Zack Whaley, known by many as the owner of Zack’s Family Restaurant, was named Tuesday as the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce’s small business person of the year in 2019. Zack’s is well known for its southern home cooking. Whaley has been in the restaurant business for more than 20 years, opening his first restaurant at what he referred to as the old icehouse in Cottonwood. Harry Hall has been instrumental in growing Mardi Gras to the size it has become today in the Dothan area. What began as a rag tag parade of only a few floats has become one of the funnest days of the year for our area. The Krewe of Kolosse is gearing up for their largest parade to date, and Harry has come by the studio to discuss what it takes to put on this incredible event every year.

O.W. Rudd began with a small furniture store on the square in Ozark, Al. Later his son, James O. Rudd moved to a larger location in Dothan on West Main Street, where it still resides today. His son, Jason later joined the family business. Today, the Dothan Showroom serves families throughout Alabama, Georgia , and Florida.
