On Christmas day, 1929 a rural North Carolina tobacco farmer brutally murdered six of his children, his wife and then killed himself. The horrific crime made the front page of the New York Times. It inspired a hit record and would conjure up rumor and speculation for generations to come. Some say Charlie Lawson just snapped while others believe it may have been centered around a troubled heart. But as brutal and bizarre as the murders were, what followed the funeral has become the stuff of legend. The crime scene became a tourist attraction with bloody photographs being sold as souvenirs. Deadly Secrets, The Lawson Family Murder delves deep into the events ─ with recently discovered interviews from people who were there that day ─ in hopes of finding answers to this 90-year-old murder mystery.

In the fourth and final episode of Seduced by Satan, a search warrant details the sheriff’s office investigation into Pazuzu Algarad, including the decision which resulted in authorities failing to discover the bodies of Josh Wetzler and Tommy Dean Welch in the months after their murders. We’re also introduced to the key witness in the case and get an update on what happened to the women involved in the murders.

The name Pazuzu Algarad was being echoed countrywide. Before two men were murdered in his home on the east coast of the United States, Algarad was born on the west coast, under a more ordinary name. In episode three of Seduced by Satan, we introduce you to John Alexander Lawson, while detailing his transition into Algarad, up to the last words he ever communicated to his mother.

In the days and weeks after two men were found buried in the back yard of Pazuzu Algarad's home, the investigation was just beginning. Outside of law enforcement, city and county officials needed to determine if the house was fit for human habitation. In episode two of Seduced by Satan, we have our first look inside the home, through the eyes of a housing inspector. We get a better idea of how Pazuzu lived and what went on inside the home. Meanwhile, his mother Cynthia recounts what it was like to live in that house after witnessing two murders.

Clemmons, NC, is a community so tight-knit that it’s called a village. On October 5, 2014, that village was turned upside-down, by a man with an inverted cross on his front door, and the name Pazuzu Algarad. In the coming days, months and years, details of the gruesome murders of two men – who were then buried in Pazuzu’s yard – began to emerge.
