You'll be listening to this at the beginning of Women's Appreciation Month and Self Harm Awareness Month, but this recording was on the conclusion of Black History Month. Join us for another episode of hard facts, compelling and controversial viewpoints, and recording way too late into the night. The gang get together while being under the influence to discuss a wide variety of topics such as Projeckt Melody; the 3D cam girl (9:44), Watching anime the correct way or in dubs (18:32), the recent controversial topic of what is better; backshots or missionary (29:53), another crazy story from the guys that you don't want to miss (43:58), and why the public only shames Hip Hop artist for lying in their songs or creating stories (1:25:10).
We wrap up our Women's Appreciation Month mini-marathon with Agnes Vardas' Faces Places (Visages Villages). The celebrated documentary from Varda and visual artist JR is a buddy-comedy documentary. The two artists tour around the French countryside capturing the lives of those who make the world go round. We rarely talk documentary, so we have some fun talking form. We then move into the ideology of the work and explore the social elements at play. We also continue to expand the syllabus as we finally start to find our footing with the new format. Tune in now to hear our thoughts on Faces Places.
Enjoy this special Women's Appreciation Month episode! Also, there's a mention of "M.I.T." in here during the Stephen Hawking portion, but it's a reference to the music school, not the tech school.
Track 4 is here!!! We really enjoyed this show as always. A listener asked us what was the best concert we ever attended. Kane as always, can never just give ONE answer. We gave our thoughts on a possible Hot Boys reunion, and our opinion on the latest song featuring Mannie Fresh, Juvenile and Lil Wayne. In addition we touch on the idea that The Clipse didnt have to pay Pharrell for "Grindin" and speculate as to what album Top Dawg was planning to drop on us unexpectedly. If you didnt listen last week, you'll find out that March is Women's Appreciation Month so we got together to discuss Nicki Minaj and her staying power as well as other female rappers that are currently dominating beats and the airwaves. Jay doesn't understand the Dej Loaf love, but he does love Dreezy. Lastly, Kane gives his album review of Macklemore's newest work which came out last weekend. His score just MIGHT surprise you. We ended the show as usual with this week in Hip Hop history as well as some song suggestions.
