There's a saying that hindsight is 2020. That saying has proven true to me; I can see the past clearer now than when going through it. When looking back, I can appreciate the situation now for what it was. A learning experience.
The boundaries we create often come from the experiences we face in life. Our defense mechanism can be put up so we do not have to feel the same pain we felt in the past. Those boundaries are not a bad thing. After placing them up, serenity is easier to gain. We can have peace in knowing we don't have to deal with the drama, stress, and disappointment that could come by letting outside forces impact what is inside. It is more than ok to close dark chapters so that your light can shine.
Forgiving yourself is about more than just putting the past behind you and moving on. It is about accepting what has happened and showing compassion to yourself. “Be courageous enough to forgive yourself; never forget to be compassionate to yourself.” “Never forget to forgive yourself; always remember to love yourself.”
Reliving a dark moment can be hard, but in this episode, I share the process of how I overcame the darkest point in my life. Tune in as I announce my gains, my pain, and how speaking out became a therapeutic superpower.
We have a special Announcement: IM FREE AT LAST! In this episode of Trenell Speaks we highlight the importance of setting boundaries, detaching yourself from toxic people (and items), and how the journey to redefining oneself is progressing each day.
