You Don't Have to Be Finished to Be Loved — Your Quiet Moment EP291What if the people who love you are not waiting at the finish line? What if they are already sitting at the table, and you just have not noticed? This episode is for the part of you that has been hiding — not from danger, but from being seen while you are still under construction. The part that believes you need to be healed, whole, polished, and complete before you deserve the kind of love that stays. Tonight, we set that belief down. Not because it is wrong, but because it was never true to begin with.Through a story about a creaking floorboard in a grandmother's house, we explore the quiet fear of being seen as unfinished — and why the people worth keeping are the ones who love you not despite the scaffolding, but because of it. You do not have to earn love by being done. You just have to be present.Tonight's affirmations:• I do not have to be finished to be loved.• My incompleteness is not a flaw — it is a doorway.• I am allowed to be seen while I am still becoming.• Love does not wait for perfection. It meets me where I am.• I am loved not for what I will become, but for who I already am.Breathe with me tonight. Let the breath carry what you have been holding. You deserve rest, not rescue.#YourQuietMoment #SelfCompassion #BeingLoved #UnfinishedAndWorthy #Mindfulness #Affirmations #SelfAcceptanceDISCLAIMER
What if healing begins with a single breath? In Episode 4 of Emotions & Healing, Dr. Michelle Greenwell welcomes Kate Montgomery, HHP, ND, and Denise Cambiotti, HCD, CIH BioEW, as they explore the Metal Element through the wisdom of the Five Element Theory, Touch for Health, and the BioEnergetic Wellness Formula. The Lung and Large Intestine meridians teach us the importance of breathing deeply, processing grief, establishing healthy boundaries, and letting go of what no longer supports our wellbeing. When the Metal Element is balanced, we experience clarity, inspiration, and the ability to move forward with greater ease. When it is challenged, we may hold onto sadness, regret, guilt, or find ourselves resisting the changes life is asking us to embrace.Together we explore:
This week, Sarah Hewitson starts our Ruth series with a preach titled "The Illusion of Power", exploring the decisions that Xerxes had to make and the impact of those choices.
In this coaching call snippet from the BRAVE Mastermind, we explore one of the biggest mindset shifts you can make in your marketing, which is to look at proximity-based marketing, and not just visibility-based marketing. If you've been feeling like you're doing all the right things online but still not seeing the results you want, this episode will reframe how you think about growing your business. We also begin with a beautiful guided visualisation to connect with the energy of your business, deepen your intuition, and remind yourself that your business is something you can build a relationship with—not something you have to constantly force or control.Inside this episode we talk about:Why there are a million different paths to success—and how to stop searching for the "right" one.Separating your identity from your business so its wins (or challenges) don't become your self-worth.The difference between visibility and proximity, and why one can create more clients than the other, depending on the stage of biz you're in.Practical ways to build referral relationships with local businesses and practitioners. Why relationship marketing is one of the most underused business strategies. How complimentary sessions can become one of the fastest ways to build trust and momentum. The power of pitching yourself—even before you feel ready. Why your nervous system often wants you to stay "busy" instead of doing the things that actually grow your business.Understanding the difference between expanded fear and contracted fear, and how to know which one you're experiencing. The thing is, people don't always buy because they've seen you the most... they buy because they trust you.And trust is often built through relationships, conversations, referrals and human connection, not just another reel.Sometimes the next level of your business isn't asking for more visibility (even though we LOVE visibility). You just need to get closer to the people you're here to help.MORE

Full show notes: https://bengreenfieldlife.com/nickpodcast In this episode, you'll get a practical, plain-language tour of breathwork with Nick Sweeney, a breathwork coach who rebuilt his body with breath after a college bike accident left him unable to walk. You'll learn his Vortex Breath and the Fibonacci counting behind it, why slow breathing is really cardiovascular training that may predict how long you live, how to pair breath with fascia and mobility work, his routines for better sleep and for combining sauna, breath, and cold safely, where he lands on the cold plunge debate, why the air you breathe matters as much as how you breathe, and his "Billions Will Breathe" mission to get a million (and eventually a billion) people breathing in sync. Nick is the founder of Coherence, a breathwork app that trains your nervous system to improve deep and REM sleep, HRV, and stress resilience. After doctors told him his skiing career was over, he went from unable to walk to competing at U.S. Nationals within a year using breathwork, cold, and nervous system work, and today he leads a global movement to have people breathe together as one. Several popular Christian worship songs propose that believers can breathe in the Spirit of God. A respected Charismatic pastor recently put out a video teaching greater peace can be achieved by inhaling deeply and saying, “I breathe you in Holy Spirit.” Is such an action even possible? Can our lungs contain the presence of God or does He dwell in our hearts? Is there a difference between human breath and the breath of God? Is this concept a mixed bag of biblical, far eastern, and new age beliefs? Breathe, relax, feel, watch, allow. This meditation moves through the five steps in order, from a couple of long breaths to a closing thought of goodwill. When the mind wanders, bring it back. However many times it takes. Nothing here has to be fixed today. The job is watching this breath, and then the one after it. Breathe, relax, feel, watch, allow.

As summer comes to a close, many of us feel pressure to squeeze in one more trip, one more activity, or one more memory. But what if that pressure isn't really about summer at all? In this episode, we explore the mindset of scarcity: the belief that there isn't enough time, opportunity, or life. This scarcity quietly steals our peace and joy. We'll discuss how scarcity fuels stress and comparison, why our nervous system reacts this way, and how faith invites us into a life of abundance, presence, and trust. We'll discuss how fear and scarcity live in the future and how abundance and joy live in the present and with gratitude. I'll give you a 3-step plan out of scarcity: Put your phone down. Breathe. List 3 things you are grateful for. If you've been feeling rushed or like you're falling behind, this episode is an invitation to slow down and discover that today's moments may already be enough.

What if the best part of dancing is not the moves, but the connection? In this episode, I sit down with Spela Sedej, a long-time member of the Herräng community, originally from Slovenia and deeply passionate about swing dancing and the people who make it meaningful. We recorded this conversation during a quiet spring visit to Herräng, while we were both volunteering there for a weekend, far away from the busy festival weeks. The calm atmosphere gave us space to reflect on dancing, community, and what keeps bringing people back year after year. This conversation is really about the human side of social dancing. About connection, trust, encouragement, and the small moments that stay with us long after a song ends.We talk about:Why Spela keeps returning to dancing after all these yearsHow social dancing creates connection between complete strangersWhat Spela has "soft knees" for (a hint: it's eatable) Dancing, hiking, and finding joy in unpredictable momentsA beautiful memory of dancing by moonlight, with candles and the moon reflecting in a lakeCreativity, encouragement, and making space for one another on the dance floorMany dancers know the feeling of wondering whether they are doing enough, taking too much space, or not enough space. This episode is a reminder that dancing does not have to be perfect. Sometimes the most meaningful dances are simply the ones where we feel accepted and encouraged to be ourselves. This episode is for anyone who loves the people behind the dancing. And for anyone who wants to feel a little more at home on the dance floor. This episode has been recorded in May in Herräng, Sweden. Thank you for the space, the music, and the people who make conversations like this possible._______________________________________________Subscribe & review the podcast to help me grow
This episode is for the nurse who is her own harshest critic — replaying the shift on the drive home, fixating on the one thing that went wrong instead of everything that went right. In this episode, we talk about how the precision this job demands (because a small mistake really can mean someone gets hurt) can quietly turn into a critical inner voice that never clocks out. It follows you home. It shows up in how you parent, how you rest, how you talk to yourself about the small human moments — the late clock-in, the snoozed alarm, the donut from the breakroom. We sit with Romans 8:1 and the truth that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus — not "no condemnation if," just no condemnation. And we talk about the order that grace actually works in: we don't clean ourselves up to earn it, we receive it because of who He is — and once we know our worth, we can finally stop condemning ourselves. Then we breathe it in, one truth at a time: Inhale: I'm in Christ Jesus Exhale: There is No condemnation Scripture featured: Romans 8:1 If this episode met you somewhere tender today, share it with a nurse who needs to hear it too. Shalom, shalom.
Hello Beautiful, I'm so grateful you're here with me. Growth often begins with releasing what no longer supports who you're becoming. This gentle guided meditation helps you let go of anxiety, fear, and emotional heaviness while creating space for healing, confidence, and new beginnings. Doug joins the circle from a backyard, phone propped in the grass, raking leaves for an eighty-five-year-old piano teacher who can no longer garden. What follows is a teaching on sorrow — what it's for, how to hold it without gripping — and then a guided practice for letting personal pain become a blessing for others. Drawing on Richard Rohr's The Tears of Things, the Law of One, and the Christian Paschal Mystery, this episode moves from reflection into experience with the Sacrament of Solidarity, a heart-centered practice offered entirely under free will. In this episode The mundane is sacred. Why an ordinary evening of raking leaves is exactly the right ground for this teaching. Spiritual melancholia and clinical depression. Doug, a therapist, draws the line carefully: depressive disorders are real and deserve real treatment. Alongside them sits a spiritual sadness that works less like a malfunction and more like a gift. Gratitude for all that was; yes to all that will be. The Hammarskjöld refrain that anchors the evening, prayed over one member of the circle standing between a home she is leaving and a home she is entering. The Paschal Mystery. Loss and renewal. Learning to die well without gripping — or, as M put it more beautifully than any theology that night, learning to keep your hands open. Joy is not happiness. Happiness may be the opposite of sadness; joy is something else — the felt movement of life, available inside heartbreak wherever there is perspective and a sense of meaning. Everything laments. The phrase lacrimae rerum comes from Virgil; the wisdom of Rohr's book comes from the Hebrew prophets, whose arc runs from rage through sorrow into compassion. Lament as an archetype of release rather than revenge or repair. One body, one Earth. Humanity as the feeling, self-aware membrane of the planet — and what happens when the cells refuse to grieve. Ra's "quiet horror." Why a world where the positively oriented outnumber the negative can still feel so negative — and why it's the good ones who carry that particular ache. The Sacrament of Solidarity. The full guided practice, offered step by step. The practice, in brief A free-will meditation moving undirected energy up through the centers and out as directed blessing: Unite your heart with the others — you are not alone. Find the swirling red-orange sphere of sorrow and anger below the navel. Surrender the need to control the outcome; let it rise to the membrane below the heart. Watch it turn emerald green as it enters the heart, the seat of universal love. Ask, freely: Do you wish to use your pain to bless others? Let it settle behind the throat as a message of love, ready to be delivered. Open the indigo inner eye to those carrying heartache across the world. Release a violet ray from the crown, directed with will and faith: You are not alone. I am here with you. Your pain is understood. I will help you carry this. Breathe. Out: I wish you well-being and peace. In: I wish for myself well-being and peace. Return to the body with gratitude, and with the sense of having transmuted pain into blessing. Sources & references Richard Rohr, The Tears of Things: Prophetic Wisdom for an Age of Outrage (Convergent, 2025). Rohr's most personal book, which he has described as a summation of his teaching. See also his conversation with Oprah, and his Greenbelt Festival interview on how the title came about. On the title and its sources. The phrase lacrimae rerum — "the tears of things" — is Virgil's, from Aeneid I.462, where Aeneas weeps before a mural of the war dead. Rohr has said the phrase stayed with him from his Latin studies. The book's substance, though, comes from the Hebrew prophets — Amos, Hosea, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Jonah — whose writings move from rage and accusation into lamentation and, finally, compassion. Rohr calls this pattern "sacred criticism": confronting evil and injustice while holding the wholeness of history and the interconnectedness of every living being. Dag Hammarskjöld — "For all that has been, thanks; to all that shall be, yes." The Law of One (Ra Material): Session 17.23 — the Earth only seems negatively oriented; the appearance comes from "the quiet, shall we say, horror which is the common distortion which those good, or positively oriented, entities have towards the occurrences" of the present. Session 46.9 — anger as "the undirected, or random, energy." Ra teaches acceptance as the key to the positive use of catalyst, and control as the key to the negative — the same turn the practice asks for below the heart. The Paschal Mystery — the Christian pattern of death, letting go, and renewal. The Bodhisattva tradition — those who return to help humanity with its suffering by teaching us to lament well. Brené Brown — on "foreboding joy," the reflex to brace for catastrophe in our happiest moments. For reflection this week Hold one another in your hearts. If sadness or disappointment surfaces, don't fret it — it's an opening to transmute into shared blessing. That's the gateway back to joy. This episode touches on grief, despair, and suicidal pain. If you're carrying that kind of weight, please don't carry it alone — reach out to someone you trust or to a professional. The whole point of a sacrament of solidarity is that no one is meant to lament by themselves.
How often do you find yourself rushing… even when nothing is actually wrong? You're hurrying your kids to get in the car. Speed-walking through the grocery store. Eating lunch while answering emails. Counting down to Friday. Thinking, "I just need to get through today." Somewhere along the way, I think we've started treating ordinary life like it's an emergency. I started saying these 5 words to myself... "This is not an emergency." Today we're going to talk about how to stop living like every single thing is on fire... ...because it isn't. And when you start reminding yourself that this isn't an emergency... you don't just become calmer… you become happier overall. We Have Accidentally Turned Everyday Life Into An Emergency Think about how many times today you probably said... "Hurry." "We're late." "Come on." "We don't have time." "Let's go." Most of us are moving at emergency speed... ...without an emergency. Ask yourself... If someone watched security camera footage of my life... would they think I was constantly responding to disasters? Or just making breakfast? Because sometimes they look exactly the same. Examples We Rush Through Every Day Getting kids ready for school Instead of... "Hurry! Hurry! Hurry!" Imagine saying internally... "This isn't an emergency." Will they still get dressed? Yes. Will yelling make it faster? Usually not. But it definitely changes everyone's morning. Waiting in line We immediately grab our phones. Complain. Get frustrated. Instead... "This isn't an emergency." Maybe it's two extra minutes. Maybe this becomes your breathing break. Traffic Somebody cuts you off. You're late. Heart rate skyrockets. Except... You arriving thirty seconds sooner changes almost nothing. Grocery shopping People rush aisle to aisle. Barely noticing anyone. Never smiling. Never enjoying choosing food they'll feed their family. Life becomes one giant checklist. Cleaning your house Instead of... "I have to get this done." Try... "I GET to create a home my family enjoys." Same task. Different experience. Folding laundry Jay Shetty often talks about mindfulness inside ordinary moments. Laundry isn't stealing your life. Laundry IS your life. These ordinary moments ARE your life. The "Can't Wait Until..." Trap This one is huge. People spend decades saying... "I can't wait until..." The baby sleeps through the night. They're potty trained. They're in kindergarten. Middle school. High school. College. Retirement. Vacation. Friday. Summer. The remodel is finished. When we finally move. When the house is clean. When I lose twenty pounds. Jay Shetty talks often about how our minds live in the future... and miss the only place life actually exists. Today. What If This Was The Good Part? This might be the chapter you'll miss someday. The noisy dinner table. Little baseball cleats by the door. Teenagers asking for rides. Kids needing hugs. Messy kitchens. Dog hair everywhere. The chaos... might actually be the dream. Looking For What's Wrong One thing I've noticed... When we're rushing... our brain becomes a problem detector. Traffic. Mess. Noise. Delays. People moving too slowly. Bad service. Rain. We're constantly scanning for irritation. Instead... What if we asked... What's beautiful about this moment? What would I miss if this disappeared tomorrow? The Brain Finds What It Looks For If you're looking for inconvenience... you'll always find it. If you're looking for joy... you'll find that too. This is something both Mel Robbins and Jay Shetty return to in different ways: attention shapes experience. You don't control every circumstance, but you do have influence over where your mind rests. Different Phases Of Life Young parents Instead of... "I just need bedtime." Think... "This little voice asking for one more story won't last forever." Parents of teenagers Instead of... "I can't wait until they're independent." Think... "One day they'll stop needing me this much." Working professionals Instead of rushing meeting to meeting... Take thirty seconds. Breathe. Drink your coffee while it's hot. Look out the window. Nothing explodes. Entrepreneurs Everything feels urgent. Every email. Every customer. Every notification. Every opportunity. But if we're honest... very few business decisions require panic. Good businesses are built through consistent decisions... not frantic ones. Questions To Ask Yourself Whenever you feel yourself speeding up... Ask: Is someone in danger? Is this actually urgent? Will this matter next week? Can I slow my breathing? Can I speak softer? Can I smile? Can I enjoy this? Can I choose peace instead? My Favorite Reset Whenever I notice myself getting worked up... I literally say... "This is not an emergency." Sometimes out loud. Immediately... My shoulders drop. My breathing slows. My voice softens. I become a better mom. A better wife. A better friend. A better business owner. Not because my circumstances changed... but because my nervous system changed. Tiny Moments That Become Better Waiting for your coffee. Watching your child tie their shoes. Cooking dinner. Folding towels. Driving to volleyball practice. Standing in line at Disneyland. Watching Little League warmups. Listening to your teenager tell a story that takes forever. Walking your dog. Sunsets. Rainstorms. Family dinners. These moments don't need to be escaped. They're the moments we're going to remember. CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK This week... Every single time you notice yourself rushing... Pause. Take one deep breath. And simply say... "This isn't an emergency." Then intentionally slow down by just 10%. Walk slower. Talk slower. Eat slower. Drive calmer. Listen longer. Smile more. You might be surprised how much life you discover in those extra few seconds. Life isn't usually asking us to move faster. It's asking us to be more present. The irony is that we spend so much of life racing toward the future... that we barely experience the life we're actually living. So this week... Give yourself one simple reminder. "This is not an emergency." Because most of the time... it isn't. And when you stop treating ordinary moments like crises... those ordinary moments become extraordinary. I hope this episode helps you slow down & enjoy the beautiful life you're already living.

You Can Hold Yourself with KindnessThis episode is a gentle invitation to practice something most of us were never taught: being kind to yourself. We spend so much energy noticing what is wrong, what we should be doing differently, what we haven't done yet. We criticize ourselves faster than we would ever criticize someone we love. Today, we flip that. We learn to place a hand on our own heart and offer ourselves the same tenderness we would give to someone who was hurting. You don't need to earn this kindness. You don't need to be perfect. You just need to be willing to try.In this episode, you will:- Be guided through a soft settling-in practice- Explore how your nervous system responds to self-kindness- Receive gentle prompts to speak to yourself the way a loving person would speak to you- Breathe with intention, using the exhale as a way to release self-criticism- Absorb affirmations designed to plant seeds of self-compassionAFFIRMATIONS FROM THIS EPISODE:- I can be kind to myself even when I make mistakes.- My sensitivity is not a weakness. LeBron James didn't just become the most famous athlete on Earth — he became one of its most careful, and occasionally most explosive, political voices. In the most contentious episode of our LeBron series, Dan, Amin and Izzy trace the moments that turned a basketball player into a lightning rod: The Trayvon Martin hoodie photo — and Dan's own take on it at the time, warts and all. The killing of Tamir Rice, and the "I Can't Breathe" shirt that, in the moment, didn't include his name. The ESPYs speech. The White House years, plural. The Bubble. And the legacy that's still being argued over, for better or worse. With firsthand memories from Jemele Hill and Cari Champion, plus a LeBron teammate history conveniently forgot.
