In this session, participants will review research that supports a 90 minute reading block, components of the reading block and best practices for organizing the reading block. Facilitators will discuss the importance of systematic explicit instruction and explain how to differentiate instruction with flexible groups. An example literacy block frame and implementation checklist will be provided during this session.
In this session, participants will review the multi-level prevention system of the Response to Intervention Process. Facilitators will also review how to access and effectively use STAR Instructional Reports to integrate the Five Reading Components + Writing, Common Core State Standards, and Florida Center for Reading Research Center Activities to Address Tier II and Tier III Interventions.
