This is a new podcast. I will be focusing on cold cases and hope that by getting them out there in the public and getting people talking again, we may have a resolution.
Forewarning: This isn't actually a cold case. However, this is a local case near and dear to my heart. Ashanti Billie was a 19 year old girl that recently went missing in Virginia Beach, Va. Her body was found days ago in Charlotte, NC. How did this responsible and beautiful college student end up six hours from home?
The controversial murder of former Mayor Fred Duckworth of Norfolk, Va. A proponent of segragation in the south, former Mayor Fred Duckworth was murdered on his way home from his daily walk. The murderer has never been found. In the shoutouts I completely forgot to say thank you to Cambo from True Crime Island. Make sure you go check out his latest episode!
In April 1980, 18 year old Cynthia Joan Gastelle would leave her home in a suburb of Washington D.C. never to be seen again.
This episode focuses on the unsolved New Haven murder of Yale University student Suzanne Jovin. Mistakes made by the police investigating this murder have made it likely to remain unsolved. Do you know something about this case? After recording this episode I discovered that I had forgotten to plug in the coaxial cable of my microphone into my mixer and this ended up being recorded with my computer microphone. I really didn't want to rerecord so I apologize for the sound quality.
In Bakersfield, California on September 15, 2014 a 28 year old man was on his way to work when he was killed in his front yard by an unknown assailant (or assailants). The family thinks they know who the killer is or who is involved. No one has been charged by the police and no suspect has been officially named.
Episode 1 will focus on the Baby Hope case out of Virginia Beach. On December 21, 1996 an abandoned infant was found in a plastic grocery bag at the Lillian Vernon Warehouse on the 2600 Block of International Parkway in Virginia Beach. Intro music is the instrumental version of Giants by the band Forget the Whale.
Not an actual case... This is simply my introduction episode!
