Resources. Truth. Conversation. For parents (or anyone) looking for peace in the midst of chaos.
My former roommate and close friend/sister Stella sit down to chat. We talk about what it was like for her living with my family for almost 2 years. We also talk about race, and our experiences with navigating friendships with people who look different than you (cause she's a beautiful brown woman). Did we say everything right in this conversation? NO. But, that's the reality of how these conversations go. The important thing is to have them. I hope this episode encourages you to PLEASE have these conversations with your loved ones, and especially your children. Most of all I hope it encourages you to make a friend or deepen a relationship with someone who looks different than you.
Jen Seurkamp is my guest for Episode 10, and I could not be more excited! Jen is a wife & mother of 6, and personal trainer/holistic coach. She is a warrior for freedom. Freedom for herself, and the lives of those around her. If you know her, you know this is true. She has greatly impacted my life, and I hope she positively impacts yours as you listen to this episode. ENJOY! As always, feel free to email me questions or topics you'd like to hear more about at: peaceinchaospodcat@gmail.com
So excited to introduce my listeners to my friend Kim Botto (if you don't already know her). Kim is a mother & grandmother to many, and the director of Kids Club and Student Ministries at the church we attend. Kim is passionate about advocating for vulnerable children and inclusion. She talks about what is most important to focus on as a parent, and lots more. Click on the link below to view a life changing talk to she gave this past year: https://youtu.be/GE_3IJt59yQ Another talk Kim gave explains the tree analogy we talk about (go 35min into the video): https://youtu.be/Lo3epmMgWp0 Originally heard from a talk Beth Guckenburger gives that you can listen to here: https://vimeo.com/174601160
1st podcast interview EVER, and 1st in this series "What I Wish I Would Have Known" with my friend Michelle Smith. Michelle is a mother of 3 adult children and has 1 grandchild. I first heard Michelle speak at our church, and was an instant fan. She is a gifted speaker, but also full of truth & grace. I since have had the joy of being in a workout group with her called "Trinity". Every time I'm around her I learn something and feel encouraged. I hope you gain as much from this interview as I did!
