This episode is a reading of a tarot spread that was inspired by the hand positions I was taught to follow for hands on Reiki treatments. In my lineage, Reiki treatments begin by placing hands on the head, and then moving the hands down the center of the body and placing or hovering them over the areas of the heart, the solar plexus, the navel, and the sacrum. As with all Reiki offerings, no one knows how Reiki sent by tarot card reading works except that it intuitively goes exactly where it is needed and always serves the highest good.In this sending spread, three cards across the top represent the head and are read to bring attention to the recipient’s thinking. A small, two card cross below the head position cards represent the heart and read to bring attention to the recipient’s personal power. Three cards run vertically down the right side of the of the spread represent the solar plexus, navel, and sacrum, and are read to bring the recipient’s attention to conditions of, and ways of showing up in the environment. The cards that appear in each position of this spread are:Head Position: Eight of Wands Reversed, Ten of Swords, Two of Swords Heart Position: Two of Rods Reversed crossed by Queen of Swords Solar Plexus: Paige of CupsNavel: Six of Rods ReversedSacrum: The Emperor

Every action we take to sustain ourselves in the moment has an effect on how the world we live in will look in the future. The energy offered in this episode is aimed to touch into the individual’s deep seat of genius, that it be a known part of the self which makes decisions about today that will train the shape of tomorrow.
Each episode of the second season of Podcast 30 is an offering of Reiki meant to be received through listening.
The Reiki practice can be used to establish an understanding of the differences between personal preference and divine guidance.
The Reiki practice can improve intuition by bringing the practitioner into the present moment.
The schools, stories, and techniques may differ, but the energy passed is always the same Reiki.
Reiki can be offered to beings, occurrences, and ideas that are at a distance from the practitioner.
Different sides of ourselves come forth (and therefore can only receive Reiki) only when we are in community.
The three hand placements on the head, traditionally offered as a treatment for chronic conditions, can be put to use during regularly occurring events.
Practicing what comes naturally can improve performance in more challenging circumstances.
A Reiki practitioner is not defined by the quality of the energy that flows through them.
A devoted Reiki practice can help the practitioner develop the ability to notice the subtle ways the body responds to different stimuli.
The only thing anyone has to share about the Reiki practice is a byproduct of the practice itself.
In the world of duality, a Reiki practice can help reveal the peaceful middle and assist the practitioner in residing there.
When practicing Reiki one can be of service outside of traditional ideas about helping others.
Deep noticing can be one benefit of the Reiki practice.
A Reiki practice can be a place to build trust that essential functions will take place, freeing up one's attention to focus on other work.
Spoiler Alert! This post contains spoilers about the movie Dr. Strange. Every Reiki manual I've ever had has included this quote by Hermann Hesse: “I have been and still am a seeker, but I have ceased to question stars and books; I have begun to listen to the teaching my blood whispers to me.”
There is no right way to offer Reiki, but guidelines can help a practitioner get to the business of practicing.
Reiki does exactly what it is supposed to do, and so does everything else.
Receiving Reiki can be a luxurious treat. It can also lead to a more refined definition of what one truly needs.
While Reiki practitioners cannot use the practice to diagnose or treat problems, they can offer themselves to be used in service of the highest good.
The most important thing a Reiki practitioner can find out about the practice is what will keep them coming back to the practice.
Labeling what one encounters while practicing Reiki as an understanding of Reiki is as natural as it is illogical.
Endlessly abundant, Reiki is the gift that keeps on as long as it is given.
Putting Reiki into words can make the infinitely complex practice approachable. The only way to find the word to describe Reiki is to enter into the practice itself.
Sometimes the hardest part of a Reiki practice is remembering to practice Reiki.
Reiki and meditation are unique practices unto themselves. If you were thinking of getting into Reiki as a substitute for meditation, you are out of luck.
There are many stories about the origin of Reiki. Here is mine.
A Reiki practice can heighten one's awareness of the bodies subtle energies, but this new form of familiarity does not mean a practitioner can use Reiki to achieve a desired effect in the energetic body. As with every structure Reiki works on, it is Reiki that knows if a system is unstable and it is Reiki that will to the work of bringing it into balance.
Anything can be approached as a spiritual practice. Devoting oneself to a specific practice allows a practitioner practices practicing.
Spoiler Alert! This post contains spoilers about the movie Trolls. Reiki isn’t something you put inside, it’s already there. Sometimes you just need someone to help you find it.
Reiki will not be received if it is not accepted. Each time a practitioner offers Reiki they receive it in the process. One place to rest the mind during a Reiki practice can be on the idea of receiving.
Practicing Reiki is an act of faith. A dedicated Reiki practice can increase one's ability to move forward with confidence that they will be provided for.
The experience of Reiki is not the same as Reiki energy itself. The most important thing for a Reiki practitioner to remember is to practice.
When it feels like we are all going to die it might mean it's time to focus on quality, not quantity.
In a world where everything is defined by imperfect vessels, practice resides in carrying what inside you and offering it up without naming anything in the process.
Hi, I'm Bernie McKnight and this is a story about how I became a Reiki master and what makes Reiki my primary practice.
I'm Bernie McKnight. I'm a Reiki Master. This is my podcast where I will share what I have come to know about Reiki, how I see it unfolding in my life, and the phenomenal artifacts that remind me of the practice.
