In anticipation for the sequel coming out this month, this week it’s time to tone it down, as I cover A Quiet Place. This movie had me on the edge of my seat, and despite being a very quiet movie with little spoken dialogue; I was fully invested in watching this family try to survive in a world where monsters will attack anything that makes a sound. Valentine’s Day is this week, so what better movie to cover than Valentine? This 2000s Slasher centered on Valentine’s Day follows a group of women who get picked off one by one because they told a man no many years ago. Fragile masculinity at it’s finest. This week I cover another favorite of mine, 2016’s Don’t Breathe. It was a sleeper hit that blew me away like it did with audiences and critics. It’s a simple story about a home invasion told from the perspective of the burglars with a major twist. While flipping many tropes on their head, this movie also does a great building and maintaining suspense. Do I like it more than It Follows? After 2 months, Talk Some Horror is back from the dead with a new logo, new intro, new release day, and a new episode! From now on Corey will be your host with guests here and there. After dealing with a couple set backs because of the flu, I’m back to Talk Some Horror and today, I’m covering It Follows. The movie about an entity that gets passed around like an STD/STI and relentlessly follows its victims until it kills them in horrifying ways.
