Are you a dirty player or have you learned the #RulesofEngagement when fighting with your #partner or #spouse? In this episode, we talk about our own experiences and share some practical application tips and mindset changes you should have when engaging in an argument with someone that you love. We also have some clips from a few of our family and friends who have been in marriages from 9 years to 59 years! They graciously gave us a peek into what has worked for them in their relationships and we hope you can use these words of wisdom in your own relationships! We would love to hear what has worked for you in your long term relationships and what you do to de-escalate or diffuse arguments with your loved one. RULES OF ENGAGEMENT: - Keep the argument about the issue, not the person. - Apologize and forgive quickly. - Don't pile on issues. Deal with one issue at a time. - Be conscious of trigger words, stay away from them. - Remember you are on the same team. - Nobody actually WINS a fight in the end. If one of you loses, you both lose. - When a fight is escalating, give it some space and time instead of accelerating the problem into a whole fight. - When bringing up an issue, try the "Love Sandwich". #marriage #interracialmarriage #marriagehelp #marriageadvice #relationshiphelp #relationshipadvice #howtofight
