What can AOC's decision to freeze her eggs tell us about fertility, reproductive technology, and our desire to control the future? In this episode of Wisdom of the Body, Heather Grzych explores egg freezing, IVF, fertility preservation, and what actually happens when sperm meets an egg, including the remarkable "zinc sparks" scientists can observe during egg activation. Through real fertility stories, modern reproductive medicine, and an ancient image from Genesis, Heather asks a deeper question: Does understanding the mechanics of reproduction mean we understand the mystery of life? This isn't an argument against egg freezing or IVF. It's an exploration of what reproductive technology can give us—time, options, and possibility—and what it can never give us: certainty about the future. Heather Grzych, ADLC is an author, healthcare strategist, and host of the Wisdom of the Body podcast, a top 2.5% global podcast. Jesus reveals God's offer of loving mercy to sinners. To accept this gift, we must identify and admit our failings. Recognizing our sins enables us to further cooperate in our redemption. Sin can be understood and categorized in several ways, but every sin wounds our nature and damages our relationships with God and neighbor. Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 1846-1853. Ep. 241 | A deeply engaging conversation in which Alexander Love, adult development expert and coach, and author of the soon-to-be-published trilogy Evolutionary Gestures, introduces us to the post-tragic perspective, with all of its potential to nourish, ground, and open us to a world of possibilities. Alexander explains that post-tragic is not a developmental stage per se, but a dimension available to anyone willing to do the work. It's part of a triad—pre-tragic innocence, tragic disillusionment, and post-tragic possibilities—encountered in every wisdom tradition, the hero's journey, and every good story. Post-tragic is not about leaving the tragedy (trauma, pain, loss) behind, but about turning toward it and dropping into a dimension of being that can interface with it in a new way, from a place that isn't divided or broken. It's also about asking, what happens next, after the tragedy? How does the story proceed?Shattering our certainty, a tragic event in our lives makes our world more diaphanous, Alexander continues, opening the way for us to lean further into the mystery. Here we encounter the vastness of possibility, the mystery being the first imagined wholeness, the seed of all potentiality, and we begin to see the sacred and the beauty in everything. Though the healing notion of facing our trauma and working through it is not new, Alexander's pre-tragic, tragic, and post-tragic framework (deeply informed by his own experience) is compelling. With it, he has painted in the entire landscape around the core tragedy or trauma, giving us the full picture, the before and after, and connected us with a dimension of compassion and forgiveness that is liberating and full of promise. A wise, gentle, intense, warm, humble conversation. Recorded April 23, 2026.“It's not forgive and forget… It's remember deeply. The work is grounded in the story of his father's murder and the restorative justice dialogue he later held with the man who took his father's life — an experience that profoundly shaped his understanding of healing, accountability, and reconciliation, and continues to inform his work today. Through magic realist memoir, evocative artwork, and a novel articulation of human becoming, this volume opens toward post-tragic possibility while introducing a distinctive developmental vision. In Episode 3 of Mother on Trial: Inside the Lindsay Clancy Case, Mystery and Murder: Analysis by Dr. Phil, the case enters its most consequential phase as closing arguments end and the jury begins deliberating. Prosecutors argue that Lindsay Clancy knew what she was doing, deliberately created an opportunity to be alone with her children, carried out the killings in sequence, and demonstrated purposeful behavior before attempting suicide. The defense counters that Clancy was suffering from severe psychiatric illness, had deteriorated dramatically after childbirth, and lacked criminal responsibility at the time of the killings. Sarah Carden joins Dr. Phil and breaks down the competing arguments, Massachusetts' legal standard for lack of criminal responsibility, and why the prosecution, not the defense, carries the burden of proving criminal responsibility beyond a reasonable doubt. Now jurors are scrutinizing two critical pieces of evidence: Clancy's prescription medication bottles and the knife used in her suicide attempt, evidence that sits directly at the intersection of the defense's psychiatric argument and the prosecution's theory of deliberate, organized behavior. The ultimate question remains: Was Lindsay Clancy severely mentally ill but still criminally responsible, or was her mental disease so severe that the Commonwealth cannot prove she was responsible for what she did?Sponsored by SleepCreme: The foundation of health begins with sleep. On 12 October 2004, 16 year old Samantha Tapp disappeared from Burleson, Texas. After an argument with her grandfather, Samantha left her grandparents' home at around 7:30pm and went to her older sister Kendale's boyfriend's house, where Kendale was staying. Samantha wanted to stay with her sister, but Kendale told her she would have to return to her grandparents' home for the time being. Samantha left at around 8pm, and although Kendale expected her to cool off and eventually go home, Samantha was never seen again. On the podcast, we look at the possibility that Samantha may have returned to her grandparents' home sometime after she disappeared, including the cigarette butts, moved furniture and missing clothes discovered in the backyard. We also discuss the potential sightings and other clues that have emerged over the years, and consider how likely it is that Samantha could still be alive today and living a different life.Contact us at: weeknightmysteries@gmail.comInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/weeknightmysteriesTikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@weeknightmysteries

In the healing of the deaf man, Christ's command “Ephphatha”-“Be opened” reveals something deeper than the restoration of physical hearing and speech: it points toward the restoration of humanity's communion with God. Echoed in the ancient Western baptismal rite and described by St. Ambrose as the “mystery of opening,” this Gospel sign recalls how sin gradually closed humanity's ears to God and reduced our speech about Him to a stammer. In Christ, the divine Word enters creation to reopen what had been closed, and in baptism He gives us anew the capacity to hear Him, speak to Him, and truly pray. Yet the opened ears of baptism must be continually trained through the life of the Church-through Scripture, Liturgy, fasting, almsgiving, and the lives of the saints-especially in an age filled with the constant noise of information and distraction. Christ continues to say Ephphatha to each of us, calling us toward the restored communion of Eden and ultimately the New Creation; the question is whether we will cultivate the ears to hear Him.

Laci is joined by the hilarious Jay Jurden in this extra long episode exploring the heist of a Nicolas Cage film from a flash drive someone left on a desk. Throughout Cage's (née Coppola) storied career, he's starred in some of the greatest movies of all time (Adaptation), and he's led some of the worst (see streaming titles). But no one predicted an entire film could be stolen. Now, producers are suing, and we're left wondering if this film about the man who inspired the creation of James Bond will ever see the light of day. What is really lurking in the forests of Land Between the Lakes? Returning guest and retired sheriff Martin Groves joins Tony Merkel once again after sharing some of the most gripping and disturbing Dogman and Bigfoot encounters ever discussed on the show in Episode 514, “Terror In The LBL,” and Episode 538, “Dogman's Trace Of Death.” Drawing from years of investigating the strange activity surrounding this mysterious wilderness, Martin recounts encounters that seem to blur the line between flesh-and-blood creatures and something far more supernatural. As the conversation goes deeper, an unsettling possibility begins to emerge: what witnesses are seeing in these forests may only be one part of a much larger mystery connected to forces beyond our understanding. Through the fear, unanswered questions, and increasingly strange patterns surrounding these encounters, Martin ultimately points toward God as the answer to understanding what may truly be lurking beyond the veil.If you're able, consider helping the Merkel family with medical expenses by donating to Lindsay's GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/b8f76890

What if the thing you're searching for isn't something you need to find—but something you've carried within you all along? In this episode of Women Express, Denise Harrington and Nia Harrington sit down with Cynthia James for a wide-ranging conversation about intuition, purpose, joy, the divine feminine, and the power of women coming together rather than competing with one another. Cynthia shares why she believes our purpose evolves with us, how the experiences we've had throughout our lives can reveal a deeper thread, and why listening to your inner voice may be more important than having a perfectly mapped-out plan. They also explore her book The Kingdom of Magic and Mystery and its Seven Castles, while reflecting on taking risks, giving yourself grace, and finding meaning in the small things that bring you joy. This is a conversation about trusting yourself, embracing who you are becoming, and having the courage to step into what's already within you. This week, I talk with Andre Hardy about his fresh take on noir in his debut novel Tear the City Down! Listen to hear about: How Andre Hardy's debut novel, Tear the City Down, grew from his lifelong love of noir—particularly Walter Mosley's Devil in a Blue Dress, which showed him a fully realized Black protagonist in a genre he already loved. The ways Hardy uses San Diego's stark dualities—tourist paradise versus underserved neighborhoods, enormous wealth versus systemic oppression—as the foundation for Coltrane's story and the novel's larger questions about social mobility, morality, and what happens when you actually reach the top. Why Hardy shied away from a traditional stoic noir hero, and created Coltrane to be masculine, dangerous, and deeply vulnerable. How the mystery expands from one missing girl into something far larger, illustrating Hardy's belief that seemingly isolated injustices often lead back to systems of power and exploitation. How Hardy drew on his own NFL experience, love of jazz, reading, and upbringing in San Diego to give the novel its texture. Something arrives at a Cherokee deathbed wearing the face of a very old man or woman, and the witches and demons want nothing to do with it. They call it the Raven Mocker. ==========HOUR ONE: They're powerful in the supernatural. Witches, demons and poltergeists fear them because they are not from our world. The Cherokee call them the Raven Mockers. We may never know – the Vatican, the supposed owners of the device, are refusing to cooperate when questioned.
