The Lakers and Celtics renew their rivalry as the hated green team from Beantown made their way to LA on Sunday Afternoon. And the Lakers found themselves in a game where nothing seemed to go right, not the offense, where they only scored 39 in the second half, the defense, who allowed Payton Prichard to go off for 30 on 10-14 shooting, or the refs, who missed multiple calls in the second and third quarter that caused the Lakers to lose their composure. This all added up to a dismal performance for the Lakers as they lose 111-89. The Lakers get a start to the second part of the season with a matchup against cross-town rival, the LA Clippers. The Lakers offensively came out hot in the first quarter, holding a 41-27 lead. But the Clippers in the second half went on a 17-1 run that put them ahead until a fourth quarter surge brought the Lakeshow in front. And down the stretch, despite the Clippers losing three key players and another bad LeBron James inbound pass, the Lakers did JUST enough to get by the Clippers as a Nic Batum three missed at the buzzer to give the Lakers a 125-122 victory.
