One amateur athlete, will endure 10 gruelling months of physical and mental torture in the hopes of completing Irelands toughest endurance event.
Dr Noel Brick is a lecturer in Sport and Exercise Psychology at Ulster University. Noel’s research interests include the impact of attentional focus, cognitive strategies, and metacognitive processes on the regulation of endurance performance. This work also extends to the role of cognitive strategies and metacognition on longer-term exercise activity adherence. Alongside his academic and research activities, Noel is also a long-distance runner and has completed more than 30 marathons and ultra-marathons including the Marathon des Sables in 2012 and the Irish 24-hour Championships in 2013.
