Legend says that Cicero faced his death heroically, extending his neck to the soldiers sent to kill him. This account was likely perpetuated by his loyal secretary, Tiro, who published Cicero's works after his death. Two thousand years later, Cicero's writings remain a staple for students of Latin and rhetoric. His speeches are still valued for their entertainment value and their insightful political put-downs. Barry Morphew faces first-degree murder charges in Suzanne Morphew's death for the second time — and what he allegedly did between prosecutions is now part of the behavioral record heading into an October trial.After the first case collapsed and the original prosecutor was disbarred, Barry relocated to Arizona under multiple aliases. He lived in a trailer park, went by different names depending on who he was talking to, and denied his own identity when a woman at a bar recognized him. All of this happened while investigators were finding Suzanne's body in a shallow grave and pulling a wildlife tranquilizer from her bones that prosecutors say only Barry had a prescription for.Then came the paperwork. After posting $3 million bond on the new charges, Barry allegedly signed forms authorizing the cremation of Suzanne's remains — remains that contain the prosecution's most critical forensic evidence. An undersheriff collecting the body from the funeral home learned it was set to be cremated the following day. Prosecutors say Barry signed the authorization and paid for it.His lawyers say he takes no position. Elizabeth Warren is at it again. The Massachusetts senator is pushing legislation that should alarm anyone who believes in free markets, private investment, and access to healthcare. Most importantly, it should concern patients. Warren's so-called "Stop Corporate Crimes Against Healthcare Act" is being marketed as a way to protect Americans from corporate abuse. In reality, it threatens private investment and could accelerate hospital closures, particularly in rural communities. The most troubling part of the bill is simple: prison. Warren wants new criminal penalties for healthcare executives and investors based on government determinations about business decisions. The legislation would also allow officials to claw back compensation years after the fact. Think about that. Invest in healthcare and you could become the next political target. That's not accountability. That's intimidation. What's especially troubling is that Warren repeatedly conflates private equity firms with Real Estate Investment Trusts, known as REITs. The two are not the same. Private equity firms buy and manage companies. REITs own real estate. In healthcare, REITs often purchase hospital properties and lease them back to operators. This allows hospitals to unlock capital tied up in real estate and reinvest it into patient care, equipment, technology, and expansion. REITs don't run hospitals. They don't hire doctors. They don't fire nurses. They don't make patient care decisions. They own buildings and provide capital. For decades, this financing model has helped hospitals remain open and expand services. It is widely used throughout the American economy. Yet Warren wants Americans to believe these property owners are responsible for healthcare's problems. The reality is that many hospitals depend on outside investment to survive. If investors believe they could face prison, asset seizures, or political persecution, they will stop investing. Capital dries up. Projects stop. Services disappear. Hospitals close. The communities hit hardest will be rural America. Patients will travel farther for care. Emergency services become less accessible. Healthcare deserts expand. Ironically, the very people Warren claims to be helping could become the biggest victims of her legislation. What Warren ignores is the real crisis facing healthcare. The system is drowning in waste, fraud, abuse, and unsustainable government spending. Billions of taxpayer dollars disappear into bloated bureaucracies every year while politicians promise more benefits and more programs without meaningful reform. Instead of fixing the problems government helped create, Warren is searching for a scapegoat. That scapegoat is private investment. And that should concern every American. Because when politicians start threatening prison for legal business activity, investors leave. When investors leave, hospitals lose access to capital. When capital disappears, services disappear. And when services disappear, patients pay the price. This bill isn't really about protecting patients. It's about expanding government power. Like so many progressive proposals before it, the goal is more regulation, more bureaucracy, and more control concentrated in Washington. The result won't be better healthcare. It will be fewer hospitals, fewer choices, and fewer options for the communities that need healthcare the most. The defense asked the trial judge to separate the charges. The judge said no. Five New Hampshire Supreme Court justices — unanimously — said that decision denied Adam Montgomery a fair trial and reversed the second-degree murder conviction in the killing of his five-year-old daughter Harmony.The problem was the evidence gap between the two charges. The July 2019 assault had multiple witnesses, documented injuries, and no dispute. The December 2019 murder rested on Kayla Montgomery — Adam's estranged wife, who went to prison for lying to investigators before agreeing to testify for the prosecution. The court found the rock-solid assault evidence bled into the weaker murder case and gave the jury a bridge it should never have had. The defense theory — that Kayla killed Harmony and Adam only covered it up — was drowned out by proof of a separate violent act the jury was never supposed to weigh against the murder charge.Criminal defense attorney Bob Motta walks through the ruling with the precision of someone who has tried these cases. He explains what “prejudicial joinder” means when it's not a legal abstraction but a real courtroom dynamic that tips a verdict. He addresses whether the trial judge should have recognized the risk, why the defense ended up arguing both sides of the severance issue, and what the public gets wrong when they hear “conviction overturned.” Adam Montgomery is not getting out — he still faces decades on surviving convictions plus a thirty-two-and-a-half-year firearms sentence. Prosecutors plan to retry the murder charge. We open with a major Supreme Court immigration case heading into the next term — the question of whether non-citizens with serious criminal convictions can be held in detention during deportation proceedings without bond hearings. We explain why this isn't a simple bumper sticker case, why the flight risk argument for criminal aliens is fundamentally different from that of U.S. citizens with community roots, and why the ruling could become one of the most consequential immigration decisions of the new term — directly testing how much process is due before temporary custody starts looking like indefinite imprisonment. We also get into President Trump's peace deal with Iran, and why Barack Obama's claim that this is essentially the same deal he negotiated is not just wrong but precisely backwards. Obama's deal had a time limit on nuclear development — legally allowing Iran to have a bomb by 2030. Trump's deal requires Iran to destroy its highly enriched uranium, pledge never to obtain nuclear weapons, stop funding Hezbollah and Hamas, and open the Strait of Hormuz immediately upon signing — with economic relief only after the first two conditions are fully met. No cash on the runway. No expiration date. Not the same deal. Then a B-52 Stratofortress crashed in Southern California after taking off from Edwards Air Force Base, with military officials saying the crash was unsurvivable — we offer our prayers and gratitude to the crew. And President Trump endorsed Congressman Mike Collins in the Georgia Senate Republican runoff against Derek Dooley, a former football coach who admits he didn't vote in either 2016 or 2020. We walk through the five pillars of the Iran deal in detail — destruction of highly enriched uranium, a permanent pledge never to obtain nuclear weapons, ending the naval blockade only after the first two steps are complete, immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz upon signing, and a requirement that Iran stop funding all terrorist proxies including Hezbollah and Hamas. We note what makes this deal structurally different from every previous Iran negotiation — enforcement is built into the sequencing, not assumed as an afterthought. Our American Mamas Teri Netterville and Kimberly Burleson discuss whether women should still take their husband's last name when they marry — prompted by viral videos of couples doing rock-paper-scissors and tug-of-war at their own weddings to decide whose name to use. In our Digging Deep segment, we take on the left's use of adjectives to alter meaning and control thought — starting with the phrase progressive Christianity versus Christian right. We work through why these two constructions mean completely different things, why the need for the adjective tells you the noun isn't what's being advertised, and how a pastor writing in Salon Magazine misquotes Jesus — changing blessed are the poor in spirit to blessed are the poor — to make Christ's words align with progressive ideology. We connect it to George Orwell's observation that whoever controls the language controls the masses, and explain why this linguistic sleight of hand is one of the left's most effective political tools. We also note that Bill Maher is endorsing Graham Plattner — the Maine Democratic Senate candidate with the SS tattoo and the predator website — and explain that this isn't about principle. It's about keeping Susan Collins out of the Senate. Power, not values. We also push back on Robert De Niro's claim that loving America today is like an abused spouse loving an abuser — and point out that conservatives who disagreed with everything Obama and Biden did never stopped saying they loved their country. Disagreeing with your leaders and loving your country are not the same thing. They never have been. For our Bright Spot, the U.S. Men's National Team beat Paraguay 4-1 in the World Cup — the most goals the U.S. has ever scored in a World Cup match, with Florian Balogun scoring two in the first half. But the moment that mattered most came after the final whistle, when the entire team circled up in the middle of the field and prayed. Defender Mark McKenzie, whom teammates call pastor, led the prayer. On the biggest stage in the world, the U.S. team's first instinct was gratitude. We contrast that with Diego Maradona, who scored a goal with his hand and called himself a god. We'll take our team. And we close with Emily Matijovic, a 16-year-old from Michigan who passed away in December and whose family chose to donate her organs. This spring — the spring she was supposed to graduate — her family threw her a graduation party. Four-year-old Ripley Farrell came from West Virginia. She received one of Emily's kidneys. On Wednesday's Mark Levin Show, there are ongoing attacks on Iran in response to the downed U.S. helicopter and Iran's delay in a deal but why was their criticism for Israel's strikes on Iran 48 hours ago, in response to 11 ballistic missiles fired at its country. Both Israel and the U.S. have every right to respond to a regime that refuses to stop their attacks. There are no moderate factions in Iran—all are radicals who won't change after 47 years—and it's time to decisively finish them off, including by arming opposition elements, to secure midterm wins and sustain the economy. Also, Iran is desperate to include Lebanon in any deal it makes with us because to do so would effectively nullify that agreement and make it impossible for Israel to take action against Hezbollah in Lebanon. This is precisely why both the Lebanese government and the Israeli government have publicly stated they do not want Iran to succeed in including Lebanon in any deal with our country. To include Lebanon in a deal with Iran would be an absolute disaster. Here are two questions no reporter has yet asked: are the policies of the brutal dictators running Turkey, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia aligned with our interests? If not, why are they never publicly questioned let alone criticized? Later, Hamas has established makeshift torture chambers inside Gaza hospitals and schools to interrogate and abuse Palestinians suspected of disloyalty as it reestablishes a strict police state. When is phase two taking place in the peace deal? Afterward, Karmelo Anthony was found guilty of murdering Austin Metcalf in cold blood and sentenced to 35 years, with at least half to be served. He entered the other team's tent, ignored repeated polite requests to leave, became rambunctious and angry, then stabbed the victim so severely that the knife wound was about two inches wide. Despite the open-and-shut case with all witnesses, including defense ones, confirming Anthony as the aggressor, certain individuals, particularly Rep Jasmine Crockett are attempting to portray it as a racial issue and claim he was railroaded. On Tuesday's Mark Levin Show, Sen Lindsey Graham calls in and gives us an update on his South Carolina primary election today. Graham is a reliable President Trump ally, who will advance the agenda, including properly concluding the Iran conflict, protecting Israel, and pursuing broader Middle East peace. Graham's opponent is heavily funded and endorsed by Marjorie Taylor Greene and Rep Thomas Massie, who lack any MAGA credentials; they are more aligned with the hard left. One detective. Eleven documented policy violations. A dashcam SD card that could have recorded everything — gone. And a judge who said the only appropriate response was to throw out the entire case.That's the core of Judge Ralph Wilson's 19-page order dismissing the second-degree murder charge against Aaron Spencer. Spencer — an Arkansas father and Army veteran — shot and killed Michael Fosler after finding the sixty-seven-year-old with his thirteen-year-old daughter. Fosler had been charged with 43 felonies involving Spencer's child and was free on a fifty-thousand-dollar bond with a no-contact order.The case turned on a dashcam from Fosler's truck. It was dual-facing — covering the front, the cab, and potentially the rear. Detective Robbie McCain removed it from the truck without photographing its position. He pulled the SD card and viewed it on his personal laptop. He stored the camera in an office envelope, not the evidence room, for over a year. When the AG's forensics unit finally received the camera, the card was missing. Wilson rejected the state's negligence defense and found bad faith.The ruling noted that the footage was the only potential neutral evidence of what happened that night. Spencer has a constitutional right not to testify. His daughter's testimony could be affected by trauma. Without the dashcam, there was no objective record. Wilson called his own remedy “extraordinary and extreme” — and used it anyway.
