Stephen Bienko was this week's guest on Success Profiles Radio. He is an entrepreneur, speaker, and former athlete known for his work in sports branding, athlete development, and business ownership. He is the co-founder of 42U, which empowers athletes through Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities. He attended the US Air Force Academy and Villanova where he played Division 1 football and was a track decathlete. We talked about mindset and how super successful people operate differently, creating the identity of a winner, how identity shapes your brand and message, and the difficulty of letting go when your time as an elite athlete is over. In addition, we discussed his work with 42U and how he helps athletes brand themselves, how he helps athletes find NIL opportunities that align with who they are, and preparing athletes for life after sports (especially when the sponsorship money goes away). Finally, we discussed an in-depth case study of how he branded and marketed 2008 Olympic gold medal decathlete Bryan Clay and got him on the cover of Wheaties cereal among other things. You can follow and listen to the show on Apple Podcasts/iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Audible, iHeart Radio and at https://toginet.com/shows/successprofilesradio You can learn more about Stephen's work at https://the42u.com

With 2 Million Independent TN Voters 775k Votes is the Magic Number. Where Do Trump Voters Go Next? Reason Over Extremism. Independence Never Goes Out Of Style. Tennessee looks like a red wall on the map. Look closer. Roughly 48% of eligible voters there are unaffiliated — the highest share in the state (34%-R/18%-D/48%-I) — and only a third of them bothered to show up last midterm. That's not apathy. That's the angry middle waiting for someone worth voting for. Lauren Pinkston, independent candidate for governor, joins Paul to make the case that 2026 is the year Tennessee breaks the one-party stranglehold, and she's got the math, the ground game, and the biography to back it up. Pinkston is a seventh-generation Tennessean, a PhD in international development who lived five years inside a communist country watching elections up close, a mother advocating for a child with special needs, and a founder who built a business with survivors of human trafficking. In this conversation, she breaks down the 775,000-vote path to victory, why 60-70% of her incoming support is Republicans looking for an off-ramp from the MAGA machine, the $83 billion road backlog Nashville won't touch, the housing crisis pricing working families out of their own state, and why open primaries are non-negotiable for anyone who actually believes in the Constitution. It's a briefing on what independent infrastructure looks like when it's built right — couch by couch, county by county. -WATCH full video of this episode here. -Visit Kalshi and trade on anything. Michael Pettis joins Alan Dunne for a wide ranging conversation on trade imbalances, globalization and the future of the world economy. Drawing on decades of research into China, Europe and financial history, Pettis argues that persistent trade surpluses are ultimately rooted in domestic income imbalances rather than national competitiveness. The discussion explores why China struggles to rebalance, why Europe may face its biggest challenge yet, and how US reindustrialization could reshape global trade. From Bretton Woods to modern tariffs, this episode offers a provocative framework for understanding the forces driving the next phase of the global economy.-----50 YEARS OF TREND FOLLOWING BOOK AND BEHIND-THE-SCENES VIDEO FOR ACCREDITED INVESTORS - CLICK HERE-----Follow Niels on Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube or via the TTU website.IT's TRUE ? – most CIO's read 50+ books each year – get your FREE copy of the Ultimate Guide to the Best Investment Books ever written here. And you can get a free copy of my latest book “Ten Reasons to Add Trend Following to Your Portfolio” here.Learn more about the Trend Barometer here.Send your questions to info@toptradersunplugged.comAnd please share this episode with a like-minded friend and leave an honest Rating & Review on iTunes or Spotify so more people can discover the podcast.Follow Alan on LinkedIn.Follow Michael on X.Episode TimeStamps: 00:00 - Michael Pettis warns that the real trade reckoning may still lie ahead01:07 - Introduction to Michael Pettis and his background in finance and economics06:34 - Why trade imbalances are ultimately driven by income imbalances09:59 - Germany's Hartz reforms and the roots of European imbalances17:22 - Competitiveness versus productivity and the hidden costs of wage suppression27:48 - China's growth model and why rebalancing has proved so difficult35:54 - Who will absorb China's trade surplus if the US closes its deficit?40:24 - Can the United States successfully reindustrialize?45:31 - Why Europe may eventually turn toward protectionism52:17 - The US deficit, global capital flows and the burden of dollar dominance01:01:50 - Why the renminbi is unlikely to replace the dollar01:10:45 - Historical trade imbalances and how painful adjustments unfold01:16:21 - What Japan's experience reveals about China's future01:21:02 - Final reflections on debt, globalization and economic adjustmentCopyright © 2025 – CMC AG – All Rights Reserved----PLUS: Whenever you're ready... here are 3 ways I can help you in your investment Journey:1. eBooks that cover key topics that you need to know about In my eBooks, I put together some key discoveries and things I have learnt during the more than 3 decades I have worked in the Trend Following industry, which I hope you will find useful. In Australia, no wedding or school dance is complete without the Nutbush, Australia's unofficial national dance. The Nutbush – a simple line dance to the song “Nutbush City Limits,” by Ike and Tina Turner – has become as stereotypically Australian as kangaroos, boomerangs, and Vegemite. And yet, hardly anyone outside of Australia even knows the Nutbush exists. Here at Decoder Ring, we certainly didn't – until we started getting emails from Australians asking us to investigate its origins. How did an American song become the soundtrack for an Australian national tradition? Who invented the iconic steps, and why does every Australian know them? Our producer Max Freedman put on his dancing shoes to get some answers. The global, century-spanning story of the Nutbush involves Australia, Tennessee, Denmark, primary schools, gay discos, and demonstrates that even the goofiest cultural touchstones can go surprisingly deep.In this episode you'll hear from culture journalists David Mack and Angus Kidman; Nutbush researchers Panizza Allmark and Jon Stratton; dance historians Erica Okamura and Richard Powers; Dr. Fiona Chatteur, Jeremy Santolin, and Brian Kerr. This episode was written and produced by Max Freedman and edited by Evan Chung, our supervising producer. On today's episode, host Kate Lindsay is joined by Slate staff writer Nitish Pawha to discuss his piece “Your TV Is Not Safe.” Apps like Instagram, Substack, and Spotify are making the leap from smart phones to smart TVs, as TVs attempt to compete against scrolling, and the nature of entertainment is changing. But giving over our TVs to these companies even further changes our relationships with technology, and even more, how we spend time with each other. This podcast is produced by Vic Whitley-Berry, Daisy Rosario, and Kate Lindsay, with help from A.C. Valdez. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
You know the Tootsie Shot. It's that image that pops up all the time in movies set in a dense city: a really busy midtown street, everyone going somewhere—and smack in the middle of it all is the protagonist. You can find it in Working Girl, Midnight Cowboy, Wall Street, Heartburn, Elf, Bridget Jones's Diary, The Devil Wears Prada, The Wolf of Wall Street, and so many more. But while it's one of the most recognizable camera shots in all of film, it only amounts to a short, transitional moment, often in the middle of a montage, and sometimes lasting for a couple seconds. It is, after all, just someone walking down a crowded street. So why is it so sticky? Some of the voices you'll hear in this episode include James Sanders, author of Celluloid Skyline: New York and the Movies; cinematographer Adam Holender; producer Anna Wenger; assistant director Joe Reidy, author Christopher Bonanos, media and entertainment lawyer Sam Bayard, and location manager Mara Alcaly. Also thanks to Jason Bailey, Sam Levy, Glenn Kenny, Carlo Mirabella-Davis, J.D. Birth rarely unfolds exactly as we imagine, yet many expectant parents enter labor with expectations shaped by stories, social media, classes, and conversations with care providers. In this episode, Deb sits down with doula, Lamaze childbirth educator, and lactation counselor Robin Gibson Douthit to explore how those expectations influence the birth experience—and what happens when reality takes a different path. Robin shares how informed decision-making, advocacy, and collaborative care can help parents navigate the unpredictability of labor with confidence. Together, they discuss the difference between guidance and pressure, what true informed consent looks like in practice, and how strong relationships with care providers can shape both expectations and outcomes. This conversation offers practical insights for preparing for birth in a way that balances knowledge, flexibility, and trust in the process. Selling your company can look like "the big win." The check clears. The headlines sound nice. Maybe someone even posts a tasteful LinkedIn announcement with way too many gratitude emojis. Then comes the hard part: contracts, systems, data, cyber risk, SOPs, people, processes, and the tiny little question that can wreck a deal: Can this business actually run without you? In this episode of The Liquid Lunch Project Podcast, Matt sits down with Mark Sims, Managing Principal of Technology Solutions at ConsultMSG, to talk about what business owners need to fix before private equity shows up with a checkbook. Yes, they talk about what happens after a private equity deal closes. New boss. New board. New systems. New rules. Weird vibes in the Monday meeting. But the bigger warning is this: if your business is held together by handshake deals, tribal knowledge, messy data, and "Judy knows where that file is," you may not get the valuation, speed, or smooth transition you were hoping for. Mark breaks down how technology, clean data, documented processes, AI, cybersecurity, and basic operational discipline can protect company value before a sale…or quietly drain it when buyers start looking under the hood.

In this episode, we look at Genesis 15:1-21 and the tension many believers feel: How do we trust God who promises, but has not yet delivered? When our circumstances seem to contradict what God has said, waiting can feel confusing, painful, and discouraging. But Genesis 15 reminds us that God is not afraid of our questions. He invites us to look to Him in the delay, trust His timing, and rest in the certainty of His promises. A researcher, Edtech expert, and PhD candidate studying the intersection of AI, learning, and human experience, Kris brings a rare combination of academic rigor and real-world application to the question every principal is quietly asking: is all this technology actually helping? His work with Play Piper puts him at the front lines of how kids interact with screens — and what happens when that interaction goes wrong. Kris has been studying and speaking about screen usage in learning environments since 2013, long before most districts had a policy on the subject. AI policy still doesn't exist in most school districts in 2026. Meta and YouTube just lost a major court case over intentionally building products harmful to kids. And the principals who bought Edtech tools during COVID are still living with implementations they never had time to design properly. Kris returns to the RuckusCast to name the problem clearly: technology in schools is being treated as the experience instead of a tool within the experience — and that distinction is costing students more than anyone wants to admit.
There is a thing you want. You know what it is. You have known what it is for a long time. And somewhere, somehow, you have made peace with not having it. Quietly. Without ceremony. Without ever naming the moment you stopped reaching. This episode is about that moment. Not the wanting. Not the failure to reach. The decision that was already made underneath both. The decision your identity made on your behalf, without your knowledge, and possibly without your soul's survival in mind. A samurai kneels in a Kyoto garden at dawn, ready to die for the code. A butler sits in the back of a car, watching the woman he loved disappear in the rearview mirror. Different uniform. Different century. The same prison. Neither man built that prison from weakness. They built it from the best of themselves. The most devastating prisons are not built from your worst. They are built from your best. This is Season Two, Episode Two of The Polymathic Perspective. The second installment in a ten-episode investigation into what we want but refuse to accept. We examine the mechanism through neuroscience, identity psychology, identity foreclosure, the Emotional Source Code, and the Emotional Meaning Architecture. We watch it operating in Ishiguro's "Remains of the Day" lead character 'Stevens'. In an engineering company that lost its soul in the boardroom, in a nation that built a vision it cannot play in. The question is not what you are afraid of losing. The question is what your identity has already decided you cannot have. And whether that decision is actually yours. On episode 1204 of Daytime Confidential, Luke Kerr, Jillian Bowe and Melodie Aikels take a deep dive into the Beyond the Gates' disaster spectacular that brought The Young and the Restless' Newmans, Abbotts and Winters to Fairmont Crest. The DC trio shares what stood out to them, before digging into the meaty drama of the past week. From Victor Newman's (Eric Braeden) arrival by helicopter to Jack (Peter Bergman) and Diane (Susan Walters) dodging Tomas (Alex Alegria) and Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Hayley's (Marquita Goings) chemistry, they delve into the Genoa City guests at Martin's (Brandon Claybon) fundraiser. Should Kyle visit Fairmont Crest again in the future or Hayley set her sights on Kyle after scoring a fortune from Bill? The Young and the Restless dropped the ball on aligning its storylines with the crossover's continuity. Before the fundraiser kicked off viewers finally learned the idenitity of The Impaler. Super Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom) saved Abby (Melissa Ordway) from a chandelier cake topper, but why was he so front and center in the disaster? Why wasn't he kicked out instead of being allowed to hang around. Why is Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) so stupid? Kat (Colby Nixon) and Eva (Ambyr Michelle) trapped together provided great drama, but will anyone be on Kat's side when she doesn't want to donate a kidney to save her half-sister's life? Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) had some of the best singers of the event, but BTG still gave her moments of humanity as she searched for her missing daughter. Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) and Dani (Karla Mosley) had sex in the elevator, but what does this mean for Dani and Andre (Sean Freeman)? Should BTG tell a who's the daddy storyline or should they leave a baby out of the picture? Andre professing his fear of losing Dani tore the DC hosts apart. Does Bill want back in the Dupree family? Martin went from being trapped under a tree to an asshole in the blink of an eye. A couple characters' wigs and eyebrows distracted the hosts from the drama. The tornado event definitely provided an opportunity for some actors to step up, while other actors stumbled under the weight of the special episodes. The hosts reveal their final thoughts on the Beyond the Gates / The Young and the Restless disaster crossover before rating the event. All this and more on the latest Daytime Confidential podcast! Welcome to The Times of Israel's Daily Briefing, your 20-minute audio update on what's happening in Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world. Editor David Horovitz joins host Amanda Borschel-Dan for today's episode. During the course of the G7 summit of global leaders in France on Tuesday, US President Donald Trump said that Syria should replace Israel in the fight against Lebanon’s Hezbollah. He argued that the Jewish state’s war on the Iran-backed terror group has been too prolonged and indiscriminate, adding that Israel would have been “blown off the face of the earth” if not for him. Horovitz unpacks the multilayered concerns plaguing Israel in the wake of Trump's statements. The US-Iran memorandum of understanding, expected to be signed at an in-person gathering on Friday, reportedly provides for a full cessation of hostilities by Iran, the United States and their allies — including in Lebanon, where Israel has been battling Tehran’s proxy Hezbollah. This comes as Israel and Lebanon are nearing a US-mediated lasting ceasefire agreement, according to a Tuesday report. If the IDF were to withdraw from southern Lebanon, are Lebanese forces really strong enough to face Hezbollah? Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich claimed on Tuesday to have “abolished” components of the 1997 Hebron agreement that gave the Palestinian municipal council of Hebron authority over planning, zoning and construction in the H2 zone of the West Bank city, where the Jewish settlement of Hebron is located along with the Tomb of the Patriarchs. Can this effort be isolated from the looming elections? Horovitz weighs in on this and the current ultra-Orthodox move in the Knesset to pass Basic Law: Torah Study.
