Yvette Rock is a visual artist in Detroit who discovered the power of performance art and its ability to challenge the world in which we live. Performance art is unpredictable and complex and gave Yvette a new lens by which to interpret human experience of those who are left out in society. In a similar way, Mark Whitters, professor at Eastern Michigan University, envisions education as performative and cooperative venture among those dedicated to learning. It is performance that drove him to write his recent book on Jesus called Memoirs of How It All Began, and Yvette provided the art for his book. Dan Propson, a professor at Oakland University, also provides commentary.
