These aren't grifts or delusions — they're genuine neurological events that often leave people calmer, kinder, and less afraid of death.The "tunnel of light" isn't universal — it's cultural. Western NDEs feature tunnels and beings of light, but Buddhist and Hindu experiencers often describe rivers, bridges, or ancestors. This cultural filtering suggests NDEs are brain-based events shaped by personal beliefs — not visits to a one-size-fits-all afterlife waiting room."Clinically dead" doesn't mean the brain has completely shut down. Proponents argue NDEs prove consciousness survives death because brains were "flatlining" — but neuroscientists note that minimal brain activity can still occur undetected, and memories may be reconstructed after the fact as the brain "reboots."Dying might actually be a psychedelic experience. When the brain faces extreme stress, it releases a cocktail of DMT, endorphins, and dopamine while electrical hyperexcitation fires neurons en masse — creating vivid, dreamlike experiences that may explain the transcendent feelings people report.You don't need a near-death experience to live like you've had one. Nick is also a Research Associate of the Royal Ontario Museum and South African Institute of Aquatic Biodiversity. He is a member, and former Co-Chair, of the Freshwater Fishes Species Specialist Subcommittee of COSEWIC. Andrew was a British modern languages student in 1989. He recounts the serendipitous moment when he stumbled upon an advert for a work and holiday trip to the GDR. It was a hard-fought match, and one that many Forest fans (and the Forest manager) felt was overshadowed by the performance of referee Rob Jones - rather than playing against ten men, the Reds were up against 12 of them. The match was lively, but most of the action was in the second half, which started when Rúben Días somehow escaped a second booking for bringing down Igor Jesus. City took full advantage of that reprieve through Tijani Reijnders, before a fine counter-attacking equaliser finished off by Omari Hutchinson. The winning goal came late on, as the officials waved away various episodes of wrestling in the box, one of which prevented Morgan Gibbs-White from blocking Rayan Cherki's effort. Despite the victory, you could see that the visitors had put everything into this one, and several players from both teams fell to the ground at full-time. In this report, Rich and Baz embark on an unexpectedly ranty diatribe against the injustice of it all.
