At India Blockchain Week, an NPCI consultant shared that the digital rupee can be restricted for specific purposes, approved merchants, and particular locations. For example, recent transfers of the programmable CBDC for farmers and livestock owners limited purchases to “approved inputs” with geographic tagging enabled. The CBDC is compatible with India's state-run payment system, known as Unified Payment Interface (UPI), enabling users to pay with the digital rupee by scanning existing UPI QR codes. How do you drive freight theft down to nearly zero, and what would your business look like if you could finally stop chameleon carriers, double-brokering, and fraud before it hits your dock? Let's hear it from our returning guest today, Ryan Joyce from GenLogs! Ryan returns to the show to dig into how combining physical asset tracking with strong digital vetting is cutting freight theft for their customers, how chameleon carriers hide behind multiple DOT numbers, why selling motor carrier numbers is fueling fraud, and how GenLogs' new compliance suite is bringing real-time alerts straight into your TMS to flag suspicious carrier behavior before you book the load. We also touch on the national security risks behind unvetted drivers, how ELD manipulation and AI-driven deception make digital vetting harder than ever, and why brokers need to get back to actually talking to carriers to verify legitimacy. This episode breaks it all down in a no-nonsense way, so implement these practical, straightforward steps to reduce fraud, improve compliance, and strengthen your supply chain! Don't miss out on this episode with Danny Ramon of Overhaul to know the real threat to your freight, what's really happening online, and how fast cargo theft is evolving! Danny breaks down how cargo theft has become a full-blown, organized industry, blending cyber attacks and coordinated physical moves that let criminals walk away with entire shipments in minutes, why everyday consumer goods are now prime targets, how social media demand is reshaping black-market trends, and why tech alone won't save you if you don't have the human oversight to back it up! No one's immune, so do simple operational changes, smarter vetting practices, nonstop vigilance carriers, brokers, and shippers need to stay ahead of this increasingly sophisticated threat, and keep supporting the show for more conversations like this! About Danny Ramon Danny Ramon has been working in Supply Chain Security for over 15 years and specializing in Supply Chain Intelligence for the last 13. Danny studies both cargo theft and any factor that can affect the flow of cargo through the supply chain to identify how variables might interfere with the flow of global logistics. In his role as Director of Intelligence and Response at Overhaul, Danny not only presents these findings to the security and logistics teams at the world's largest technology and pharmaceutical companies, but also leads the recovery and investigations team that works closely with law enforcement and private resources across the globe to recover stolen cargo and apprehend the criminals involved. Danny spreads awareness of cargo theft and promotes supply chain visibility as a subject matter expert. He is quoted or published in several leading industry publications, including Transport Topics, Supply Chain Brain, Fleet Owner, FreightWaves, and CCJDigital and he has presented for Inland Marine Underwriters Association (IMUA), the International Supply Chain Protection Organization (ISCPO), the Transportation and Logistics Council (TLC), Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD), Ocean Carrier Equipment Management Association (OCEMA), National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA), and the Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA). Also: He sure seems authentic, doesn't he? He's been described as a DOG. (This is different than a WOLF.) If Kodi Burns likes him, I like him. Golesh was able to keep Durkin, which was very important. The staff is nearly fulled out at this point. Golesh says he wants to build though HS recruiting and supplement with portal. What should we think about that early signing period? Who are the real guys in this class? MBB review — the Arizona loss could be a very good thing. Quick WBB review — they're OK. Shoutouts. What does it take to run a vertically integrated multifamily operation—and do it well? This week, we're joined by Michael Root, Co-Founder and Strategic Leader of Root Property Group, who breaks down the systems, strategies, and lessons behind managing nearly 1,000 doors in Chicago's north side. From understanding why “selling is a decision made before closing” to avoiding the trap of over-improving a property, Michael shares real, practical insights for investors who want to build long-term wealth the right way.Key Takeaways:3:07 – Michael's Core Roles: His three main hats are underwriting deals, asset management (executing strategies), and running the renovation crew.5:44 – Niche Strategy: Focusing on 10-unit, scattered-site buildings in core neighborhoods allows for hyper-accurate local data and pricing.10:26 – Tech for Efficiency: Software like ShowMojo automates scheduling and showings, eliminating phone tag and preventing lead loss.12:41 – Data-Driven Diligence: Use your own portfolio's data to accurately benchmark expenses against the seller's claims before touring the property.15:16 – Avoid Over-Improving: The worst mistake is over-investing in renovations, causing the property value to exceed what the local market can support ("meeting the market").17:02 – Legacy Transition: Buying the existing family business structure secured better lending credit and leverage for future acquisitions.19:55 – When to Sell: Consider selling if you've maximized value, plan no further capital investment, and wouldn't buy the asset back at the current market price.21:47 – Hindsight: Regrets include not networking more when younger and passing up "good deals" out of fear.Michael speaks Corwyn's "real estate dialect," diving deep into the world of multifamily acquisitions and the strategic vision needed to lead a multi-million dollar firm.Connect with Michael:Contact Number: 773 -904-1 383Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/michael-root-6242a6a/Website: https://www.rootrealty.com//Connect with Corwyn:Contact Number: 843-619-3005Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/exitstrategiesradioshow/FB Page: https://www.facebook.com/exitstrategiessc/Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxoSuynJd5c4qQ_eDXLJaZAWebsite: https://www.exitstrategiesradioshow.comLinkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/cmelette/Shoutout to our Sponsor: Mellifund Capital, LLCNeed funding for your next real estate flip or build? Most 20-somethings are still figuring out their first job. Noah Tidwell dropped out of college, bought a moving company, ran it for five years, sold it, and launched a new business helping home service owners automate their operations. All before most people finish grad school. In this episode of Rising Tide Startups, Noah shares how he discovered his real passion wasn't running a moving company but solving the operational headaches that kept him up at night. The inefficiencies, the manual processes, the time sucks that every blue collar business owner deals with but doesn't have time to fix. So he sold his company and built Solo Operator to do exactly that. Now he's helping small home service businesses get their time back by implementing systems, automations, and processes that actually work. Noah talks about the discipline it takes to focus on high leverage activities, why he hires fast and fires fast in the home service space, and his vision for Solo Operator Labs where he takes equity stakes in businesses instead of charging monthly retainers. He also shares lessons from his dad (who was a previous guest on this podcast), why nobody will ever care about your business as much as you do, and his dream of backpacking through Europe once he builds a business that runs without him. Key Takeaways: Focus on signal, not noise. Identify your highest leverage tasks each day and complete them before anything else. Do what you actually love. If you're dreading most of your work, it's time to pivot toward what energizes you, even if it means starting over. Nobody will care as much as you. You can't expect employees to have the same drive as a founder. Accept that and set realistic expectations. Partner for ownership, not just payment. Taking a piece of the business instead of charging fees aligns incentives and opens doors when cash is limited. Small businesses need systems to survive. Whether you want to grow or exit, having documented processes and automation in place isn't optional anymore. Build a business that runs without you. True freedom means being able to step away and know everything still works. Let's see what AI adoption really looks like inside the freight industry in this episode with our returning guest, Dhruv Gupta from Drumkit! Dhruv shares the three types of customers in the AI space, why human oversight still drives decision quality, where the best automation opportunities actually live, and why setting realistic expectations matters. He also digs into rolling out AI without blowing up your workflows, why cultural buy-in matters just as much as the tech itself, product limitations, the future of conversational AI, and how AI will free brokers to focus on relationships and real decision-making. At the end of the day, AI isn't about replacing people; it's about removing the tedious stuff so you can operate faster, smarter, and with a whole lot more clarity. Keep tuning in to hear more! About Dhruv Gupta Dhruv is the CEO of Drumkit, co-founding it in 2022. He has been passionate about logistics for as long as he can remember. After graduating from Harvard with a degree in Computer Science and Government, he founded a Y Combinator backed startup focused on micro-mobility optimization. He then co-founded Megaphone, a non-profit that helped people vote in Milwaukee and Atlanta in the 2020 General Election. He was the first BD hire at Zoba, an early stage startup that optimizes fleet operations. Connect with Dhruv Website: https://www.drumkit.ai/ Email: hi@drumkit.ai
Joyhdae says she's finally ready… and Ryan immediately needs to know: “Ready for what, exactly?”That's how today's episode kicks off — with declarations, confusion, and a little Virgo-level side-eye as the duo digs into dating apps, algorithm training, and why Hinge keeps serving Joyhdae matches that feel like personal attacks. From there, things escalate quickly (as they always do). We go from 2026 relationship goals to a wild DNA-test family feud, the mess unfolding between Tamar, Yandy & Mendeecees, and the ongoing chaos of the Queens of R&B tour. Ray J is doing Ray J things, Netflix is out here buying entire studios, and somehow the U.S. Postal Service ends up in a conspiracy theory we did not see coming. And if you've watched All her Fault…Whew. We get into the twists, the questionable parenting decisions, the very illegal plot developments, and the moment we collectively realized this entire show could've been avoided if one Black mama had been involved. Then of course we have first reactions to the new 50 Cent–produced Sean Combs: The Reckoning documentary — the allegations, the production quality, and the cultural earthquake it's stirring. Then we wrap up with a discussion about an AI-generated Michael Jackson TrapSoul EP that sends us into a conversation about artistry, ethics, legacy, and whether AI is doing too much. Is it innovation? Is it disrespect? Is it both? The Virgo discourse gets deep.Dating chaos. Celebrity mess. True crime twists. If you've ever woken up in the middle of the night and felt like something was standing there watching you, you're not alone. Visit our merch store: https://shop.millennialshow.com Follow the show in your favorite podcast app and leave us a review! This week we're kicking things off with the latest chaos in the news: Costco is suing the Trump administration over tariffs, and why your relatives may be adjusting their spending limits this holiday season. Then we dive into the year-defining weirdness of 2025, starting with the rise of “6-7,” the phrase so big it reached Andrew's young nephews and somehow became Dictionary.com's Word of the Year (wtf). We look at whether millennials ever had any comparable internet-inspired brain rot, then broaden out to the phrases, moments, and cultural oddities that shaped 2025. We're crashing out over all the new slang that we don't understand, but we're "letting them" enjoy this 6-7 trend. Shoutout to the viral moments that made 2025, like cheaters being exposed at a Coldplay concert, America losing TikTok for half a day, and Kendrick Lamar obliterating Drake at the Super Bowl. We also revisit the Epstein Files, our favorite cities that trolled ICE this year, Dick Cheney's non-mourned death, tariffs on literal penguins, and the recent Louvre robbery fiasco. 2025 may have felt like it was 300 years long, but all this and more was jam-packed into just 365 days. Two months ago, a now-fired Sucker Punch developer lost her job due to an ill-timed social media post, and she's been fairly quiet ever since, at least until now. In a new article, artist Drew Harrison talks about what befell her, but -- truth be told -- she seems to have missed the biggest part of her own story: How much she could have (and did) harm the hundreds of other people that worked for years on Ghost of Yotei, only to disrupt the entire marketing roll-out of the game on the precipice of its hyped release. Let's revisit the situation with new context and insights, and see if we can make sense of whether her dismissal was fair, unfair, or perhaps just the product of the environment many industry professionals gleefully cheered on when the shoe was on the other foot. Plus: Death Stranding 2 gets an ESRB rating for a PC release, PlayStation 3 emulation is actively being worked on outside of Sony's walls, Stellar Blade 2 is abandoning PlayStation as its publishing partner, RAM price spikes threaten the future of console pricing, and more. Then: Listener inquiries! Did Sony's recent update to PlayStation Portal ruin the functionality of the PS button? What happened to the so-called "One Sony" initiative? Could an ex-Housemarque developer's new game spark a renewed love for arcade-style romps? What's the latest on the misadventures of an entity called Young Colin?
