A collection of stories, beliefs and opinions from all kinds of people, so that we can learn and grow together. Joy Hollingsworth grew up in the Central District and south end of Seattle. She was a basketball phenom in the state of Washington, and went on to play 2 years at USF, followed by 2 years at University of Arizona and then overseas in Greece. I was blessed to have her as a coach in high school, and her positive outlook and accepting nature make Joy a literal joy to be around. After years of devoting herself to coaching and mentoring youth, she and her family started The Hollingsworth Company. Listen as we talk about Joy's incredible life and upbringing, being a black woman in the cannabis industry, and her hopes for our country moving forward.Â
Kevin Padon, a husband, father of 4 grown children, and business owner, brings pizza to the homeless nearly every day and has done so for the last 4 years. In this episode we get a glimpse into Kevin's time with his friends on the streets, and hear firsthand what it means to love our neighbor.
Chief Carmen Best gives us a glimpse inside the Seattle Police Department, and their efforts to foster community trust in a time where fear of police is prevalent.
A little slice of what listening toward love is all about. Introduction song is Wild Child by Enya (one of my favorites)
