Living on The 1 Yard Line

This episode explains the origins of the podcast and further explains the reasoning of the podcast. I explain my existential crisis and journey seeking my purpose.

This was the introductory episode of Living on the 1 Yard Line where I’m discussing the Black male perspective. The circumstances surrounding Black male depression are complex and unique. What we focus on we become. Our community has focused on negative aspects and not growth. The initial title in 2019 was a play on the Notorious Big’s famous line “Money Hoes & Clothes are all a brother knows. The intent was never to offend but to draw attention to issues. I discuss my background, what I hope to accomplish and why I have decided to become a resource. Therefore the title has been changed to “Living on the 1 Yard Line”

This episode I am fulfilling my role as an influencer of thought. The major difference between Michael Jordan a Gen Xer and Lebron James a Millennial, is how they conducted business. Jordan was a killer while James is more collaborative.... oddly enough Kobe is one of the most famous Xennials. Food for thought

In the #metoo era women are demanding respect and reject the “Boys will be boys” bullshit. Come correct, fellas and you can be dating the woman of your dreams.

Originally published in March 2019, I talk about delaying immediate gratification; not settling and going for what you truly want out of life. You can apply this principle to any area of your life, overcoming trauma, career, finance, love or even just becoming a high character person.

5 Moms have played a special part in my life. My mom, grandma, god mom and my kids mothers. This is a special tribute to them. Happy Mother’s Day!!
