your children, knows their future, and is able to care for them in ways you never could. If you've been struggling with mom anxiety, fear about your child's future, worrying about your children, or learning how to trust God with your kids, this episode will encourage you to release what you cannot control and place your children back into the hands of the One who loves them perfectly.
