Morley Kert and Eden Schwartz build their tiny home on wheels and embark on Van Life with their dog, cat and 3D printer! They're documenting the ENTIRE process - from learning how to convert a DIY camper van (as a couple) to setting out on a grand adventure.
JBV creative brings together art and engineering through his mesmerizing kinetic sculptures. His videos capture the fascinating and intense process of bringing these ideas to life in a way that's captivating to millions of viewers. When we met a few months ago, we immediately hit it off, and I thought he would be the perfect inaugural guest on this podcast. As part of Morley and Eden's Grand Adventure, I want to interview creatives across North America in person, in the van, but for this episode, JBV's whimsical Toronto studio felt like a much more interesting set than the unfinished van. We talk about how he pivoted from working at a toy company to creating his own inventions, the tensions between art, engineering and content creation, the creative process, finding fulfillment, plans for the future, and so much more. Morley and Eden talk about building a pull-out deck for the van, how it felt to take a week off of building while in the midst of a time crunch, designing our water system, Morley's love of woodworking, the coming cold weather, preparing for our wedding in 2 weeks, and what it will be like to live in the van with 2 pets and no washing machine.
