Carbon trading, also referred to as the cap-and-trade scheme, is one market-based way to lower greenhouse gas emissions. Essentially, carbon trading is the idea of trading the right to pollute, creating a financial incentive to curb emissions. Companies buy and sell the ‘right to pollute’ from each other, with a limit imposed on emission permits.

Matoha Ultrascience is a small and low-cost plastics identification instrument which has been developed by a team of 4 Imperial College scientists. In this episode we're joined by Martin and James from Matoha and we're talking about tackling the plastics issue on a local and a global scale!
