Keisha Lance Bottoms joined Ron for a look back at her mayoral era in Atlanta and to make her sales pitch to skeptical Georgia voters ahead of the gubernatorial election in November.Speaking on the race, a curious endorsement bubbled up, last week, drawing notable scrutiny among many black Georgia voters. Trump got whacked by the Supreme Court Friday, but justices may have actually been trying to bail out his floundering economy. Is the president too narcissistic to take the win? If so, more economic malaise is likely to come.California Governor Gavin Newsom was in Atlanta over the weekend, for a Bottoms' fundraiser and a conversation with Mayor Andre Dickens on his book tour; a "960 SAT score" statement was fodder for criticism by some on the right, but didn't seem to phase those in attendance - or anyone who heard the entire exchange. Georgia Rep. Marvin Lim capped the cast to share his own immigrant voter struggles . He and fellow Democrats are floating legislation to allow Georgia municipalities to embrace sanctuary policies. Lim also spoke on the work he does representing a diverse district, along with penning bipartisan legislation to protect medically challenged utility customers burdened with shutoffs.Tune in to catch the Ron Show weekdays from 4-6pm Eastern time on Georgia NOW! Pastor and Colorado State Rep Scott Bottoms is running for Governor of Colorado, and he's making the case for why Christians can't sit out the political arena anymore. We talk about the pressure on pastors to stay silent, the “Christian nationalism” debate, and why policy is shaping the future of our kids in real time—from grooming and parental rights to trafficking and corruption. Colorado state representative Scott Bottoms joins me to discuss his claims of pedophile rings at the State Capitol.
Send us a message! Really! This week on the Get More Smarter Podcast, a Colorado Republican State Representative who will not be the state's next governor has re-earned his podcast nickname as he proves, once again, that when it comes to the massive amount of lies he will tell IN CHURCH, FROM THE PULPIT, there truly is no Bottoms. Then, the Trump administration is having a really, really bad year, and it's only February; from failing, again, to prosecute their political opponents to losing a major tariff vote on the floor of the House thanks to Colorado's own Bread Sandwich, it's getting harder to believe this group of stupid idiots might be able to steal an election. Then the EPA isn't protecting shit; Pam Bondi has a meltdown and gets absolutely cooked by one of Colorado's best; the State Legislature is losing another Democratic Champion; and a Colorado House Republican finally tells the truth about who's to blame for our massive, continuing state budget cuts. But first, remember how, just a month ago, the United States unilaterally kidnapped the leader of a sovereign nation with neither congressional nor allied authorization? No? Well Dr. Francisco Rodriguez of the University of Denver sure does! Colorado's top expert on Venezuelan history and politics joins us to talk about what's happened since, and what happens next. That's it for this episode! If you loved watching and/or listening to it as much as we loved recording it, you can thank us by subscribing to the pod wherever you listen, following us over on New Old Twitter AKA Bluesky, subscribing to our shiny new channel on YouTube, smashing that subscribe button on our Substack, and sharing this episode with your friends, your enemies, and your 8th favorite Member of Congress from Colorado! THANK YOU so much for listening, and we'll see you next time!

Rep. Scott Bottoms (R-15) stuns onlookers at a GOP event in Colorado Springs, alleging the existence of a child sex trafficking ring at the state capitol. Is there enough evidence to prove this? And setting that aside, Democrats continue to vote against harsher sentences for child sex traffickers in the state. Why?

Matt Faircloth interviews Brian Burke, reflecting on the prolonged multifamily downturn and why 2025 failed to deliver the recovery many investors expected. Brian explains how elevated construction deliveries, negative rent growth, and mispriced cap rates have kept deal fundamentals from penciling, especially for assets acquired with high leverage. The conversation dives deep into the dangers of bridge debt, emphasizing that loan maturity risk, not floating interest rates, is what ultimately puts lenders in control. Brian also shares why he has shifted capital into assisted living, citing demographic tailwinds, improving fundamentals, and a supply-demand imbalance that contrasts sharply with multifamily. What is vetting? If you've been to a spanking party before, you've probably heard this term, and have probably even been vetted: it's the background check done to keep everyone at the party as safe as possible. But it's not just for parties, this is good for one-on-one play as well. How is vetting done? What should you expect? Well, there's many ways to vet someone. But we discuss a few tips that we've used, have seen used, and have been involved with in the past, for both Tops and Bottoms alike. So, if you're interested in attending a spanking event, or even hosting a spanking event, or even want to keep yourself safe in one-on-one play (and who doesn't?), and want to learn more about the vetting process, we hope this episode will give you some good tips to get started.

Heidi Ganahl fills in for Dan and weighs in on the 2026 governor's race, having served as the Republican nominee for the office in 2022. Brita Horn, Colorado GOP chair joins the program with an update on upcoming activities - including the state assembly - after Rep. Scott Bottoms (R-15), a current candidate for governor, called into question the fundraising efforts of the party.Heidi also reveals a fun fact: Punk rocker Debora Iyall, lead singer of 80s new wave band 'Romeo Void,' is her sister-in-law. Ryan finds a couple of memorable songs from the group to play on the show.
REP. SCOTT BOTTOMS JOINS TODAY AT 1 Not only is he running for Governor, he's also been dragged into the fray with Victor Marx. Marx said on Ryan Schuiling's show yesterday (You should listen to that interview here) that Bottoms had not only asked Marx not to run, but had also offered him a position as Lt. Governor if Bottoms was the nominee. Bottoms says this is not at all accurate. Find out more about Rep. Bottoms' campaign here.
When will it feel like winter, Rep. Scott Bottoms on who he hasn't asked to be Lt. Governor, and get ready for power outages in some parts of the state.
POP THE POPCORN, GOP GOVERNORS RACE IS ALREADY HOT and I talked a bit about this yesterday, but this morning my colleague and new KHOW Morning Drive Host Ryan Schuiling did a barnburner of an interview with candidate Victor Marx. Find that here. In it, Marx claimed that Rep. Scott Bottoms, another candidate, had asked him to be Bottoms' Lt Governor. When asked directly about that, Bottoms said succinctly, "is not being honest". I need you Marx supporters to help me understand the kind of support I'm seeing for a person who is a political blank slate. Ryan is joining me at 1:30 to talk about the interview, you really should listen to it.

Guest Carmen Maria Machado is a writer of queer horror, essays, and short stories. She is most well-known for her memoir, In the Dream House, which came out in 2019, and really took the queer lit world by storm. In it, she brings light to a concept often shied away from - domestic violence and abuse within queer relationships. While writing the memoir, Carmen did a lot of research into the history of domestic abuse within the lesbian community - the ways in which it is less visible, and the stories that made it into the archives despite all odds. She speaks candidly (and wittily) about all of this, including her own personal experience, coming out journey, and writing process. -Find more about Carmen and her work on her website -Follow Carmen on Instagram -Subscribe to her Substack, Cup of Stars Thank you for listening to Cruising Podcast! -Reviews help other listeners find Cruising!
