It's pride week here in Rochester, and we couldn't be more excited to celebrate! In honor of the occasion, we brought on our long time friend Leesh to join us. Having coming out publicly later in her life, she tells us all about her experience from growing up to right now. Happy pride everyone!
It's Pride Week! In honor of that, we welcomed Chris Hartman, director of Kentucky's Fairness Campaign, to talk about the past, present, and future of the LGBTQ rights movement in Kentucky. Topics included cities where fairness is being actively discussed, what it will take to win a statewide fairness law, and why it's important to include both caucuses in the legislature. We also updated several stories we've discussed before: another update on the prospect of a special session, Alison Lundergan Grimes' complaints about the vote certification process, West Virginia's governor settling with several Kentucky counties, and lots of Quick Hits!
We have another guest host this week, a Vanderpump Virgin! We talk online dating and first impressions. It's PRIDE Week and Lisa is all about that pink fur, but a sunscreen incident has everyone up in arms and a relationship may not survive. We release new episodes every Wednesday. Check out our twitter, Facebook, and Instagram -- @talkpump. Email us with corrections, comments or pump stories at talkpump@gmail.com
It's Pride Week in Boston, so we're bringing you the story of Boston's first Pride parade. While most early Pride celebrations were joyous occasions, Boston's 1971 Pride parade was a protest march. Inspired by Stonewall, activists confronted representatives of religion, policing, and government. Show notes: http://HUBhistory.com/083
What does it mean to be queer in 2016? Does identifying as queer mean something different today, than it did in the past? It's Pride Week in North Carolina, and in this week's episode Monique Laborde, the show's summer intern, and her friend Kayla Miron talk with Sandra and Anita about what being queer millennial women means to them. We're proud to say that this episode was written and produced by Monique! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
