What if equity could move as fast as code? Most founders spend thousands on lawyers, cap table management, and outdated infrastructure just to raise money and distribute equity. Joris Delanoue thinks that's ridiculous. As co-founder and CEO of Fairmint, he's building the rails to move private equity onto the blockchain, turning cap tables into smart contracts and making ownership as easy to transfer as sending an email. In this episode of Rising Tide Startups, Joris shares his journey from being a serial entrepreneur in France to a blockchain pioneer in Silicon Valley. After selling multiple companies and experiencing the pain of locked-up investments and cap tables that were impossible to manage, he moved to the US with one goal: to fix capitalism. What started as an idea for a startup exchange using SPVs evolved into Fairmint, a platform that's already moved over $1 billion in equity onto the blockchain. Joris breaks down why blockchain is the superior technology for securities, how Fairmint is deintermediating traditional finance without sacrificing compliance, and why privacy features like zero-knowledge proofs are unlocking trillions of dollars in institutional capital. He also discusses the shift from infrastructure as CapEx to OpEx, and how transfer agents are suddenly the most sought-after role in finance. Additionally, he shares his belief that entrepreneurship changes the world faster than politics ever will. Key Takeaways: Blockchain is a superior infrastructure for equity. Just like cloud computing replaced private servers, blockchain will replace traditional financial rails because it's faster, cheaper, and more efficient. Cap tables should be smart contracts. Moving equity onto the blockchain eliminates intermediaries, reduces costs, and makes ownership programmable and liquid. Compliance is a feature, not a bug. Being an SEC-registered transfer agent means investors don't lose their assets if they lose their private keys. You can always recover securities with proper ID. Infrastructure can become a profit center. With the right tokenomics, what used to be operational expenses can now generate revenue instead of costing money. Equity should be accessible to everyone. Employees, contractors, partners, and community members who contribute value should be able to participate in the financial upside. Entrepreneurship beats politics. As a founder, you can impact billions of people through what you build, the values you embed, and the vision you execute. What's going to separate the winners from everyone else in 2026? Are you focusing on the fundamentals that actually move the needle? In this conversation with our returning guest, Mike Riccio of More Than Miles Consulting, we discuss why success in this market comes down to trust, execution, and relationships, not chasing every shiny opportunity! Mike and I dig into controlling the controllables, dialing in your sales plan, tightening up your messaging, and building a culture that actually performs regardless of tariffs, rates, or the economy. We also cover utilizing technology as a tool, the importance of knowing your cost to serve, so you can stop selling yourself into the ground, why disciplined pricing and clear deadlines for unprofitable accounts are critical for a volatile 2026 cycle, strengthening carrier relationships through consistent communication, honest lane reviews, and building trust so capacity doesn't disappear when the market tightens. At the end of the day, the freight industry rewards smart planning, strong operations, and transparency, and the companies that focus on those fundamentals are the ones who'll win in the long term. Always tune in! About Michael Riccio Mike Riccio is Founder and CEO of More Than Miles Consulting, LLC. Bryan Matthews, Caleb Jones and Jay G. Tate reconvene to discuss the most pressing news, which today centers around the football team's overtime loss at Vanderbilt. Also: Auburn's offense sure was good the other day. Was Hugh Freeze really that big of a drain on the offensive operation? Ashton Daniels put together one of the greatest single games from an Auburn quarterback. It's like magic getting the ball to Auburn's best players, huh? Preston Howard needs to step it up. Xavier Chaplin needs to step it up. What happened to the defense? Did Durkin's head-coach work affect the defense? Does this performance enhance Durkin's candidacy? Who else is seriously in the mix for this job? Men's basketball won two games last week. Isn't it weird how shooting has been a problem for the team right now? Keyshawn Hall is a bad man. Shoutouts. How can we better support the men and women who served—and make sure they're not left behind when they come home? In this episode, we've invited US veterans Luke Flatebo and Cole Rush to have a real, unfiltered conversation about the state of veteran care in America. We talk about the urgent need for stronger mental health support and community awareness, funding gaps in the VA, push for innovative therapies like psychedelics, and how stigma still keeps too many vets from asking for help. We also dig into how veteran skills, especially in logistics and leadership, are often overlooked by civilian employers, and why it's time to pay vets what they're worth. Waxahachie Lodge No. 80 is one of the largest and best-known lodges in North America. Because of their excellent promotion on social media, they have become household names in the world of Odd Fellowship. We talk with their Noble Grand, Alex Freeman, about his journey into Odd Fellowship, how it intersects with his professional life, (spoiler alert: he's a tattoo artist) and what it's like to be in charge of such a large, active, prominent lodge. Brother Alex offers some fantastic advice and insight for others on the journey through Odd Fellowship. The Shoutout is back for this episode and it goes to Iroquois Lodge #74 of Illinois for their revival from near-death. In the Odd Podge, Ainslie reviews the Odd Market, Mike reveals his new jobs in West Virginia and at Sovereign Grand Lodge, Alex follows Ainslie's lead and shares his experiences with the Odd Fest in Waxahachie, and Toby revels in the fruits of his fame as appreciative fans bought him dinner (and dessert) at the NW IOOF Meeting.
We connected with Oklahoma City artist EszJay this week on episode 281 for an awesome conversation! As an artist deeply rooted in Hip-Hop we were excited to hear her perspective as an independent artist in the space. Having moved to Oklahoma from her home state of Illinois she told us about the connections she's been able to garner through different local events like open mics and other live shows. She's also spent most of this year finishing up her first full project, an EP that's set to see light in 2026. EszJay also revealed her plans to do more shows and work on some visuals to help accompany the project which is super exciting. Her messages on persistence and her love for the craft definitely resonated and we hope they can do the same for you. Shoutout to EszJay once again for sharing some of her story!Submit a demo track(s) for release consideration with Proven Knowledge! - https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1l_h_XayHVqWIJHgTYyV5vGgThfRVEiBh8lw9SP8DrQw/viewform?edit_requested=trueConsider becoming a monthly supporter of the show by visiting the link here

In the crucial Part 2 of our conversation with Mike Russell, founder of Hope for Hardship, we move beyond the hardship story and give you the specific legal blueprint for fighting foreclosure. Host Corwyn J. Melette and Mike dissect the entire process, revealing the critical deadlines, the dangers of filing Chapter 13 bankruptcy, and the precise moment you must act to save your home. Stop hiding from your creditors and start learning the law today!Key Takeaways 0:27 The Right to Cure: Mike explains the crucial period (typically 90 days) granted to consumers to "cure the debt" after falling into default before the bank can proceed with formal foreclosure.1:07 The Foreclosure Timeline: Learn the approximate 150-day period from the last payment until the bank is ready to file a Notice of Intent to Foreclose (1:46).2:40 The Court Date Misconception: Mike clarifies the common mistake of confusing the Service Members Act court notice (2:01) with a required court date for non-military homeowners.4:09 The Woodwork Warning: The moment the foreclosure becomes public record, leading to a barrage of calls and solicitations from people seeking to "capitalize on the perceived misfortune of others."5:57 The Chapter 13 Trap: Mike, drawing from his experience, warns against filing Chapter 13 bankruptcy simply to get a temporary stay on an auction (6:35), explaining how this often fails and leaves the consumer with both a bankruptcy and a foreclosure on their record.9:44 A Triumph Story (The Soft Landing): Mike shares a powerful success story of helping a family execute a short sale (11:05), rebuild their credit, and eventually buy the rental property they moved into (11:56).12:25 Struggle is a Chapter: Mike offers his philosophy: "Struggle is just a chapter unless you make it permanent," emphasizing that a crisis is not the end of one's existence.14:39 Direct Contact & Resources: Mike shares his cell phone and website for anyone seeking immediate guidance.Connect with Mike:Contact Number: (508) 728-6465Website: Help4hardship.orgEmail Address: Mike@hope4hardship.orgLinkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mike-russell-3395baa/Connect with Corwyn:Contact Number: 843-619-3005Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/exitstrategiesradioshow/FB Page: https://www.facebook.com/exitstrategiessc/Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxoSuynJd5c4qQ_eDXLJaZAWebsite: https://www.exitstrategiesradioshow.comLinkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/cmelette/Shoutout to our Sponsor: Mellifund Capital, LLCNeed funding for your next real estate flip or build? What does it take to keep a 120-year-old produce distributor thriving in today's fast-paced logistics world? Let's welcome our first guest of the week, Bill Loupée of Ben B. Schwartz and Sons, to talk about how this Detroit-based company has built its reputation by focusing on logistics (not farming) and how that mindset has fueled their success across small retailers, food service companies, and national chains! We dive into why owning their fleet gives them a competitive edge in time-sensitive produce deliveries, how proactive communication turns potential service failures into trust-building moments, and how the company's innovation push, especially around food waste reduction and cold chain traceability, is setting the tone for the future of produce logistics! About Bill Loupée As COO at Ben B. Schwartz, a Detroit-based wholesale distributor of fresh produce serving the Midwest, Bill is responsible for establishing and maintaining grower partnerships, technology initiatives, logistics, and implementing company strategy. Prior to Ben B. Schwartz, Bill spent over a decade in the supply chain field with Coyote Logistics (Chicago) and Sonwil Logistics (Buffalo). Bill holds a master's degree from Michigan State University in Logistics, Materials, and Supply Chain Management, is a licensed US Customs Broker, and is an active member of the International Fresh Produce Association's US policy council.

Travis Justice and Dr. Rob Zatechka are back in the basement; beers cracked, mics hot, and takes even hotter after Nebraska's 28–21 win over UCLA. Travis plants a flag: TJ Lateef is the better fit for Dana Holgerson's offense than Dylan Raiola. Rob parses the nuance: different QBs, different slices of the playbook—but against UCLA, Lateef looked composed and decisive, starting 11-for-11 and finishing 13-of-15 for 205 yards and 3 TDs, plus the legs to punish a defense (31 rushing yards) when the second read wasn't there. Clean sheet, too: no turnovers, minimal penalties, and the offense stayed on schedule. The spotlight swings to Emmett Johnson, who just made himself some money: 28 carries for 129 and 103 receiving—the first Husker RB ever to hit 100/100 in a single game. The NFL loves backs who can block and catch; does Johnson jump now, chase NIL for one more season, or both? The portal/NIL realities get the full Doc Talk treatment, including how backup market value changes overnight and why some players know their next stop before they even hit the portal. Defense? The numbers say “solid,” the eyes say “still leaky.” UCLA went 8-for-14 on third down and hit a couple of chunky scrambles when the contain broke. The pass rush flashed, but Rob wants a few more of those get-off-the-field moments—turn two or three conversions into stops, and the whole night feels different. Beyond football, the guys hit Husker Wrestling—packed house vibes, Mark Manning's machine, and the AJ Ferrari showmanship question (Cal State Bakersfield version, please). Since the Huskers aren't playing next week, make plans for Saturday night! Producer Owen Justice is gigging Saturday at Reverb Lounge, opening for Ben Chapman (buy one, get one tickets—support local music!). Shoutout to Doug at Kros Strain for a clutch case drop—yes, the Cornhusker Crusher (Herbie on the can, the “correct” Herbie) makes an appearance, along with a surprisingly sippable morning “breakfast” lager—Inflatable Snowman with cranberry and cinnamon. The guys also riff on stadium beer lines and why UNL's grab-and-go needs triple the pay stations if you want fans back in seats before the next series. A bye week is up next before Penn State and Iowa, but the pod rolls on. Hit subscribe, drop your takes below, and keep the beer recommendations (and care packages) coming.
