This is the seventh class in the second series studying the Book of the prophet Amos. This session focuses on Amos Chapter 8. Amos was active in the mid-eighth century BCE (ca. 750 BCE). He lived in the kingdom of Judah, in a town called Tekoa, some ten miles south of Jerusalem. Although he was from the Southern Kingdom, his prophecies focused on Israel, the Northern Kingdom. Unlike many of the other prophets, his primary charges against Israel dealt with injustice and immorality. Paganism, for Amos, was a secondary issue. Amos was a master of rhetorical argument, and his powerful use of metaphors is classical. The class took place via Zoom on June 17, 2025 Special Guest: Rabbi Emeritus Joel Rembaum.

ANGELA'S SYMPOSIUM 📖 Academic Study on Witchcraft, Paganism, esotericism, magick and the Occult
Why does Paganism attract so many LGBTQ+ people—and how are queer practitioners reshaping Pagan traditions from within? In this in-depth episode, Dr Angela Puca draws on extensive academic research and ethnographic evidence to explore the powerful intersection of queerness and contemporary Paganism. We'll examine why decentralised structures, ritual flexibility, and the sacralisation of the body make Paganism particularly resonant for queer seekers. From feminist Wicca to trans-inclusive magical circles, and from the mythic play of the Minoan Brotherhood to the controversies surrounding Dianic Witchcraft, this episode uncovers the theological innovations and spiritual practices that queer Pagans are creating. Drawing on scholarship by Sarah Pike, Melissa Wilcox, Robert Wallis, Martin Lepage, Kathryn Rountree, and many others, this lecture explores topics such as gender alchemy, ritual storytelling, queer reinterpretations of myth, and the embodied politics of magical practice. It also problematises the gender polarity model in traditional Wicca and explores how LGBTQ+ practitioners are queering divinity itself. Join us for a critical and compassionate conversation about how Paganism becomes not only a refuge for LGBTQ+ individuals but also a space of radical religious creativity.CONNECT & SUPPORT

Sandra was reading one of the posts on the Shamans Cave Facebook Page about the Bushmen who dance and sing for hours and the power and healing that comes from doing this. We have talked about the power of dancing, walking, and singing on a variety of past episodes. But as we have gotten into a habit of sitting more through driving, being on our devices too long, being on our computers, and working too long we are once again suppressing the true power that we came here to express. And in shamanic cultures people raise their energy through song and dance.Join Renee Baribeau and Sandra Ingerman as they talk about the healing that comes from movement and song. Full Text of ReadingsMemorial of Saint Boniface, Bishop and Martyr Lectionary: 300The Saint of the day is Saint BonifaceSaint Boniface's Story Boniface, known as the apostle of the Germans, was an English Benedictine monk who gave up being elected abbot to devote his life to the conversion of the Germanic tribes. Two characteristics stand out: his Christian orthodoxy and his fidelity to the pope of Rome. How absolutely necessary this orthodoxy and fidelity were is borne out by the conditions Boniface found on his first missionary journey in 719 at the request of Pope Gregory II. Paganism was a way of life. What Christianity he did find had either lapsed into paganism or was mixed with error. The clergy were mainly responsible for these latter conditions since they were in many instances uneducated, lax and questionably obedient to their bishops. In particular instances their very ordinations were questionable. These are the conditions that Boniface was to report in 722 on his first return visit to Rome. The Holy Father instructed him to reform the German Church. The pope sent letters of recommendation to religious and civil leaders. Boniface later admitted that his work would have been unsuccessful, from a human viewpoint, without a letter of safe-conduct from Charles Martel, the powerful Frankish ruler, grandfather of Charlemagne. Boniface was finally made a regional bishop and authorized to organize the whole German Church. He was eminently successful. In the Frankish kingdom, he met great problems because of lay interference in bishops' elections, the worldliness of the clergy and lack of papal control. During a final mission to the Frisians, Boniface and 53 companions were massacred while he was preparing converts for confirmation. In order to restore the Germanic Church to its fidelity to Rome and to convert the pagans, Boniface had been guided by two principles. The first was to restore the obedience of the clergy to their bishops in union with the pope of Rome. The second was the establishment of many houses of prayer which took the form of Benedictine monasteries. A great number of Anglo-Saxon monks and nuns followed him to the continent, where he introduced the Benedictine nuns to the active apostolate of education. Reflection Boniface bears out the Christian rule: To follow Christ is to follow the way of the cross. For Boniface, it was not only physical suffering or death, but the painful, thankless, bewildering task of Church reform. Missionary glory is often thought of in terms of bringing new persons to Christ. It seems—but is not—less glorious to heal the household of the faith. Saint Boniface is the Patron Saint of: Germany Enjoy these quotes from some of our favorite saints! Saint of the Day, Copyright Franciscan Media
For this episode I cover the beginning of Christianity. A story that has not often been told yet. Mary Magdalene and Yeshua didn't come here to create the form of Christianity that is now taught in Catholicism, Protestantism, and Eastern/Oriental Orthodoxy. They came to unite heaven & earth, a movement that can best be described as nature spirituality. Paganism merged with the believe in one God/source. This is what Celtic Christianity is. This is what has been taught in the schools and spiritual centres founded by Mary Magdalene and Yeshua. Recognising both God as well as the consciousness of Mother Earth. Living in tune with nature, regarding everything as alive and sacred while also accepting that there is one source of life in the universe. It's the marriage of the divine mother (Earth) with the divine father (Heaven) to create a child (humanity). Later Rome erased the feminine and pagan teachings from Christianity and claimed Jesus as their own and twisted his teachings to fit their narrative. Rome didn't just erase the original teachings, they also tried to erase the special bloodline that came down from Mary Magdalene and her and Yeshua's children. But they could not. In nature we have trees that who feed so many beings – humans, birds, insects, all that lives on the earth and air. And from a shamanic point of view these trees feel honored when we eat and feel nurtured from their fruits. But of course, then comes a cycle of regeneration of the silent process of going within to regenerate and become nourished again to have the strength tobloom in the spring and summer. This the most basic explanation of the cycle of life of the times when we grow horizontally and have the energy to give to others then shift into a time when we need to go within to our inner world to put our roots deep into the earth to draw up nurturance and raise our branches to the sky to draw down regenerative energy from the divine worlds.Join Sandra Ingerman and Renee Baribeau as they speak about this important topic and inspire you to look at how to balance your cycles so you are living in a way where you feel fully nurtured before you offer help to others and the planet.

John speaks with economist Philip Pilkington to explore the unraveling of global liberalism, tracing its roots from British imperialism to America's post-World War II dominance. Pilkington argues that economic liberalisation failed to universalise liberal values, as nations like China and India embrace markets while rejecting cultural liberalism. A multipolar world emerges, where non-liberal powers redefine global influence. Family breakdown and demographic decline threaten Western prosperity, with collapsing birth rates and rising welfare costs signalling societal decay. Radical green ideologies, rooted in neo-paganism, prioritise nature over human welfare, risking a return to impoverishment. Pilkington envisions a post-liberal West reviving Christian values to restore stable families and economic vitality.Philip Pilkington is a macroeconomist and investment professional. He is the author of The Reformation in Economics and the soon to be released The Collapse Of Global Liberalism. He also co-hosts the popular geopolitics podcast Multipolarity.
Ronald Hutton is a professor of history at Bristol University. He is a leading authority on ancient and medieval paganism and magic, the British Isles in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, and on global context of witchcraft beliefs. He is the author of seventeen books, including The Triumph of the Moon: A History of Modern Pagan Witchcraft, The Witch: A History of Fear, from Ancient Times to the Present, and his recent book, Queens of the Wild: Pagan Goddesses in Christian Europe: An Investigation.Ronald frequently appears as an expert on Paganism and witchcraft on British television and radio programs too numerous to name (though one of Pam's personal favorites is when he pops up in the hilarious docu-parody series, Cunk on Britain). His work has been trailblazing in the realms of academia and religion, as well as in shaping a more humane geo-political response to the very real witch hunting that still happens across the globe. Ronald was recently awarded the title Commander of the British Empire, an honor bestowed to those who have made a highly distinguished contribution in their field – as he certainly has.On this episode, Ronald discusses his pioneering work that helped establish the field of Pagan Studies, the boons and banes of his academic view of magical history, and the ever-evolving figure of the witch.Pam also talks about spiritual lineages, and answers a listener question about what the cards are saying regarding these tumultuous times.Check out the video of this episode over on YouTube (and please like and subscribe to the channel while you're at it!)Our sponsors for this episode are The Stormcloud Oracle, BetterHelp, Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab, and TU·ET·AL soapWe also have print-on-demand merch like Witch Wave shirts, sweatshirts, totes, stickers, and mugs available now here, and all sorts of other bewitching goodies available in the Witch Wave shop. And if you want more Witch Wave, please consider supporting us on Patreon to get access to detailed show notes, bonus Witch Wave Plus episodes, Pam's monthly online rituals, and more!
