I'm a 20 year-old young Mennonite woman and I'm driving farm equipment for the summer. This is me rambling on the tractor, and sharing it with the world.
I'm done with farm work!I recorded this episode on the tractor on my last day of work. It's a little chaotic, but I discuss some of the good and bad things about this job, why I love it so much, and what my plans for the future are.Thank you all for joining me as I worked these past two summers.Love you all.
I'm driving a tractor that my fellow employees and I have varying opinions on. In this episode, I discuss some of the things I like about it, and I rant about some of the things I very much dislike about it. I also give my opinion on the wonderful invention of a game known as Monopoly Deal. Also, if you're an aspiring writer looking for a short story idea, boy do I have one for you!If you have any ideas for topics I should discuss, dm me on Instagram and let me know! I'm done combining (perhaps forever)! In this episode I discuss the end of the clover harvest, how much I hate whirlwinds, and how close I am to being done working on the farm. I also give you a tip or two on how to be a good employee. If you have any ideas for topics I should discuss, dm me on Instagram and let me know! My handle is @tractortalkswithjenny
In this episode, I talk even more about mice, and birds, and how at least my mom thinks I'm funny. There was more, but I'll leave that for you to discover. If you have any ideas for topics I should discuss, dm me on Instagram and let me know! My handle is @tractortalkswithjenny
In this episode, I go on a few mini rants about things like why Welch's fruit gummies are better than Mott's fruit gummies, and why author's shouldn't put 10th-anniversary prefaces at the beginning of their books.I also discussed some other things, but it has been 8 hours since I recorded this episode, so I don't remember what they are. I'm too lazy to go back and check, so we'll just all be surprised I guess. If you have any ideas for topics I should discuss, dm me on Instagram and let me know! My handle is @tractortalkswithjenny
We've moved to clover! In this episode, I describe what I like and dislike about combining clover, and why it's so much more intense than combining grass.I also discuss the stupid things that people have done on the road recently, and how you can drive better around farm equipment. If you have any ideas for topics I should discuss, dm me on Instagram and let me know! This episode is a bit unhinged and chaotic, because, like the fool that I am, I decided to record it with only a smidgen of an idea what I wanted to talk about and no rehearsing whatsoever. In this episode, I discuss the past few days of work and everything that has happened since my last episode. This means you get a description of my combine breakdown and the process of blowing off combines. If you have any ideas for topics I should discuss, dm me on Instagram and let me know! I recorded this episode in the morning, and between me recording it and me posting it a bunch of plans for the day changed. So, I told you what was up with combining in the beginning, just know that wasn't quite it. Mostly in this episode, though, I discuss my childhood fears that were mostly caused by an overactive imagination. I also talked briefly about a sheep skull that I found. If you have any ideas for topics I should discuss, dm me on Instagram and let me know! My handle is @tractortalkswithjenny
In this episode, I describe more of the wildlife I see from my combine, including a herd of geese and many many mice. I also discuss my pet snails and their egg-laying habits. If you have any ideas for topics I should discuss, dm me on Instagram and let me know! My handle is @tractortalkswithjenny
To be honest, I was tired when I made this episode, and I'm tired now while I'm posting it. As a result of my exhaustion, this episode may be one of the less coherent ones. In this episode, I discuss my recent move to a new combine crew, how there seem to be more spiderwebs in the morning, and how I'm getting old. If you have any ideas for topics I should discuss, dm me on Instagram and let me know! My handle is @therealjenny.s
I lacked a bit of energy in this episode because it was a bit of a weird day.Still, I managed to talk for a while about endangered species and the capacity of humans to eradicate some things while completely failing to eradicate others. If you have any ideas for topics I should discuss, dm me on Instagram and let me know! In this episode, I start with a bit of an update on how my dad is doing. Then, I go into long-winded discussions about both turkey buzzards and Cinnabon delights. To be honest, I didn't realize how passionately I held my opinions about both things until I recorded this episode. If you have any ideas for topics I should discuss, dm me on Instagram and let me know! Harvest 2020 has begun, which means so has Season 2 of Tractor Talks with Jenny! In this episode, I discuss how amazing goldfish crackers are, and how the knock-offs just can't compare. I also cover the Baby Yoda that's been hanging out in my combine for the past few days, as well as some embarrassing moments on the combine. If you have any ideas for topics I should discuss, dm me on Instagram and let me know! You guys! This is my last episode for the summer! I finished my last day on the tractor today, and I'm continuing on to other things, which I describe in this episode. This episode lalso contains a poem and a story about the tractor I'm driving (which I began to appreciate less throughout the day, because it was the hottest day of the year so far and the AC was struggling). If you want to see a picture of the tractor, go check out my Instragram @therealhjenny.sI appreciate all of you guys for listening to my podcast. Right now it's looking promising for a season 2 next July!
In this episode, I spend more time than I expected giving you all an update of what I've been doing for the past few days. Also, I went on a rant about how much I dislike yellow jackets (spoiler: probably more than spiders)If you have any ideas for topics I should discuss, dm me on Instagram and let me know! I recorded this podcast a day ahead of time, and then forgot to post it on Tuesday liked I'd planned. Oops! Now it's embarrassing how much I talked about how prepared I was in this episode! Also in this episode: the names of the combines I've driven and a description of how my sister and I used to eat soft boiled eggs.If you have any ideas for topics I should discuss, dm me on Instagram and let me know! For some reason when I'm doing these episodes, I can never keep my days straight, so if it gets confusing, it's because I'm an idiot. Also, I can't remember, like, half the things I said in this episode, and because I recorded it late I didn't get the chance to listen through it. So, who knows what I said...If you have any ideas for topics I should discuss, dm me on Instagram and let me know! My handle is @therealjenny.s
Prepare yourself for updates on my car and combining clover, as well as a rant about how much I dislike people who litter in fields. Also, there's a question for all you nerds in there as well.If you have any ideas for topics I should discuss, dm me on Instagram and let me know! A lot of rambling about my car's issues, how combining has been going, and how I feel about spiders. If you have any ideas for topics I should discuss, dm me on Instagram and let me know! My handle is @therealjenny.s
I forgot what I was saying midsentence probably twelve times in this episode.Still, I told two of my best airplane stories, which both involved me traveling alone, very stressed and very tired. If you have any ideas for topics I should discuss, dm me on Instagram and let me know! I spent more time than I thought I would, talking about my lunch and then dived into how I don't have any hobbies.I also gave a lot of recommendations for podcasts that are way better than mine.If you have any ideas for topics I should discuss, dm me on Instagram and let me know! Somehow I managed to spend this entire episode talking about skunks. Get ready to here my three best skunk stories, and also how cute skunks are.Somewhere in there I also get after my 14-year-old self for thinking I was an introvert. If you have any ideas for topics I should discuss, dm me on Instagram and let me know! A tired Jenny Smucker tells a story involving Coca-Cola and holding her pee for hours, and talks about some of her more challenging days driving farm equipment. Also, at one point I got frustrated because I kept saying "today" when it wasn't today, and I said it was Tuesday. It was Wednesday. If you have any ideas for topics I should discuss, dm me on Instagram and let me know! My handle is @therealjenny.s
After getting some suggestions from my Instagram followers, I talked about the ROV team that I was on and how GREAT of an experience it was (I probably could have talked about it for 20 more minutes, to be honest).I also reminisced about reenacting Cinderella at my friend's house as a kid, and how I still remember it from a kid's perspective. If you have any ideas for topics I should discuss, dm me on Instagram and let me know! I spend a lot of time in this episode talking about things I don't really know much about, like animals, Wile E. Coyote, the best grain cart driver, and how to be a good driver around farm equipment. Also, sorry Jacob. If you have any ideas for topics I should discuss, dm me on Instagram and let me know! I'm back in the combine again which means we have another noisy episode. Somehow I spent most of this episode talking about life hacks, ones I've hated and a few of my own (all of which involved food). Also, at one point I got VERY startled by someone talking over the radio, and I realized I could've bought a trip to Iceland with the money I spent on car repairs. If you have any ideas for topics I should discuss, dm me on Instagram and let me know! In an unexpected turn of events, I'm not working today, so today's podcast comes directly from my backyard. Be prepared for a lot of talking about how I have no clue what I'm talking about.Other topics include: If people from Florida have Southern accents, my recent affinity for Hawaiian/Fishing shirts, and a bunny that I happened to see while I was recording this episode. Also, that picture I mentioned towards the end is on my Instagram story if you haven't seen in already. (But it'll only stay there for 24 hours)If you have any ideas for topics I should discuss, or the answers to any of my questions, dm me on Instagram and let me know! My handle is @therealjenny.s
Talking about being bad at things, the most illegal thing I've done on a tractor, and how long you could survive on a box of Triscuits. In regards to that last one, I realize now that I read the information wrong, and there are actually 20 calories per Triscuit. So, I guess survival time is pretty much the same as with no food.If you have any ideas for topics I should discuss, dm me on Instagram and let me know! My handle is @therealjenny.s
Jenny talks about her car troubles and the animals she sees from her combine. Also, I'm still getting the hang of this so I talk too fast and tell you every time I pause the recording. If you have any ideas for topics I should discuss, dm me on Instagram and let me know! My handle is @therealjenny.s
