Leo “Skip” Childs of Truro was working at his father-in-law’s gas station the summer of 1974 when word spread that a woman’s body had been found in the dunes in Provincetown. Now 45 years later, Childs has a part-time job mowing the church cemetery where the unidentified victim — known now as the Lady of the Dunes — is buried. In the latest episode of the Lady of the Dunes podcast, Childs and his wife, Margie, a Provincetown native, talk about their memories of the year the victim was found and their impressions of the impact of the unidentified woman’s death on the town.
