Industrial designers Simon Christopher and Celina Clarke met at RMIT in the mid-1980s. Both were studying Industrial Design and found each other to be like-minded. While most of their fellow students dreamed of designing cars, this duo thought of designing furniture and lighting. They established ISM in the early 90s, now employing 10 people. They produce their own furniture and lights, as well as collaborating with a number of other designers such as Keith Melbourne (who also appears on Talking Design).
