In this episode I had the opportunity to talk with Greg Ray. Greg runs a company called Outdoor Solutions. They teach people how to shoot long range, go on hunts, and help people take their game from the field to the kitchen. Greg is doing some awesome things however it did not come without some pain. Greg was hit by a jeep that came through his house. The jeep was sitting on top of him and he was severely injured. In this episode I interview Clay Smeltzer. Clay started out his career working towards becoming a professional baseball player. In college Clay was a star, however he broke his thumb playing catcher. Instead of allowing his thumb to heal, Clay played 60 games with his injury. Ultimately this lead to Clay ruining his chances at ever becoming a professional player. In this episode I interview Seth Clark. Seth had a tragic motor vehicle accident when he was 16. Seth went into a downward spiral after the accident. Seth got addicted to pain medication and gained a significant amount of weight. Seth weighed upwards of 400lbs . Seth woke up one day and decide enough was enough. Day by day he got off his pain medications and began to loose weight. Seth is now 200lbs lighter and continues to improve everyday. In general people think that fires are simple. Someone sees a fire and calls the fire department. The firefighters come and put the fire out. There is so much more to it. In this episode I explain what we do and how we do it. How we handle fires can be used in how you deal with life. What's your fires and how are you putting them out? Are you completely putting out your fires, or are you just "knocking" them down and not completely taking care of them?
Are you stuck in a chair? Often in life we get stuck in chairs. We don't even realize that we are in a chair, but there we are, stuck. Start to recognize when you're stuck in a chair and do something about it. Get out of your chair, and help others get out of their chairs.
Suicide. A tough topic to talk about. In this episode I dive into the subject of the why, and what we should do. This is my perspective, as a first responder, after it happens. If we can do something and be better at recognizing the signs, maybe we can help someone. Help those around you know that you care about them!
