By infusing the system with conflicting and false information, they're ultimately able to keep the populace disoriented and confused about what to believe. They do this by undermining the very people they've brought on board to guide us through this tragedy . . . the scientists. What the machine didn't realize when they decided to include scientists in their task-force was that the scientists would provide us with a rational assessment of what we were up against and how we should approach dealing with it. But that message doesn't resonate well with the conservative machine, so they've had to scramble to silence it!
