In honor of Memorial Day and the men and women who have sacrificed their lives in the armed forces, this special episode of Strategies & Consequences War is an anthology of excerpts from poems and prose about war. In On War, Clausewitz writes about war as a science that can be analyzed impersonally. This perspective is contrasted with Mccrae's In Flanders Fields and Komunyakaa's Tu Do Street. These poems reflect lived experience in brutal conflicts and the effects on combatants and civilians alike.
