In short these sayings tell us that we must fix our own issues before we begin the pursuit of fixing the issues of others. The cancel culture is a social media phenomenon that can take a single mistake and turn it into a life altering event. The expectation of perfection and to never fail is a difficult standard to live up to. Although the cancel culture is usually associated with celebrities, the cancel culture is impacting our children in detrimental ways.
A false ideology that celebrities are perfect and infallible has propelled the cancel culture. One wrong quote, video or Tweet can ruin a career.
