Things get heated this week as Mike and Al discuss free trade... or fair trade? In wake of the announcement the UK is free to sign its own trade deal, Al and Mike debate the best way to for the country to proceeds. Mike argues that a small does of Trump style protectionism would be just the ticket the UK needs to diversify its economy and create wealth. Al is having none of it, staunchly defending free trade. The show ends with some thoughts on the common fisheries policy.

Mike and Al are back after the hiatus. This week we are discussing the beast from the east... no not the minor cold front but the major super power: Russia! In wake of the Salisbury spy poisoning, Al and Mike summarise what we know so far and consider the UK Government response. Mike find himself defending Jeremy Corbyn and Russian diplomats, while Al is more in line with the Teresa May... for once! We also discuss the Russian question more generally and the recent Brexit transition deal announcement.

This week Al launches into his critique of the Conservative party and Mike struggles to play defence. Al is convinced the youth vote at the last election foreshadows a changing of the guard in British politics, meaning the Tories have to change. Mike is less convinced and considers the European perspective and the fact no one in British politics really wants to PM right now. Al and Mike consider the Autumn Budget. Working with the new format, Mike and AL put their case for the budget forward in contrasting ways.
