Trusting God is authenticated in daily demonstration as we walk with him. But, even more important is ultimate the solution to our failures of trust. We can relate to the Israelite's struggle to trust God through their wilderness.

The theme is very similar to last week's but more heavy on the consequences for Israel's rebellious fear [judgment] and the faith of Caleb, Joshua, and Moses [mercy].

The theme of this message is choosing faith over fear when faced with frightening or overwhelming circumstances that threaten God's promises. The historical context is the Israelites on the threshold of the Promised Land. They send out spies to explore the land. The land is just as God has promised but inhabitants and fortified cities are imposing. Most respond with fear but few respond in faith. Those different choices make all the difference in receiving God's promises not matter what we face.
