We had a few visitors come to Magnolia to visit us and tour our facilities. One of which was Brett Miller who is the Vice President of Education & Certification at the National Wood Flooring Association. It was inspiring to hear his perspective on the state of the market as well as what their organization is doing to educate and innovate across the industry.

From salvagers to manufacturers, start-ups in the reclaimed wood industry have a common theme. Many start by dismantling a barn and trying to sell the wood and the contents at a premium price. Since our industry is largely unregulated by a central governing body, standards are set at the discretion of company owners. John Medlinger of Superior Hardwoods and Tommy Sancic of Olde Wood Limited discuss what they've learned from their respective humble beginnings and what they would tell the next generation to do differently. The big takeaway from this episode is, set a higher standard and operate with integrity and you'll win.

The grand opening of The Design Centre at Olde Wood was this past weekend. Some of the area's foremost business leaders were here to tour the facilities and offer congratulations for our recent company milestone. Two companies that were represented here were Enviroscapes and Eslich Wrecking. Listen as the owners of each respective company weigh in on the Design Centre.
