Its forty years since the People's Republic of China and Australia established diplomatic relations in 1972. Since then the relationship has blossomed in a variety of mutually beneficial ways – including in terms of trade and cross cultural ties. To mark this significant anniversary, the Australian Embassy here in China has put together a '40th anniversary Program' to reflect the breadth of this relationship. To discuss this program, and the cultural ties which bind these two nations, we welcome to the studio the Australian Embassy's Cultural Counsellor, Michael Growder and Amanda Barry, the Embassy's Cultural Relations Officer.
