The world of shamanism is being flooded today which is exciting for the planet! But there is also a lot of misinformation being shared these days as people try to find ways to call different spiritual paths shamanism. To be on the path of shamanism means you enter into a trance state to connect deeply with helping and compassionate Spirits in the unseen realms.Join Sandra Ingerman and Renee Baribeau as they talk about how the helping Spirits share perspectives we cannot see through our human eyes about many aspects of life and healing. Both Renee and Sandra are elders on the path and provide guidance about how shamanism veers from other spiritual traditions. There is a lot of humor in this show too! In this episode, we explore cultural appropriation within modern witchcraft and spiritual practice, examining how language, symbols, and practices can become disconnected from the cultures that created them. Together, we discuss why the origins of the words we use matter, how good intentions are not always enough, and what it means to approach spiritual traditions with respect, curiosity, and accountability.Through thoughtful conversation, we examine common terms and practices that have become widespread within modern pagan and witchcraft communities, exploring where they come from, how their meanings have changed over time, and why listening to the voices of the cultures they originate from is an essential part of ethical practice. Rather than offering a list of rules, we invite listeners into a conversation about learning, growth, and the responsibility that comes with engaging traditions beyond our own.Join us as we reflect on how curiosity, humility, and a willingness to keep learning can help us build a more informed, respectful, and authentic spiritual practice. This path isn't about perfection; it's about presence. In this show Renee Baribeau and Sandra Ingerman speak about how the Earth, Air, Water, Fire and all that exists in the world are conscious beings. What would happen if we spoke to everything that exists on Earth including the Planet itself as a conscious living being? How would we grow and evolve to a higher state of consciousness if we connected to all of life through our body instead of just using our minds? We love to receive messages from Nature. But what changes inside of us if we go beyond words and connect through our psychic sense of clairsentience to feel our connection? This is an important show for all of us craving deeper spiritual connections with the naturalworld. A frequent argument leveled against the Bible by skeptics and non-believers is that the Bible is just a collection of borrowed myths from surrounding pagan nations. But is that actually true? Are stories in the Bible just borrowed mythology from other pagan cultures? The short answer is "Absolutely not." The longer answer can be found in Old Testament scholar and theologian Dr. John Oswalt, in his 2009 book, The Bible Among the Myths - Unique Revelation or Just Ancient Literature? This week and next on Apologetics Profile, Watchman staff apologist Daniel Ray sits down with John for a lively and highly accessible and pastoral conversation about his book. From Zondervan Academic: Dr. John N. Oswalt (PhD, Brandeis University) is Visiting Distinguished Professor of Old Testament at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky. Laurie Cardoza-Moore welcomes Yaffah Batya DaCosta back to Proclaiming Justice for a second conversation, this time on communion.Where did the doctrine of transubstantiation actually come from, and does it hold up against the Torah's clear prohibition on consuming blood? DaCosta walks through the Fourth Lateran Council of 1215, the influence of Constantine and the Greco-Roman reshaping of the early church, and what Jesus, a Torah-observant Jew, most likely meant when he said "this is my body, this is my blood."The conversation also touches Deuteronomy 18's prophecy of a coming prophet, and how institutional blindness to these Jewish roots later opened the door to antisemitism within the Church and beyond it. If you've ever wondered how much of what you practice on Sunday actually traces back to Scripture, this episode is for you.Follow, share, and support PJTN's mission to educate Christians in biblical truth at pjtn.org.00:00 Cold Open: Is Communion Against the Torah?01:20 Meet Yaffah Batya DaCosta03:19 Laurie's Catholic Roots and the Question That Started It All05:14 What Is Transubstantiation? In this episode, we continue our exploration of spiritual deconstruction by examining the questions from the Tempering Path lesson on unlearning binaries. Together, we work through the assumptions we've inherited about spirituality, morality, and the ways we divide the world into simple categories.Through thoughtful discussion and personal reflection, we explore how black-and-white thinking can shape our relationships with deities, magic, community, and ourselves. What beliefs have we accepted without question? Which ones still serve us, and which ones are ready to be reexamined?Join us as we navigate these questions together, embracing a spiritual path that values curiosity, nuance, and the freedom to grow beyond inherited certainties. This path isn't about perfection; it's about presence. Resource Coordinator Kelley Fox talks with Rev. Kearstin Bailey about the beauty of finding God in practices some religious people consider taboo. Delving into tarot, astrology, and religious history, Kelley and Kearstin uncover the divine that they've found through their spiritual practices. From how to begin exploring spirituality outside of the institutional comfort zone of faith to the ways that White Christian Patriarchy uses taboos to keep people of color, women, and queer people oppressed, this episode delves into the entangled nature of pagan spiritual practices and finding the divine in daily life. ANGELA'S SYMPOSIUM 📖 Academic Study on Witchcraft, Paganism, esotericism, magick and the Occult
Was ritual magic ever taken seriously by philosophers? In this episode, I explore Neoplatonism and theurgy, the ancient ritual philosophy that challenged the idea that spiritual ascent happens through contemplation alone. From Plotinus and Porphyry to Iamblichus, Proclus, and the Chaldean Oracles, we will examine how late antique philosophers understood ritual, divine symbols, sacred matter, and the soul's return to the divine.Rather than treating theurgy as superstition or irrational magic, recent scholarship has shown that it was a sophisticated philosophical system in which ritual, embodiment, and material objects played a central role in spiritual transformation.I also discuss why this matters for contemporary practitioners of magic, Paganism, polytheism, and Western esotericism today. Can ritual truly connect the human and divine? Is theurgy different from sorcery? And what happens when philosophy becomes a sacred practice?Join me as we uncover the ancient philosophy behind ritual magic.SIGN UP NOW ➡️ https://drangelapuca.com/the-philosophy-of-magicCONNECT & SUPPORT
A moving portrait of the iconic figure who led the way in establishing Wicca in North America―with remembrances of his life by his sister, Christine Cunningham Ashworth, and appreciations written by key figures in today's world of witchcraft, magic, tarot, and astrology. The iconic and renowned bestselling author Scott Cunningham (1956–1993) played a significant role in establishing Wicca in North America. His pioneering book Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner radically altered the practice of Wicca, enabling practitioners to self-initiate. Scott's books, especially his encyclopedias, remain popular today, years after his death. In recent years, Scott has also emerged as a celebrated queer icon, especially in the witchcraft world. Although so many people have come to Wicca and Paganism through his books, little is actually known about Scott Cunningham as a person. His little sister, Christine Cunningham Ashworth, seeks to remedy that. Christine grew up with him, laughed with him, learned with him, fought with him, and shared joys and sorrows. She writes about their childhood, gives a peek into their parents' lives, and brings to life what it was like to grow up in the Cunningham household. She explores the trajectory of Scott's magical path and affirms his legacy. Christine shares family photos and lifts the veil from Scott's life.
We are living in some dark times. And we all want to feel we have something to trust in. It might seem paradoxical but walking through darkness can be a very rich time in time in our lives and it brings us to a place where we learn what forces we can trust.Join Renee Baribeau and Sandra Ingerman in this most interesting discussion on how when we are are in dark times and walking through darkness there are greater forces within and without us which help us navigate our journey back into the light and a higher place of evolution.Support the show
In this episode, we're challenging one of the most common assumptions in modern spirituality: that light is inherently good, darkness is inherently evil, and our spiritual paths should always move toward one while avoiding the other.Together, we explore how these binaries shape the way we think about deities, magic, death work, shadow work, healing, and even ourselves. What happens when we stop viewing darkness as something to fear? What if light isn't always gentle, and darkness isn't always harmful?Join us as we unpack the importance of unlearning spiritual binaries and embracing a more balanced, nuanced approach to practice, one that leaves room for complexity, curiosity, and a deeper relationship with the divine. This path isn't about perfection; it's about presence. I'm just a plain-Jane kind of girl from the Southern US, raised on cornbread, front porch stories, and in the rhythm of Southern Baptist Sundays. My path to Paganism has been long, winding, often surprising, and full of unexpected turns. I didn't find it all at once. The more I leaned into my dreams, my intuition, and my experiences with spirit, the more the world began to shimmer with meaning. The gods, the dead, the land – all of it was speaking. These days, I'm a priestess of death and rebirth, of sovereignty and sacred mischief. I walk with spirits. I work with Gods who burn away illusions and shine light into shadow. My magic is devotional and practical, grounded and ecstatic. I believe in sacred rest, in the wisdom of the body, and in building spiritual homes for people like us, the seekers, the weirdos, the ones who never stopped asking questions. It's Monday, June 29th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Hungarian homosexual pride march draws 100,000 On June 27th, at least 100,000 Hungarians gathered in 100-degree heat in Budapest to celebrate their 31st annual Homosexual Pride march, reports the Associated Press. It's the first such event since conservative Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was defeated in the April election. To his credit, Orban had prohibited the portrayal or "promotion" of homosexuality and gender transition to minors in schools and media aimed at children. Plus, the Hungarian Parliament amended the civil registry law so that official documents permanently record a person's "sex at birth" which ensures that citizens cannot legally pretend to be the opposite sex. And the Parliament limited adoption to married heterosexual couples. Hungary does not allow homosexual marriage. Sadly, under new leadership, all of that may change. Leviticus 18:22 says, “Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.” Venezuelan death toll skyrocketed to 1,430 people Tragically, the death toll in those two major Venezuelan earthquakes last Wednesday has skyrocketed from 164 to 1,430 as of June 27th, reports NBC News. Plus, there are an astounding 51,000 people missing. According to the BBC, emergency teams are still searching for people trapped in buildings that collapsed in the earthquakes. Antoan Marín said, "Rescue workers are overwhelmed. They are pulling people out with their bare hands.” Over 2,000 rescue units from 21 international groups are on the ground in Venezuela or en route. Samaritan's Purse airlifted an Emergency Hospital to Venezuela On Saturday, the Samaritan's Purse cargo plane airlifted life-saving supplies, including an Emergency Field Hospital, to Venezuela. Hospitals in the hardest hit areas were already strained before the earthquakes. Now, many are damaged and overwhelmed with people in desperate need of care. The Samaritan's Purse Emergency Field Hospital is capable of treating more than 100 people each day. It will be equipped with multiple operating rooms, a critical care unit, pharmacy, and laboratory. The ministry has also airlifted emergency shelter material, solar lights, and blankets to provide relief to families who are suffering. Franklin Graham, the president of Samaritan's Purse, said, “Roads have been split wide open and hundreds of buildings have collapsed. People are living on the streets—terrified of aftershocks. It's heartbreaking to see the suffering and loss. We love the people of this country, and we want to do all that we can to help in Jesus' Name.” Send a much-needed gift to help equip Samaritan's Purse in their rescue efforts in Venezuela through a special link in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com. 1 John 3:17 says, “If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?” Three Democratic Socialists win in New York Three Democratic Socialists of America candidates beat establishment Democrats in New York City's June 23rd primary, winning with the backing from the city's democratic socialist mayor, Zohran Mamdani, reports USA Today. Claire Valdez and Darializa Avila Chevalier won in the 7th and 13th Congressional Districts for the U.S. House. Aber Kawas won in New York State Senate District 12. Chevalier and Valdez vowed to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement. And Chevalier once said, “I forgot to get napkins so I just wiped my hand on the American flag behind me." Plus, she wants to close down prisons and abolish the police. In 2017, Kawas, a Muslim woman, told a panel that the 9/11 attacks were America's fault, the result of "capitalism and racism and White supremacy ... and Islamophobia." Democrat Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania, said this on social media: "Anti-Israel. Anti-America. Anti-Western Civilization. Why am I the only Democrat in the U.S. Senate that refuses to excuse this or defend any of those self-identified communists?" And Republican Congressman Randy Fine of Florida sounded off as well. FINE: “It's a sad day for America. I mean, these people are bad people. We've got to be worried about the future of the country. “The Democrats are no longer the loyal opposition. In many cases, they are the enemy of the country. And I don't think it's hyperbole to say that. These are people who hate America and who seek its destruction.” Texas considers removing American Revolution from mandated history lessons The Texas State Board of Education is proposing changes to mandated school curriculum for the 5.5 million Texas students that would remove lessons about the American Revolution and would marginalize our Founding Fathers, reports Christian talk show host Todd Starnes. Conservatives are alleging that three Republicans joined Democrats to push through radical changes recommended by the Council on American Islamic Relations. Julie Pickren, a conservative Republican on the Texas Board of Education, exposed the group behind these radical changes. PICKREN: “About nine months ago, a foreign terrorist organization called the Council on American-Islamic Relations, which the FBI says is the face of the Muslim Brotherhood in America, they got involved in this process. And they got involved pretty heavily. They started showing up at all of our meetings and testifying, sending a lot of emails, making a lot of phone calls and text messages.” The Texas School Board specifically objected to the stories of Valley Forge as well as the battles of Lexington and Bunker Hill. Instead, the board wanted to provide lessons on modern-day Americans like Oprah Winfrey rather than our first president George Washington. References to the Black Robed Regiment were also removed. That regiment was comprised of a group of Protestant pastors who supported and fought for the American Revolution. Julie Pikren revealed that the three liberal Republicans who sided with the radical Muslim re-write of American history were Pam Little, Will Hickman, and Keven Ellis. Together with the five Democrats, they formed an 8-person majority voting bloc. Mrs. Pikren explained the motivation of the Muslim lobbyist group. PIKREN: “The terrorists, they don't want U.S. history taught. They don't want founding documents taught. They don't want presidents and founding fathers taught. And it's very sad that these Republicans are aligning with the mandate from a terrorist organization and joining the Democrats in passing this.” Send a polite, but firm short email to these three liberal Republicans on the Texas Board of Education to let them know your objections. pam.little@sboe.texas.gov, will.hickman@tea.texas.gov, ellisSBOE@gmail.com You can find their email addresses in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com. Julian the Apostate acknowledged Christ's victory over paganism And finally, 1,663 years ago, on June 26th A.D. 363, Roman Emperor Julian the Apostate died on the battlefield in modern-day Iraq. As his name suggests, he spent his life seeking to restore paganism in the Roman Empire and undo Christian reforms brought by Emperor Constantine the Great. However, in his dying words, Julian admitted, “Thou hast won, O Galilean,” referencing Jesus Christ. These words represented the victory of Christ over Caesar in the first 300 years of history since the Resurrection. The universal practice of shamanism dates back over 100,000 years. Originally shamanism was all about connecting the land, the plants, the animals, the Elements, and the Moon, stars, planets, galaxies, and the Universe. Shamanism was practiced for survival. The sky beings gave Shamans around the world all the news of what was happening on the planet and what was to come. The Spirits taught Shamans how to deeply connect to the land to build shelter and to find food.In a modern technological society, our needs changed and we turned to the practice of shamanism for our personal needs.Join Renee Baribeau and Sandra Ingerman as they explore how we are now moving to a time where we do need to create true embodiment with the forces of Shamanism that helped people survive for ages. But Christianity also benefitted from the Roman world. And when Rome collapsed in the West, Christianity provided the hope for preserving civilization. In this free, eleven-lecture course, Professor Kenneth Calvert will explore: How the Jewish, Greek, and Roman cultures all contributed to preparing the world to hear the Gospel. Why many Romans distrusted and persecuted the early Christians. The inspiring stories of Christ, His apostles, and faithful ones throughout the first four centuries of Christianity. The arguments of key early Christian apologists—Ignatius, Irenaeus, Justin, Athanasius, and more—who defended and defined the Christian faith amidst the animosity of the Roman world. The conversion of Constantine and how he brought stability to Rome, and how the rivalry between his sons almost returned Rome to paganism. How Augustine's writings helped preserve the message of Christianity during the collapse of the Roman Empire in the West. Phil's perfectly timed movie blooper at the Colosseum gives the guys a hilarious opening to a much bigger point: empires rise, empires fall, but Christ's kingdom never shakes. Al, Zach, John Luke, and Christian connect ancient Rome's paganism to modern America's idols, from power and politics to screens and the new “religions” people build around personal freedom. Through Rome's ruins, modern America's chaos, and the steady faith of the early church, the guys point back to the kingdom of God as the only power that survives every age. When one looks at some of the Ancient Civilizations that are written about in myths and legends it is taught that long ago humans saw themselves as part of one collective. There was no division only oneness. As we know humanity moved into division and separation from each other, Nature, and the sacred web of life. Could this be the source of how greed was born? For the behavior of the collective has moved into greed.Sandra Ingerman and Renee Baribeau decided to explore the source of greed during this show which is an important aspect to look at as we try to move forward creating a good life for all. Welcome to Day 2876 of Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom – Progressive Christianity and the Northern Kingdom: A Repeated Rebellion. Wisdom-Trek Podcast Script - Day 2876 Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! I am Guthrie Chamberlain, and we are on Day 2876 of our Trek. The Purpose of Wisdom-Trek is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Our current series of Theology Thursday lessons is written by theologian and teacher John Daniels. I have found that his lessons are short, easy to understand, doctrinally sound, and applicable to all who desire to learn more of God's Word. John's lessons can be found on his website theologyinfive.com. Today's lesson is titled: Progressive Christianity and the Northern Kingdom: A Repeated Rebellion. After the division of Israel, Jeroboam feared losing his kingdom if the people continued worshiping in Jerusalem. Rather than abolish religion, he reshaped it. He placed golden calves at Dan and Bethel and declared, “Here are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt” (First Kings 12, verse twenty-eight). He kept the name of Yahweh but changed the worship to fit political and cultural needs. Progressive Christianity walks the same path. It keeps the language of faith while redefining the terms. Jesus becomes a moral teacher rather than the risen Lord. Sin becomes injustice rather than rebellion. Salvation becomes social healing rather than spiritual redemption. Just like the Northern Kingdom, modern progressives offer a god who is familiar in name but foreign in nature. The First Segment is: “Open-Minded” Idolatry The people of Israel did not see themselves as rejecting Yahweh. They simply wanted to be open to other spiritual options. Baal was worshiped for rain, Asherah for fertility, and Molech for prosperity. The land was filled with high places, groves, and alternate shrines. In their minds, it was not apostasy. It was balance. It was maturity. Progressive Christianity mirrors this impulse. Its leaders are often proud to affirm all religions as valid paths to the divine. Jesus is presented as one example among many. Interfaith services blend Scripture with mantras, chakras, and meditation. This “open-mindedness” is not new. It is the same spiritual adultery that the prophets condemned as whoredom. God does not share His throne. The second Segment is: Pagan Intrusion in Sacred Clothing The Israelites introduced forbidden elements into their worship. They practiced divination, consulted mediums, and used cultic rituals they learned from their Canaanite neighbors. They may have justified these things as “spiritual tools,” but the prophets saw clearly what was happening. Paganism was creeping into the house of God. Today, angel cards, energy healing, astrology, aura readings, and manifesting are all being imported into churches, especially those influenced by progressive and New Apostolic Reformation theology. These practices are often wrapped in Christian language. They speak of light, Spirit, and destiny. But they are no different from the forbidden rituals of ancient days. Their power does not come from the Holy Spirit. It comes from the same deceiving spirits that always wait behind the idols. The Third Segment is: The Rise of Prophetic Theater In the Northern Kingdom, the prophets became professional performers. They declared victory and blessing without requiring repentance. They contradicted the true prophets, promising peace while ignoring rebellion. Jeremiah lamented, “They say continually to those who despise the word of the Lord, ‘It shall be well with you'” (Jeremiah 23, verse seventeen). Today's “prophecy schools,” such as Bethel's School of Supernatural Ministry, follow a disturbingly similar pattern. They claim to train individuals to “activate” prophetic gifts, to decree and declare realities into being, and to access heaven's secrets at will. But true prophecy in Scripture was never a skill to be mastered or a sensation to be invoked. It was a calling given by God to speak His Word with fear and trembling. At Bethel and similar movements, prophecy becomes performance. It centers on personal revelation, emotional experience, and “manifesting” outcomes rather than repentance, obedience, and holiness. Like the prophets of the Northern Kingdom, these teachers proclaim peace where there is no peace and glory without the cross. The emphasis on “prophetic activation” closely mirrors the divination condemned by Moses, where the divine is manipulated for human ends rather than received with reverent submission. The Fourth Segment is: Cultural Syncretism Rebranded as Revival Ancient Israel thought it could have both Yahweh and Baal. It thought it could use Canaanite worship styles to honor the God of Abraham. But Yahweh had already spoken at Sinai. His worship was not negotiable. Israel's attempt to blend cultures resulted in divine rejection. Progressive Christianity makes the same mistake. It borrows the language of self-help, the values of humanism, and the practices of mysticism. It attempts to wrap them in Christian terms, calling it “revival” or “awakening.” But Yahweh does not share His glory. He is not worshiped on the high places. He is not accessed through emotion, technique, or personal preference. He demands covenant faithfulness. The fifth segment is: The Prophets Were Never Popular In the Northern Kingdom, the true prophets were persecuted. Elijah was hunted. Amos was silenced. Hosea was scorned. They did not tell people what they wanted to hear. They told them what God said. The people preferred the false prophets who promised peace, affirmation, and national greatness. Today, biblical voices that warn against false spirituality are called judgmental. They are told they are stifling the Spirit. They are accused of division and fear-mongering. But their words match the prophets of old. God does not change, and neither does the nature of rebellion. The sixth segment is: The Consequence of Compromise The Northern Kingdom fell. Assyria crushed it, and its people were scattered. The fall was not just political. It was spiritual. The gods they welcomed could not save them. The prophets they trusted led them into ruin. God gave them over to what they had chosen. Progressive Christianity is on the same path. It trades revelation for reinvention. It welcomes what God forbids. It builds golden calves and calls them Jesus. Its trajectory is not renewal but collapse. A house built on sand will fall. In Conclusion The Northern Kingdom did not fall because it rejected religion. It fell because it redefined it. It kept the name of God while reshaping everything else. It embraced the gods of the age and called it progress. Progressive Christianity is repeating this rebellion. It is time to choose whom we will serve. For further study, consider these Discussion Questions Why do you think Jeroboam chose to redefine Israel's worship rather than abolish it outright? How does this reflect the way progressive Christianity reshapes faith today? What are the dangers of being “open-minded” about spiritual truth? At what point does openness become compromise, and how can we recognize the difference? How do modern practices like angel cards, manifesting, and prophetic activation parallel ancient forbidden rituals? Can these practices ever be redeemed or are they inherently incompatible with biblical faith? Why were the true prophets in Israel often unpopular and rejected? How does this help us evaluate popular spiritual leaders today? If the Northern Kingdom's downfall was theological more than political, what does that suggest about the long-term consequences of doctrinal compromise in the Church today?
