U.S. Navy sailors with Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron - 51 from the guided missile destroyer U.S.S. Lassen (DDG-82), conduct humanitarian assistance operations, offloading aid supplies from an MH-60R Seahawk helicopter to a remote village in the Republic of the Philippines,18 November 2013. The Department of Defense maintains significant capability forward deployed throughout the Asia-Pacific region ready to provide humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.
