A lecture given at L'Abri Fellowship in Southborough, Massachusetts. For more information, visit  by Ben Keyes In his sermon entitled "The Lord's Work in the Lord's Way," Francis Schaeffer called Christian people to a mentality of radical dependence on God. All too often Christians work for good things, but rely solely on human resources in reaching those goals--the latest programs, techniques and strategies of the world. In doing so, the church loses access to the power of the Holy Spirit which is offered to us in the Bible. In this lecture, we will revisit France Schaeffer's ideas about working "in the Lord's way" and discuss the relevance of his sermon for today. The theme for this week's episode is COUPLES! Nathalie starts off with the controversial case about Edith Thompson and Frederick Bywaters, a couple put on trial and executed for Frederick's murder of Edith's husband Percy. Although Edith had nothing to do with the murder, her love letters to Frederick (proof of her affair) were enough to convince the jury that Edith deserved death by hanging. Rachel then tells the story of Jenny and Joseph Carrier. The media described this couple as a modern day Bonnie and Clyde after they were arrested for a month long, multi-state bank robbing spree. The comparison to the most notorious couple in American history is not a fair one, as Jenny and Joseph were struggling with addiction. Rachel discusses how opioid addiction affects the mind and body. We review the importance of early intervention for people who struggle with addiction and discuss harm reduction strategies. Revisiting The Question Of Proprietary Platforms For Media Companies

We've got some great new discussions for the Techdirt Podcast... coming in a few weeks. But at the moment, amidst a very busy schedule on a variety of fronts, we're taking a short break to look back on a very old conversation: our 14th episode ever, from 2015, about media companies rolling out proprietary content management systems. Since we recently completed our own migration to Wordpress (the popular platform that was also a major component of that seven-year-old discussion) we thought it might be fun to revisit the question. So on this week's episode, Mike and I open with a bit of a retrospective followed by a replay of the original conversation in full.

For this episode, I spoke with Dr. Justin Haegele about his most recent research around children with visual impairments and their experiences with inclusion in a physical education setting. Dr. Justin Haegele (@Justin_Haegele) is an associate professor at Old Dominion University, an accomplished researcher in the field of adapted physical activity, and a frequent guest on this podcast. For this episode, Dr. Haegele and I had an in-depth discussion about his recent paper entitled "Absent, Incapable, and “Normal”: Understanding the Inclusiveness of Visually Impaired Students' Experiences in Integrated Physical Education" where he and his research team interviewed several children and youth with visual impairments about their experiences with feeling a sense of belonging and acceptance within their integrated physical education setting. Within this discussion, we also revisited some of our previous discussions about inclusion vs integration and the notion of how we as physical educators may at times do more harm than good for our students with disabilities.

The WWF was at the peak of its popularity and had all timer moments every week. Last week featured 3 of the biggest moments of all time including the reveal of The Higher Power as Mr. McMahon and Stone Cold Steve Austin becoming CEO of the World Wrestling Federation. Now that Stone Cold is the new CEO, he takes a visit to the WWF Headquarters at Titan Towers! While there he meets a lot of corporate “suits” and makes a lot of people drink some Steveweisers! As Austin is away, Mr. McMahon and The Corporate Ministry book the entire show. Vince and Shane McMahon are getting ready for a 2 on 1 handicapped match with Stone Cold at WWF King of The Ring 1999 so they need to try out some stipulations for that match. They book a Dog Pound match with Mr. Ass vs Road Dogg, a Blind Date match with Test vs The Big Boss Man, and a Straight Jacket match with Ken Shamrock vs Jeff Jarret. Plus, in the main event The Rock battles The Undertaker in a special stipulation match; if The Rock wins he will vs The Undertaker at WWF King of The Ring 1999 for the WWF Championship.
