Can you point me to a show where you covered this off, or advise me? Do you know if any of the Bullet seating die manufacturers produce dies that seat the bullet using a bullet seat plug that is independent of the bullet shape? Then I would just need one bullet seating plug for each calibre I load. By that I mean it gets seated the same way you measure CBTO using an ogive comparator tool and callipers? Or is this method likely to put too much pressure on that part of the projectile and cause deformation at the base of the ogive? Or am I completely off base with this and have completely misunderstood how it all works? Hello, and welcome to the Reloading Podcast here on the Firearms Radio Network.   Tonight the gang is taking questions from the live chat.   I did some shooting last week, and was disappointed on the average Muzzle Velocity I measured. I used Hodgdon Benchmark powder on a 150gr bullet for my .308 Win. Reloading data from the website says that the max load is 43 gr. with an estimated velocity of 2,752 fps, and minimum charge 39.0gr with an estimated velocity of 2,521 fps for this bullet weight and caliber. For the reloading aspect, I annealed my brass, FL resized and bumped the shoulder .002", trimmed the brass to 2.005" and seated the bullet .020" away from JAM. I decided to come down 2gr from max but got a average of 2,010 fps, I shot 50 rounds, does anyone know what might of happen? Only thing I could think off is that i didn't take into account the COL that the manual says, Hornady manual says maximum 2.700" and hodgdon states 2.800" that's the only measure I didn't take into account since my seating depth was determined by the .020" from JAM. Standard procedure, take a fired case and measure it with a headspace gauge, reset calipers to zero and resize case to get your correct bump e.g. -.002. set your die and start cranking.  Here is my point, that was one case out of 100, let's say that was the longest or shortest case, which could and will distort the bump for the other cases. I measured a sample of 30 cases and there was an es .0065 with the average, median and mode coming in at 1.535 (6mm creedmoor case)  Is that .0065 spread something we just live with or do we need to measure a sample batch before bumping the shoulder back? Welcome back to another Episode on Planet One. Greg Angello and John C just finished our recording from early morning -- about 7 am. This, as usual, was not scripted, yet we had some thoughts where we wanted our podcast to go. We started out with a light-hearted discussion. I brought in one of John's messages from our previous episode on a positive mind set, and then we got into a serious, very serious conversation after John mentioned the word faith and it all changed from there. John and I have had conversations on biblical matters many times, but this was our first putting it down in a recording. I think we may have stumbled on a subject matter that is not often discussed. This is rather lengthily -- about and 1.5 hours so we hope you stay as long as you can or take a break and pick it up when you have more time. I may break it up into two parts but we will see how it goes with views. This is a topic that you probably won't hear very often between two people who are not on the exact same page on biblical truth. Not saying that either one of us is correct or one of us is wrong, though I stand on what God's Word says and not by what man says. Our discussion is controversial, and from my past experience, it can cause issues between family members and friends who disagree, and sometimes can cause complete separation over this topic. I share my testimony, and what it means to be adopted, similar to my son who was adopted as my child. This may stir something for you or make you angry, or neither. We hope you at least give it a listen. And feel free to share your thoughts, good or bad. Dissenting academies, as they were called, were necessitated by the reestablishment of the monarchy and state church in 1660. Subsequent legislation made it impossible for conscientious dissenters to gain entrance to English universities. Pre-university education was also difficult because any school had to be licensed by the local bishop. But after the 1720s, non-conformist education began to be recognized and even monetarily subsidized by the government.
