Bad Catholics with good intentions and better drink recommendations. Check out Quasi Mojo on all music platforms!
Somehow we are on the topic of children. Are we going to raise bad catholics? Are we even going to have children? We sip on some drinks and talk raising families. We start easy and figure out how to cuss around the kids, then we talk about talking sex, and then we wonder if the children even want to be catholic. This one is loaded with reverse shoutouts, insensitive remarks, good stories, and even better insights. Because, hey...drunk words are spiritual truths! Bottoms up!
Your favorite bad catholics are back!! It only took a pandemic and some quarantine to get us to sit down and chat, so listen to us talk a bit about this new normal. What are the alternatives when we're trying to be spiritual? Can we chill with our sacrifices since this quarantine is kicking our butts? Jan got a dog so that's been helpful, but we're still looking to be better. Joe might do a Tagalog devotional next episode to get us back into the swing of things. What do you think? What are your thoughts on vegan lasagna? Anyway, check out Quasi Mojo for all your musical needs and hit up @jo_eremo for all audio needs. Shout out to @konabrewingco @russianriverbrewingofficial and whatever shop Jan got his drink at - thanks for being open during this time.
What does pro-life really mean? When does life really start? Can our legislation reflect the absolute truth? This one was tough. There’s a lot of cussing in this one, deep conversations, and decent argument. Not sure if Joe, Jan, and Rob came out with answers, but they probably came out better Christians. This one is going to stir up a lot of discussion and they boys are happy to chat with you. Please ignore Rob's horrible microphone work, but admire Joe's engineering skills still making us sound sexy af. Stay ‘til the end for a wild surprise from Jan. How important is it to look like you’re praying? We check our practices and the reasons behind them. Is being a “good” catholic just a subtweet to the rest of us? Is there a middle ground between public prayer and private prayer? Rob definitely is enlightened again by the holy ones, Jan and Joe. Ultimately, Rob reminds us that we’re all called to our own type of holiness or whatever.
We got dranks! Jan talks about doing reps for Jesus and Joe is just so full of grace this episode. Rob remains the instigator, but clearly learns a lot about exercise and prayer. What’s your feedback loop for prayer? How do we know if it’s working? Is missing prayer committing a crime? Are you willing to do the time? Who knows? Lots of questions this episode but WAY MORE grace. This one was fun.
What is life like before Catholicism? None of us know. But Izzy does. Jan’s girlfriend did the whole conversion therapy thing and now she’s Catholic. Tune in and hear her story and journey to the one true faith! Was she a holy atheist? Maybe a former Muslim? You’re gonna wanna hear this. A buncha shout outs too. Let us know if you want one.
The boys have upped the game. Lent not only made them better, but the podcast is ON ANOTHER LEVEL. Check the quality of our souls and the audio. Rob talks too much about his potential futures and Joe and Matt are clearly on another level of holiness. All thanks to Lent (and God, of course). We're also in the same room this episode, just in time for the Resurrection Party.
We catch up on their Lenten failures. We explore the non-theological basis for Lenten sacrifice and why it might just be in our minds. Joe can’t say examen and Rob justifies his broken promises. Jan is holy this episode so he definitely makes us look bad, but hopefully he inspires you to be better. Check out Quasi Mojo on all music platforms!
Jan, Rob, and Joe talk about what the season of Lent means, the sacrifices they’re making this year, and reminisce on previous Lenten experiences. Does almsgiving and fasting really work? Does fasting from sin count as sacrifice? They answer all the questions your really want to ask. Also, it’s Jan’s birthday! On Ash Wednesday - that sucks.
