Suspend Disbelief is your source for a down-to-Earth approach to a variety of topics circling around current events, spirituality, entertainment, and self-expression. Instead of the emotionally heightened response that we fall into from time to time, consider allowing these emotional reactions to enter into our lives undisturbed. Let’s reserve time and space to fully experience these helpful guides to growth.
On this episode I got to Talk to Courtnie Elseneter. Courtnie is from Minneapolis Minnesota where she is taking care of her kids and keeping things afloat. I learned a lot about Paganism and how it is not so different as most other religions and forms of spirituality. Courtnie is a kind soul that has overcome a lot of ups and downs in her life. I appreciate and commend her for opening up to me and for the listeners to hear.
I got to talk with Caitlin Hughes. Caitlin is living in upstate New York with her Husband and co-host of the Domestic Debates Podcast. I really enjoyed talking with her. We discuss many varying topics including our love for where we live, storytelling, and couples stuff we can all relate to. Deep down I believe most of us just want to talk to one another. Not shout, not tell people they’re doing it wrong, not kicking crosses down. Just conversations. I myself have many questions I want to ask thousands of different people and cannot do so if the world is a hyper-polarized, and angry place. Caitlin reassured my faith that the world is not a cold, dead place. I am grateful to have gotten the chance to talk to her.
Jenn and I have more in common than expected. With our initial fear of sleepovers, being in the high school drum line, and having rewarding experiences with therapy. She also mentions a book, “The Five People You Meet in Heaven” It is nice to know that there are many different ways in which we as a species can get our lives in order. First we need to realize that re-order is something that needs our attention in the first place. Once you have established the want, whether from fear, anger, confusion, or distraction. Once you begin that first step, the possibilities are endless.
I got to talk to Liz Carry. Liz is currently living in Michigan as a paralegal. Liz and I discuss criminal defense, the court system nowadays and it’s slow ramp-up to the delays of COVID-19. Liz is also the co-host in the criminal defense podcast Constitutional Defenders. Working in a socially less desired field takes it’s toll on everyone. It is nice to know that there are people in the world that want to do the work that is difficult for a lot of us to wrap our brain’s around. I enjoyed my time talking with her and look forward to listening to her podcast.

In this episode we discuss how partisanship is limiting us as a society from discovering common threads within our culture. Hayden and his co-host explore this, among many other topics in their show.Modern Guilt Podcast
Michel is a retired police officer, EMT, Statesman, and a jack of most trades when it comes to public service, self defense, and engineering. Him and I discuss the ways in which law enforcement has changed in the world. Different approaches that can further the progress of long term positive change, how we’re dealing with the pandemic, and we make different observations as to the flaws of partisanship while living in the United states under a two party system.
Today I talk with Mandy Larsen. Mandy is a registered cardiac nurse living in Richmond Virginia who has recently been given the title of COVID nurse. Nurse Larsen goes into great and descriptive detail on the ins and outs of the hospital setting during the time of our pandemic. If you, like myself are fortunate enough to not know the inside of a hospital since the pandemic, this episode is for you.

Desmond is a great communicator and I value our friendship. He has been a real mentor to me in the times of my current career path, and through out our day to day lives. We’re both pretty tired with keeping up with all the outrage, and he makes good points on the different priorities with these big picture current events. I also throw in a brief surf report & we try and make light of how we are handling things given our fatigue. I am glad that I get to check in with him whenever the opportunity presents itself. Hope everyone is staying safe and sane out there. Please share with your friends and get the word out. It is greatly appreciated.
