This peer review explains the modifications used in a special education classroom to assist students with the work they are required to learn in their general education classrooms. This review focuses on four main areas: reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar and spelling. The strategies in this unit of study can also be useful in the general education classroom to support struggling learners, ELLS, and students with disabilities when a special education teacher is not present.
