Episode 7: Lower expectations

Play Episode Listen Later Nov 9, 2018 12:32

Hi Guys! Happy Friday! Just wanted to share a quick conversation about the expectations we set for ourselves and ultimately how it affects our mood and general sense of happiness. Shout out to my friend Jazlyn for putting my current situation into perspective and helping me realize everything is temporary. Live in the moment and take everything day by day. - J

Episode 6: Third time's a charm

What up little Js? Big J here. Only been a whole month since my last episode - nbd. A topic that has been on my (and my followers' minds) recently are long-term relationships that seem to go back and forth with no end. After experiencing one for my self, I wanted to speak to someone that's been where I've been at least once. I wanted to discuss why, when things don't work out the first time, do we continue to work towards something that seemingly can't be fixed. Revisiting my friend Michelle's past two relationships, and dissecting the current one (bitch, the tea is real and long so get comfy) we were able to answer that for ourselves. We also briefly touched on red flags, abuse, and knowing your worth. Things that we wished we knew from the start, but ultimately, only come with experience and moving on. Mostly Michelle's battels pieced together with a typical rant about my ex here and there (not malicious, just my truth, relax). Special thanks to her for being so open, honest, and most importantly my friend.

Episode 5: A Frank discussion about Depression

Something I've been trying to be more forthcoming about is my longtime battle with depression and anxiety. While I only really cover a small bit of what depression (specifically) means for me, I hope this conversation will allow others to realize that they are not alone. I'd like to give a very special thanks to this episodes guest speaker: Frank. While I know this particular topic was hard for you to talk about (took two takes, a whole bottle of jack daniels, and some shots of vodka), I glad you become comfortable enough to shed some light on your situation as well. I appreciate you, your time, your honesty, and your friendship. You have a heart of gold and I love you. To anyone out there that finds themselves in a similar mental/emotional state. Whether it be better or worse, know that there are people that care for you and better days are yet to come. Episode 4.5 Strange kinks and the reality of casual sex

Hey guys! I'm back with another episode of J Talking. After downing a whole bottle of ménage à trois for episode 4's recording, Prianka and I decided to bring back the subject of sex and dive into the strange world of kinks and "underground" sex acts. While this episode was mostly fun, it did end on a more serious note.  Moral of this episode? Have fun. There's nothing wrong opening up more and exploring your sexuality but always, ALWAYS, use protection and keep yourself safe.  Ttyl,  - J

Episode 3: Addiction

I'll keep this description short and sweet. Addiction can be a very difficult subject to talk about, especially since admitting to being an "addict" can cast a negative shadow on you and alienate you for your loved ones. I'm so proud of my friend Megan for being so transparent about her struggles with addiction, choosing to share her story now that she's at a better place in her recovery, and allowing me to share some of my experiences in return. To Megan: I love you. I'm proud of you. You are everything and I'm so glad you're here. If you or someone you care for is struggling with any kind of addiction or mental health issue please check out The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration website or call 1-800-662-HELP (4357). It's a confidential, free, 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year, information service, in English and Spanish, for anyone facing mental and/or substance use disorders. They also provide referrals to local treatment facilities, support groups, ect.

Episode 1: Healing after heartbreak

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 21, 2018 92:42

Hello, fellow broken-hearted souls. Welcome to the very first episode of my own Podcast- Jtalking. With absolutely no experience or even the slightest idea where to begin, I created this space where I can share the parts of me I usually choose not to. This week's episode will touch on a topic that is very relevant to my life currently: moving on and staying motivated after a breakup. Yes, it seems like the end of the world as you know it- but dig a little deeper, push yourself a little hard and surround yourself with friends like the ones I'm so fortunate to have and you'll see. It easier to come out on top than you think. Tune in to hear the wisest man I know, Julio Miguel Cruz Jr., slap you in the face with his words and basically take complete control of this episode. I ain't even mad. Make sure to follow and tune into the Podcast that started it all TwoHearts. To Julio: Thank you for believing in me when I didn't believe in myself. I will be better because you are better
